CLOSE TO THE BEACH ON QUIET. Your rent also includes end of the week professional cleaning while many other cottages do not (you have to pay more). Fee for a small dog is much less than renting at a kennel (and wouldn't you rather have your fur baby with you, we know we do)
Tucked away on a quiet street, away from all the crazy traffic, yet close to the beach.
Walk to local restaurants, close to Old Orchard, Biddeford Pool, shopping outlets and theme parks. The 7 mile beach is only a short walk from cottage (approx 900 feet). Relax on the deck that is set on a peaceful street that is home for some historic cottages dating back into the 1800's.
View the tidal marsh at high tide right from the 2nd floor balcony. Enjoy the spectacular sunsets. Fully equipped kitchen makes meals easy to prepare, cook and clean. 2 couches and chair are in the living room to sit and watch a movie in the evening or walk to a local restaurant that many say have the best fried clams they have ever had in their lives.
3 spacious bedrooms upstairs with pillow-top mattresses make resting for your next day easy. There are 2 queen beds and 1 bunk bed (bunk bed has 1 full mattress and 1 twin).
Newly added 160 sq ft Dining room with table for 6 (3 season room not available off season). Also includes color tv/dvd/cable in the room for late night card and game playing.
TV in master bedroom is 42 inch flatscreen
The beach remains uncrowded all season with plenty of room for relaxing or building sand castles. Find many treasures while walking from sea glass to starfish and sand dollars. You may even spot a harbor seal nearby. A short walking distance from the beach will bring you to a mile long rock jetty for fishing and sunset pictures.
3 minute drive to Old Orchard Beach with many shops and an amusement park. 10 to 15 minute drive to 2 theme parks such as Fun Town Splash Town. Drive-in movie theater, daily flea markets, shops and restaurants. New balcony has been added on 2nd floor for better view of Village and salt marsh.
Small dogs are ok with for additional charge of $75.00 for first, 50 for additional (much cheaper then kennel). Sorry, no cats due to life threatening allergy.
Renters to provide linens (towels, sheets, pillow cases).

John and Roxanne. A couple that loves to get away to our special place in Maine. We try to make our cottage as comfortable as we can for our guests, as we stay here a lot as well.
John and Roxanne Molina purchased this cottage in 2002
Camp Ellis is a bit like an old Village going back into the olden days. There is basically only 1 road into the village that ends up circling around the village and back out. There are about 80 cottages in this area. quite a few are still the old lobster and fishermen that have been here for decades.
We wanted a place were we could bring our children every summer. They can walk the area with little worry of traffic. They can go to the general store and get an ice cream cone, go crabbing off the jetty or look for sand dollars at low tide.
we couldnt have found a better place in Maine near a beach to raise our family.
Very quiet area in relationship to others like Wells and Ogunquit. 50 people on the beach in the summertime during the week is considered crowded.
A nice dead end street, that gets little traffic, yet 900 feet from the beach. our balcony offers a nice place to enjoy a cool refreshment during sunsets in the summer.
A small yard if you bring your dog so they can go to the bathroom. Other places maybe closer to the beach and allow a pet, but there is no place for them to go to the bathroom
Just wanted to tell you that you have a beautiful cottage here!! Very nice decor!! The location is so nice and quiet, yet so close to the beach. It has been wonderful!
Was neighbor has been a joy to meet!!
Again, what a nice place!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing and renting!!! We will definitely be back!!!!
Dear John and Roxanne,
We had a wonderful stay in your loved home-away. We were grateful that you welcomed our unexpected family members coming to us. Each one of us had privacy for quiet time (our own TV's) and plenty of room to enjoy our together time. We ate lobster every night. Since we were out-of-season, we enjoyed the already steamed lobsters from Hannaford Market. We did a whale watch from Portland and enjoyed it without a whale. Good time to be "at sea".
We need to come back when all is happening but for our time it was great. Just walking the beach pleases these "dessert rats"!
Thank you for the many comforts of home and for sharing them.
This house is very well maintained, clean, and spacious. You can tell right away even from the correspondence prior to rental that these folks really care about their home and take great care of it. Everything was as described or better. Updated technology with wifi, cable and dvd throughout was ideal. The bonus dining room area is much bigger than it looks in these pics. Bathrooms are good sized and clean. Kitchen was very functional and really fully stocked. The view from the deck was lovely and the grill, shed, porch, yard and other amenities made this an incredible find. The owners put the care and attention in to make sure that their renters are comfortable and enjoy their vacation. We would return in a heart beat.
What a find! Camp Ellis is the sandy beach without the hectic traffic.Your cozy, comfortable home was a great home base for exploring all around Southern Maine.
The owners were very welcoming and helpful.
Our foodie family found the kitchen very well-equipped and we enjoyed preparing local seafood.
We hope to come back again, and would recommend this property to any traveler!
We had a wonderful stay at this 3 BR cottage! The place was clean and well stocked with every kind of kitchen utensil, bowl, etc. The owner was responsive to emails. The location was just a couple of blocks from a nice, quiet beach and a few little restaurants. Saco is not far away (driving) for groceries and the like. Provides a good base for visiting Portland, ME or Portsmouth, NH. Our toddler loved her fish-themed room and talked about it for months afterwards. We all remember our time in Camp Ellis fondly!
The comforts of your home made for a very pleasant vacation.
Every year we have been retreating to Camp Ellis for the past 20 years. We came with family and friends to share two wonderful weeks and your home was perfect and SO CLOSE TO THE OCEAN
Thank you for allowing us to rent your home.
We had a fantastic vacation.
A big Thank You!
This is a lovely cottage...very clean...nicely decorated..and the kitchen is very well equipped. We found we could be as busy or as quiet as we wanted to be. Waves crashing on the rocks...and a beautiful beach to walk at low tide...and treasures from the sea to find. A great place to build sand castles as well.
Our beds were very comfortable with a tv in the bedroom as well.
There is plenty to do in the area...we found a really good used book store...and they have videos and music as well.
We want to return...

A short walking distance from the beach will bring you to a mile long rock jetty for fishing and sunset pictures. In the Village of Camp Ellis there are 2 restaurants (1 year round), and 2 gift shops. Leave the dock on whale watch, go deep sea fishing. Rent kayaks for the day on the Saco River. Local general store has fresh daily lobster and will steam it for you. 3 min drive to Old Orchard Beach that has shops and an amusement park. 10-12 minute drive to 2 theme parks such as FunTown/SplashTown.
