- 2 BR, 1 BA , Sleeps 6
Had been coming to Maine since the early 70's . After living in different parts of the island decided to move to Town . I can walk everywhere . I can put my bike on the shuttle and take me to Jordon Pond . Then ride back home on carriage rd's . Pretty awesome .
John purchased this House in 2006
Why John chose Bar Harbor
I Love older houses . My realtor called me and said you must see this house . Bought it on the spot . We are close to all . You would literally never have to drive anywhere on the Island . The shuttle 'The Island Exploerer" starts June 23 .
What makes this House unique
All town has to offer is within walking distance .
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
We had a great stay at John’s house . Very well appointed , comfortable , nice art work ,flowers and within walking distance to all . A great bakery , health food store , 2 cats and Hannaford grocery store are all a one minute walk away . John met us and helped us in with our luggage. He had many great suggestions . He was there when we needed him . And we never new he was there during our stay . The bathroom is small but quite nice as all is . Highly recommend !!!
Thank you . Makes us happy to know that you enjoyed it so much . Please do come back .
Great place to enjoy Acadia
Had a lovely week at John’s charming house. Very convenient for enjoying Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Place has everything you need and John has lots of great recommendations for food and fun. We would gladly return for another week!
Thank you very much. It was great spending some time with you. Also great seeing how much fun you were having. Please do come back
Wonderful Stay in Bar Harbor!
We had a great experience at John's home. The apartment was a perfect size for us and our dog, with the most amazing location. We spent our mornings on the balcony having coffee and pastries from a nearby bakery. Hopefully we'll return next summer. Thanks, John!
Thank you much . Tator misses Mookie . Please do come back .
We spent a week in John's Bar Harbor apartment. The place was just right for a family of four. It was clean and well kept. Window air conditioning units were more than adequate for an unusually warm and humid August in Maine. The apartment is two stories. Our boys (6 and 8) enjoyed sleeping together in the upstairs bedroom. This allowed us to have some "grown-up" time in the main living area without disturbing their sleep. We walked to all Bar Harbor points of interest and restaurants. Mount desert ice cream is a must. The acadia destinations were a brief car ride away. John was readily available and responsive to all our needs, yet respected our privacy as others have commented. We would rent this accommodation without hesitation in the future. Thank you, John!
Thank you . Always great to hear . We get many families and love it , A great pace to visit as a family . Many memories to be had . Please come back .
Great location, wonderful host!
We spent a delightful week in Bar Harbor and Acadia. The house is in a great spot, just a short walk from the main supermarket and a few more minutes brings you into the heart of downtown. It was quiet and comfortable, and the deck was a sunny spot to relax after a day of exploring the area. John, the host, was wonderful. He was friendly, incredibly helpful, and easily available, yet also not intrusive - we had as much privacy as we wanted. In addition to providing valuable tips and local info, he drove us to a beautiful spot along a beach.
As for the house amenities, the air conditioners did a great job on the warmer days. The shower is small but has great pressure and a top-notch showerhead. The kitchen is well-equipped, and we used it. Enjoy your stay!
Thank you . We will miss you . Please do come back . We all had much fun .
All the best to you and your beautiful family . Tator says “come back soon please”
Perfect location, close to everything. A lovely and comfortable home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in John’s home. With two young children we found the location to be ideal for exploring Bar Harbor and taking the kids out for meals and other fun activities. The home had everything we needed and was a very comfortable place to relax at the end of a busy day. We also enjoyed all of John’s recommendations and appreciated that he respected our privacy whilst still being available to give us advice on things to do in the area.
We will happily stay again!
Thank you John.
Thank you we look forward to your return . Have a great year
Hike the many trails in Acadia National Park, go whale watching, rent kayaks and explore the lakes and coastal areas, eat lobster, visit the wonderful shops in town, take your pick of many great restaurants, relax and do nothing, relax and swim at Sand Beach, go to the movies at the recently renovated 1920's Criterion Theatre, or watch a movie as you eat pizza at Reel Pizza, or when it's all said and done you could just eat a lobster.
