About Marsha Hoecker

When our son offered to sell us this house and a couple acres of land cut from the larger piece he intended to build on, we jumped at the chance. We were in our 50s and, having always lived in church owned housing, didn't have anywhere to eventually retire.

Henry grew up in the Midwest but moved to Maine for his senior year in high school and Marsha was a Navy child, spending her early childhood in the south and in Japan

and then settling in New England as a teenager.

Marsha raised her family in VT and married Henry a couple years before going off to Episcopal Seminary. We have lived in Massachusetts, Vermont , and Connecticut and are now back in MA.

Our plan is to retire to our wonderful little house in 2020.

Marsha Hoecker purchased this house in 2005

Why Marsha Hoecker chose MidCoast and Penobscot Bay

We love the view down to the ocean from the bedroom window, and the way the rising sun wakes us in the morning. The house is filled with light on a sunny day and in the winter it's wonderful passive solar heat. We love the access to walking trails, and to so many things up and down midcoast Maine.

Wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

My family (wife, 13-year old son and I) booked this home for a week and greatly enjoyed our stay there. Hose is well located, central to all places in mid-coast. We took day trips everywhere although Rockland itself has a lot to offer. Grocery shopping is a short drive away. The main retail strip is pleasant and upscale. The house was well kept and fully amenitized. We did not feel the need for anything lacking that a small family like ours would miss.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect for family to gather in a quiet neighborhood, large back yard with fire pit, fully stocked kitchen. Loved the little town of Rockland. We ventured out from north of Camden down to Boothbay Harbor where we met with more family and made lots of new friends! 3 comfy beds. Visited the Owls Head Transportation Museum and nearby Thomaston for a great 4th of July parade! Sail on the schooner Heron in nearby

Rockland getaway

  • 5 of 5

The house is just far enough away from the city and a great location to use as a base for exploring Maine's midcoast. Beaches, lighthouses and great seafood all relatively close by. Would recommend Archer's for dinner and The Brass Compass for breakfast or lunch. Moody's diner in Waldoboro served an excellent breakfast.

The wood fired sauna was a nice add on to have after a long day of beach hiking..
