The Chetco River in Brookings is a world class salmon fishing river. Brookings Harbor is a boating "safe harbor" with excellent crabbing. Salmon Run Golf Course is less than 5 miles away. The giant Sequoia redwoods are close by and the town of Brookings is just down the hill in front of you. There are excellent seafood restaurants and fresh seafood markets close by. There are many interesting shops and an antiques mall to explore. The local open air farmer's market is fun. Whale watching, sea and river fishing excursions are available locally and thrilling jet boat rides run on the Rogue River in nearby Gold Beach. The huge old fashioned 4th of July fireworks display over the harbor is awesome! Hike, bike or just come relax in this beautiful, friendly part of the world. The sunsets over the Pacific are spectacular year round!
Other nearby attractions: Lucky 7 Casino, Azalea Park, bowling alley, movie theatre, horseback riding, beach combing and shelling, surfing, sailing, kayaking, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.

I helped design and build and held on when told to sell BEV. My family's fun Brookings Beach house which when I first came up to this hilltop knoll overlooking the whole town and a huge hawk was gliding around on the wind currents without a single flap of it's wings I realized I had a Brookings Bird's Eye View. I have 2, really 7, really more like 20 millennials I love and care for deeply: Most are Trojans,. AQHA colt, Berry and MyV. Love to Travel! Love to stay in vrbo.com places :D Love my Garden, Love my friends. Love. God. Peace, love and brown rice. W
We would definitely stay here again. Loved the home and hospitality of the owner - thank you Wendy!
Thanks Wendy! This is such a great house way up on a hill overlooking Brookings. The house is not terribly hard to find but it is very high on the hill. There is enough space for any size group and every room has a tremendous view. There are no curtains or blinds on any of the windows which is a little odd, especially in the bedrooms. However, since there are not really any close homes, it really isn't a privacy issue.
I booked this house for a weekend getaway for 12 members of service organization in Grants Pass. The house is perfect for large groups with 4 bedrooms that sleep 8, 2 couches and room for blowup mattresses in the downstairs game room. The dining table seats 10 and we put a small table on the end to expand for 12. The kitchen is a dream and huge, allowing us to prepare meals with ease. Seating for 5 in the great room, but with 4 stools at the bar in the adjacent kitchen and a couple dining chairs - we made it work. The house/linens/kitchen/bath are very upscale and immaculate. Parking for 4 cars ( the garage was locked and not available) was pretty tight - a chore to turn around as backing down the long drive was not an option. The view from the house and covered decks was gorgeous and sunset were stunning. A short drive to the beach, shopping and restaurants - then back up the hill to paradise.
I brought my elderly father and aunt here for some relaxation and rest. My father used to live in Brookings and we were there to visit friends and our old haunts. Birds Eye View was just a marvelous place to escape to ... the gourmet kitchen a delight to cook in, and the views amazing from all the rooms. Wendy was gracious and helpful - the amenities were as promised. We had a great vacation!
Would love to own this home!!! The view is exactly as described Bird's Eye View or B.E.V.... Owners are very generous and kind. The house is great for all ages and has plenty of room for a big family. Lots of games, movies, B.B.Q and a full assortment of kitchen supplies. Very clean and affordable. Close enough to town and the beach. Private and comfy....
We've stayed here multiple times and love it more every time. The house is HUGE and works for both a work related retreat (lots of beds for lots of people) or a family vacation (each time we've invited another family as our guests and had room to spare). The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The jacuzzi tub is devine. The view is breathtaking with sunsets like you've never seen before. There is a whole closet full of toys and games for the kids as well as a foosball table. WiFi and great TV allow you to stay "plugged in" if you wish. It's so big you can even put the kids to bed downstairs and still have a romantic get away upstairs! The price is a STEAL for what you are getting!!
