charming villa agapanthus

Two friends and I stayed here for a couple of days in Cluny. We received a warm welcome from the owner, who was charming and very helpful. The apartment is very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We had on-site free parking, and the apartment has a lovely three-season room with a table and chairs overlooking the owner's plentiful flowers and plants. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends. The location was convenient for walking and touring the old center as well as driving out to the countryside. There is a market nearby, and we loved having breakfast at the organic bakery Le Pain Sur La Table!

This is a well equipped house, all on the first floor, with three double bedrooms.We were only two and it suited us fine but with only one bathroom,with a very good shower, and one toilet I think that with more than four you might be pushing it as you would if the four were adults. There is a good wi fi connection.

What is not spelt out on the web site is that a "caution" (breakage deposit) of €200 plus a final cleaning charge of €30 is due on arrival. When travelling in France I use my card for most spending and only take a minimal amount of cash for smaller items so if I had known of this I would have budgeted accordingly. As it was Madame Ducerf waived the need fpr the caution, she probably thought that two oldies would not run riot.

There is an reasonably sized Atac supermarket about 60/70 metres away which also sells fuel. The centre of town is only 10 minutes walk where everything is available.

We ate out in the evenings as our view of self catering does not go beyond boiling eggs for breakfast and plating meat,pate,cheese and salads for lunch. There are good eating places available, if you go on Trip Advisor you will find my comments under the pseudonym wouldbegourmet.

Cluny is interesting and this is is a first class place in which to stay to see it.

La maison est proche de toutes les commodités, très bien équipée, spacieuse et bien entretenue. Maria est très attentionnée, à l'écoute et arrangeante, un immense merci pour ce bon séjour, nous reviendrons, c'est certain.

La villa de Maria offre suffisamment de place pour qu'une grande famille puisse s'y sentir à l'aise. Les chambres sont confortables et la salle de bain au top !

On peut y garer son véhicule à l'abri et les commodités sont toutes proches. Un supermarché se trouve à 5 minutes à pieds et le centre-ville n'est guère plus loin.

Un dernier petit mot pour notre hôte Maria, très sympathique et serviable.

Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.
