Take in the stunning panoramic views of the Straight of Georgia and the snow-capped North Shore Mountains from our beautiful, rustic oceanfront cottage. Enjoy drinks and meals on the deck while you watch the spectacular sunsets and, after dark, the lights of Vancouver. Then wake up to gorgeous sunrises over the mountains or star gaze at night through the large skylight in the second floor master bedroom.
Watch birds, deer, otters, seals and bald eagles while you sip your morning cup of coffee from the sandstone beach, the wrap-around deck, or one of the two main bedrooms. You might even see a pod of orcas passing by, or sea lions frolicking in the ocean right in front of the house.
The Hot Tub is nestled into the natural landscape just off of the beach, overlooking the ocean. Savour the gorgeous night time views of the stars and the lights of Vancouver. In the summer, watch the sunrise and sunset. In the winter, listen to the sound of crashing waves on the beach as all of your cares melts away.
The house is tastefully decorated and equipped with all the basics you may need. Both the Master bedroom and second bedroom overlook the ocean and mountains. The Master bedroom has a larger than king size bed and a large skylight for star-gazing at night. The second bedroom has a queen size bed. Each of the other two bedrooms have sleeping lofts and two twin beds.
The property is just 10 minutes by car from the ferry. It's a nice walk down a country road or just minutes away from stores, restaurants, the golf club and the pub, by car or bike. It sits on about 7 private wooded acres and 300 feet of low bank, sandstone waterfront. There are extensive lawns for lounging or playing games as well as a large pond where you may see wood, harlequin, mallard or other ducks.
In the cooler months, snuggle by the fire with a good book, enjoy our great selection of board games or our wonderful and diverse collection of DVD's.
We fell in love with Galiano Island about 25 years ago, and have been both full-time residents and 'weekenders'. We currently live in Vancouver and hope to return to Galiano full time one day.
The Owner purchased this house in 1996
As past full-time residents, we knew exactly what we were looking for in a Galiano home. This property has it all: 300 feet of beachfront, 7 acres of private forest, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets in the summer, a wrap-around deck, lots of windows, wood stove, hot tub...
Fabulous few days break - we have been so relaxed here. Loved the house, tides and beaches. Have plans to return!
We should have left this comment sooner...we stayed here for a week in the summer of 2005. What a wonderful time!! We still talk about how beautiful it was. Keep an eye out for the eagle!!

Very nice place. Great deck with lovely views to the east. Quiet and secluded. A real getaway retreat.
Very private and comfy cottage with great views . Must be the best place to stay on Galiano Island. The hikes, especially Bodega Ridge, rejuvenates your spirit.
We hope to come back .

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Two Penguins. The ocean view is magical and instantly forces you to slow down. Beds were heaven! We slept so well. Saw whales, deer, seals, a snake in the garden, eagles and more! Sandstone rocks out front can be slippery at high tide or after rain, so be careful with little ones. Gorgeous spot and definitely fed our souls. Thanks Joanne! PS Already booked our return stay!
My wife and I go to about 2 cabins per year, and have experienced a lot of them. This one is on our top 3 of our favorite list! Great spot for families, lots of room, great for the family dog, Great hot tub, awesome property. We will return one day. Everything that you need is there, only thing is, if your a TV buff you need to bring your laptop to hook up Netflix or streaming site. Otherwise plug in a good ol dvd in the old school tv and have at it. Being a tv buff I actually brought my own 32" tv. lol Im sure a majority of ppl will not even watch tv because of the beautiful surroundings.
Highly recommend this property Rental!
Had a wonderful stay with my wife on our honeymoon at Two Penguins. The property was clean and well equipped and maintained. The hot tub was particularly great and the master bedroom with skylights and large windows with views of the sea was absolutely incredible. Definitely recommended as a great and memorable place to stay on Galiano Island!
