Great location, good size

  • 4 of 5

Pros: This flat was well located just off of Oxford St, between the Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Rd tube stations. It was walking distance to the British Museum, Soho, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, etc. The flat was very roomy for our family of four. We had a difficult time finding a place to rent with both 3 beds and two bathrooms, and this fit the bill perfectly without breaking the bank. Having a Sainsbury’s next door was very convenient for picking up breakfast items and snacks. It was also great having a separate laundry room with both a washer and a dryer. Roberto did a good job of going over everything when we checked in, and was responsive if we sent him messages about things that needed attention. Having an elevator was a bonus for our luggage, although it was quite tiny.

Cons: A new coat of paint could do wonders to spruce up the aging interior. The bedrooms were pretty quiet because they were located in the back of the flat, but it could be noisy if the windows in the kitchen were open (one night a nearby hotel was blasting music until 3:30 a.m.). In addition to the street noise, cigarette smoke would waft up into the flat from below. Despite the “no smoking” sign posted on the front door, people would park themselves there and light up. Pretty typical for London, though (sadly).

All in all, this was a good place for our family to stay for the week we were in London.

Stylish comfortable apartment within minutes walk of so many experiences

  • 4 of 5

Sean met us on time to let us in to the unit, and was available by text to assist us when we needed him. The apartment was contemporary and comfortable. I LOVED the high ceilings. Having a washer and dryer in a separate laundry room vs being incorporated into the kitchen like some rentals, was a nice bonus. We definitely made use of it. There was also plenty of room for our party of 5 adults - a single and a double in one room, a single couch pull out and queen in the other, and the couch in the living room was even large enough to serve as a bed! (which my oldest adult son chose to use vs sleeping in the same room with us or his brothers) Having 2 bathrooms with toilets and showers was also nice for a group our size. The location was wonderful. There was a market 2 doors down, which was extremely convenient for acquiring necessities. Also many restaurants within a stones throw to sample. Being a musical family, we loved that Yamaha of London was only a block away! And SOHO starts across the street. We were able to walk everywhere from this location. The theater district is only 10 minutes. And Gail's Bakery became our Go-To for pastries in the morning- a quick 4 minute walk. There is also a bicycle docking station close by, which was easy and fun to use foe covering longer distances faster.

The only down side to this rental, and what kept it from getting 5 stars, is that there is no air conditioning, or even fans. It was very warm, and a little humid, our entire stay. My recommendation is to have 3 oscillating pedestal fans stored in the laundry room. One for the living room, and one for each bedroom. That way when the weather gets warm and humid, there is the ability to circulate the air. Sleeping would have been much more comfortable with fans to cool the rooms down. Otherwise it was perfect!!!

Good for tube travel.

  • 4 of 5

The place was great the location was good but busy!! Close to the tube made travel easy. The front common room was noisy as it faced the street but the back bedrooms were quiet. We could have used one more bed for our group of 5 adults. Definitely needs mirrors in the bedrooms and outlets in the bathroom for drying hair.

Convenient and Comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic place to stay. Super central. Easy to connect to any area in London via the Central Line or bus service. The flat itself is clean, nicely decorated and spacious. We stayed with 6 adults. There is a king size bed and a fold out bed in one bedroom which features a big bathroom. The second full bathroom is in the hall and the second bedroom is equipped with a full size bed and 1 twin bed. The dining, living, kitchen area is large. While the apartment is located just of Oxford Street, the bedrooms are very quiet.

Sean was great, we were able to leave our luggage in the morning of arrival as well as the day of departure. Everything was very easy and we would definitely rent this apartment again. Thank you Sean.

Great Flat in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5

This flat was perfect for my wife and I and our two grown children for our visit to London. It close to Oxford Circus and Tottenham Station Underground. We were within 10 minutes walking distance to Piccadilly Circus, shows, sites of the Soho area. The flat is located 1/2 block from a local grocery that had everything we needed for excursions - drinks, breakfast foods, toiletries (when needed). The apartment building is stone (classic London) and the flat itself is very modern - wood floors, updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, great bathrooms with updated finishes and fixtures. There is a small elevator useful for carrying luggage. We arrived a little early by cab from Paddington station, though we could have taken the Underground, and the property manager, Sean, met us at the flat and showed us everything we needed to know. There are restaurants and coffee shops everywhere close by. We particularly liked the Hummingbird Café for desert foods - cupcakes and brownies after a long day of sight seeing. We would recommend this place to our friends and will stay there ourselves when we visit London again!

Great week in London

  • 4 of 5

I was a bit nervous booking through VRBO. It seemed many, if not most of the properties required a significant portion of rental fee be payed in advance. But fortunately, this place is real and the management company professional. At one point we thought we might cancel our trip, and they were helpful in advising me on the steps I would need to take to get a full refund.

We were going to arrive at the apartment from the airport ahead of our scheduled appointment to get the keys from management. We called, and they were able to get there early too. The gentleman who met us there was very helpful in familiarizing us with the apartment and the area. He also arranged transportation back to the airport for us at a fair rate.

The apartment is nice and in a good location. It has a big kitchen and dining area and we able to cook dinners with no problem. Master bedroom has lots of closet storage and an attached 3/4 bath.

The second bedroom has a double and single bed. There isn't much for storage of clothing in here and it's not the biggest room, so it's a bit tight with three suitcases in there, but it's doable. (At one point we had three people in this room. To sleep six people in the apartment, we had to use the single pull out bed in the master, which was fine).

One down side is the living room couch. To me it wasn't very comfortable and has many stains. I personally prefer a higher back and shallow seating so my knees can bend and my feet touch the floor. I know, this is personal preference, so I can't knock the place for not knowing what I like, but the stains were a bit disappointing. That said, I was able to take a nap on it. The living room chair was quite comfortable and great for reading.

The bathrooms. Spacious. I never showered in the hallway bathroom, but I didn't hear any complaints from those in our group that used it. The master bath was nice except for the low water pressure in the shower and a few small patches of mold.

Location. It's half a block off of Oxford, which can be crazy busy. But you can avoid it and the apartment was quiet inside. Just North of the apartment is the Fitzrovia neighborhood. It's very nice and much more low key compared to the Oxford St. madness. Lots of nice little restaurants and pubs. We found the location pretty ideal. A bit far from the river maybe, but a doable walk for sure.

Overall, we were happy with the apartment. It isn't perfect, but has a lot of upside. We'd stay again.
