Amazing Bar Harbor getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay here! Everything was perfect, clean, and totally comfortable. It was like being at a home away from home, and at week's end I did not want to leave! The apartment is well stocked with everything you could need from kitchen supplies, towels, fans, pillows, etc.. We brought our clothes and food and the rest was taken care of! The house has TONS of charm and was located on a quiet side street. We loved that the house was in a quiet area but was still close to everything. Just a short walk of a few blocks and you're surrounded by shops, restaurants, grocery store & village green. We stayed here with myself, my husband, my 6 year old son and my in laws and we all fit comfortably. The bathroom is on the small side, but no one seemed to mind! The balcony was certainly the highlight and we spent as much time as possible out there soaking up the sun. I would recommend staying here over & over again, we surely will be!! Thanks John for a terrific week!

A perfect vacation getaway

  • 5 of 5

A spacious and comfortable apartment, the property on Myrtle street was the perfect place for my family and friends to enjoy Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The apartment could not have had a better location, with ample street parking, a block from the grocery store, and a block from our favorite breakfast place. Then it was a short walk into the heart of Bar Harbor to take in the town or hop on a free Island Explorer bus to go for a hike or just tour the park. John was a wonderful host - friendly and helpful, and accommodating. Communication was easy with John, always responsive and flexible. The apartment was everything we hoped for with comfortable sleeping for six, a well supplied kitchen, a second floor balcony to take in the morning sun or to just sit out on a balmy evening. We hope to return to Bar Harbor in a couple of years and hope to stay with John again.

Great place to stay, great location.

  • 5 of 5

We’ve stayed here before and enjoy coming back. This is one of the most affordable, logistically perfect vacation locations that we have found. The apartment is equipped with all the comforts of home and the location is within walking distance of downtown Bar Harbor and is within bike riding distance of Acadia. The apartment is only minutes from the Village Green where free Island Explorer is available to take one anywhere on Mount Dessert Island or Acadia National Park. The Landlord has a wealth of information on where to eat and the local restaurant scene if assistance is needed for dinning out. The Kitchen was well equipped and we had most lunches at the apartment. Bathroom is small but very functional. Beds are very comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet despite being close to downtown Bar Harbor.

Great cozy place

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property last week and were so happy to have stayed here. The home was clean, cozy, well stocked and close to everything. We only used our car (maybe) 3 times.

The owners were available if needed. However we didn't need them because they had everything all laid out for us! We loved that!

We look forward to coming back soon.

Always a pleasure staying here,

  • 5 of 5

This is our 4th year staying at In Town Bar Harbor. The house is on a quiet residential street that has very little traffic. Is ideally located and close to everything, only a five minute walk to wherever you need to go whether it be the Grocery store, downtown Bar Harbor or to the water. House is well equipped with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. The house is perfect for couples or a family of four.

Home owners John and Holly are always so friendly and helpful with tips on where to go.

When we're in Bar HArbor this is where we stay.

AN AMAZING PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently returned from two glorious weeks in Bar Harbor in this amazing place. The home is beautifully decorated, clean as a whistle and so comfortable. John and Holly, the owners, live on the first floor and are there to answer questions or offer suggestions if asked and are otherwise invisible! We hiked and/or cycled in Acadia each day (we recommend the shuttle bus from town) and then dined in one of the restaurants on the island including McKay's, Havanna, Cafe This Way, XYZ, The Burning Tree, and Town Hill Bistro. We also loved using the beautiful, open kitchen and dining room and cooked some meals from home. All of the shops, restaurants, movie theathers, the Sand Bar, ocean and the Village Green are within walking distance. We highly recommend staying here. We had the time of our lives!

Map

Hike the many trails in Acadia National Park, go whale watching, rent kayaks and explore the lakes and coastal areas, eat lobster, visit the wonderful shops in town, take your pick of many great restaurants, relax and do nothing, relax and swim at Sand Beach, go to the movies at the recently renovated 1920's Criterion Theatre, or watch a movie as you eat pizza at Reel Pizza, or when it's all said and done you could just eat a lobster.
