Throughout the house, you will be impressed with the great attention that has been paid to details. From the many architectural surprises of the house to the thoughtfully stocked amenities, the house and its setting provide the perfect combination of luxury and comfort.

On the main level, the large living room and dining room with cathedral ceilings boasts a beautiful rock fireplace, Mexican Sautillo tile floors, stained and leaded glass, a wet bar, and two sets of French doors. There is a half bath next to the living room's wet bar. The well-stocked kitchen provides everything a cook could need. About Mark

Hi, I am Mark. I love to travel just like you probably do. I feel so lucky and blessed to own this beautiful home and even luckier to get to share it with you. I am involved in real estate (own and rent long and short term rentals). Its a good thing that I am so handy and love to fix things and paint!

Mark purchased this house in 2006

Why Mark chose North Georgia Mountains

My favorite thing is getting to stay at the cabin after some guests have left and reading all the kind, and amazing comments left in the guest book. It feels really good to know that I have brought a little joy and happiness to others!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wowee!! What a lovely location. We wholly enjoyed the full sized, bountifully equipped kitchen. The movie collection was a wonderful surprise. We could have stayed inside all week, if not for the allure of the surrounding woods, rivers, and falls.

This house has a wonderful atmosphere in every room. The furnishings are tasteful, comfortable and solid and the decor overall is really appealing.

A great place to relax or to be active, as you like it!

Wonderful secluded property in a great resort area.

  • 5 of 5

The location was fantastic, even though it was in a resort community the property felt completely secluded. The resort area has wonderful trails and plenty to do so that you don't ever have to leave the property if you do not want to. Mark was wonderful to deal with and the property was as advertised. I would definitely stay there again!

We'll be back !

  • 5 of 5

Hi Mark, Wanted you to know that we had a GREAT time - thank you for enabling to have a memoriable birthday weekend! We LOVED the cabin. You have great taste! Matter of fact I really would like to know where you got the chaise that’s in front of the window in the Master bedroom – I’d like to buy one just like it. The Cabin was so  well stocked - you are not kidding, we really didn't have to bring anything other than food and drinks (great to know for next time)! BTW - everyone needs to check out the sign/note on the pin ball machine upstairs - what a NEAT idea! I can’t wait to check out your other 2 properties to see which one I like best. I think it’ll be tough beating Shooting Star Falls though.

Well appointed home in the Big Canoe community

  • 4 of 5

This beautiful home is tucked away in a nice neighborhood and is well appointed regarding decor, kitchen supplies, linens and a very handy washer and dryer. The driveway can be a challenge for some vehicles but my F150 made it after several tries using lower gears. It's not for the timid and requires going down to the end of the street, turning around, and charging up the steep drive. The home is lovely. Unfortunately, the area was experiencing a drought in August and the waterfall was not active. There was a nice trail close to the home through a deep canopy of trees running alongside several brooks/creeks. There are a few restaurants and an IGA grocery store down the road from the main entrance to Big Canoe. We also dined at the clubhouse and enjoyed a wonderful meal and golf course view. Beautiful.

Beautiful home and setting

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely home with my sister and her husband. Upon arrival we were all impressed with the beautiful decor and cleanliness of the house. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to prep, cook and serve a gourmet meal. Eco-friendly detergents, soaps and other cleaning supplies were provided. The beds were comfortable and the linens very nice. We played pinball and watched a movie from the extensive collection offered. At night, we enjoyed soaking in the hot tub, while sipping local wine we purchased from a nearby vineyard. There was plenty to do in Big Canoe- we rented kayaks one day and a pontoon another day. The cost was reasonable and we enjoyed both experiences. The surrounding area offered hiking, tubing, shopping, excellent restaurants, vineyards, and waterfalls to enjoy.

We would highly recommend this property if you're looking for a relaxing and fun mountain vacation! And to top it off, Mark, the owner was extra helpful and friendly before, during and after our stay! We'll be back.

Nice home on a beautiful lot. Like being in a tree house.

  • 5 of 5

Mark, the owner, was very helpful and timely in his responses. That's perhaps the most important part of a transaction like this.

Our use was for a corporate retreat where we stayed onsite the entire time. So our selection of this property was primarily about it being central to the participants and quiet.

We used the screened in porch a lot. It is literally in the tree tops. The kitchen is more of a galley style (more than one cook in the kitchen is a bit much) but we cooked full breakfast meals. Had sandwiches for lunch and a nice steak dinner using the outside gas grill.

The rooms are comfortable. We didn't use the TV or hot tub so I can't comment on those.

The one caveat is that this is not a location for people who have disabilities that would prohibit very steep stairs. You cannot gain access to the house without traversing long and steep stairs. That's one of the trade-offs to be in such a beautiful setting as this.

Beautiful, clean, luxurious!

  • 5 of 5

We had so much fun at Shooting Star Falls! The house was well equipped and then some!! The pin ball machine was an awesome touch and definitely a fun way to tip :) Big Canoe is overall such a beautiful place that I just happened to come across and I'm SO glad I did! I'm recommending Big Canoe to anyone looking for something new in the North Georgia mountains like I was, and I especially recommend Shooting Star Falls!
