About Molly Scovel
Clark and I came to Nashville 24 years ago from South Dakota and fell in love with the culture and all Nashville has to offer. This is a great family community with so many healthy things to enjoy. Come and see why it is such a great destination location.
Molly Scovel purchased this Condo in 1994
Why Molly Scovel chose Hillsboro West End
It is all about the location. This is Nashville. You are right by Vanderbilt, Belmont and Music Row. The south values education and so do we. This is a safe neighborhood where you can walk to have dinner, coffee, the famous Pancake Pantry or a drink and watch the game. Take a 10 minute Uber or Lyft and your downtown Nashville. Quiet, safe, and a perfect location to come back to unwind. No driving necessary.

Perfect location, many great restaurants in walking distance. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Definitely coming back.
Not what I expected
While this VRBO is acceptable, it is definitely not one of the best I have stayed in. I reserve the rating of 5 stars for excellence, and this VRBO was not excellent. I felt some of the pictures were deceiving and there was some vital information left out of the listing. I thought I was booking a spacious unit, instead I was booking a small cramped space with limited room. There are actually three separate units in the picture of the building: unit #1 is on the bottom and units #2 and #3 are on the top. It is also not mentioned in the listing that you will be sharing the parking pad shown in the picture with 2-3 other cars (the occupants from the other units). The stairs leading up to units #2 and #3 could use some maintenance. Also it is not mentioned in the listing that second bathroom is on the first level of the house, and that the bedrooms on the second level actually share a bathroom (Jack and Jill style). There are vanities with sinks in each bedroom and you can access the shower and toilet via pocket doors located in each bedroom. While the bathroom on the first floor is technically a full bathroom, it is very tight and difficult to get around in. There is limited closet space in the bedrooms. In one of the bedroom closets there is a large wooden table top that took up a good portion of the closet, I am not sure what its purpose was or why it was there. I asked the owner, but she did not answer. The beds are literally mattresses on frame with a fitted sheet over them. I felt like we were in a frat house. I am not sure if the cleaning services did not come prior to our stay, but the house was dirty and extremely dusty. The fans in the bedrooms and vents throughout the house looked like they hadn’t been dusted in months. The air conditioner was very loud, so we opened the closet where it was located to make sure it was working properly and found that the filter for the air conditioner was extremely dirty and dusty and looked like it hadn’t been changed in a very long time. I contacted the owner and the filter was replaced and the house was cleaned, but not dusted. While the owner was available by text, it did take her awhile to respond. She also sent people to clean the house and did not let us know they were coming, which was a concern for me, as we were about to leave the house for the evening.
Great stay at Hillsboro. Shelton suite was amazing for us.
Great Choice! Clean, Comfortable, Safe and Good Location!
Molly’s vacation rental was perfect for our group of 4! The apartment was clean, the kitchen had the basic needs, beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were nice. We loved the separate vanities in each bedroom and the 2 bathrooms (1 upstairs, 1 down) which made getting ready to go move along much more quickly. ;)
After getting settled in, we took note that Molly had left a bottle of wine and a couple ‘spirits’ in the fridge and some snacks to welcome us to Nashville. Such a sweet and thoughtful touch! We toasted to the start of a great trip!! Thank you, Molly!
The location of the apartment was perfect – we were able to enjoy some local fare – be sure to try Jeni’s Ice Cream and most definitely the Pancake Pantry (was worth the wait in line)!!!! We were able to walk to the trolley (Old Town Trolley – purchase tickets ahead online) it was just a few blocks away and a pretty walk along portions of Belmont University. We utilized Uber to get downtown and around. No drive was over $11 (not including tip) which is less than the cost for parking in the Broadway and Gulch area. Coming back at night was no issue, it was a safe and quiet neighborhood!! And after a couple late nights on the town, it was nice to enjoy a relaxing evening staying in, popping popcorn and watching Netflix! :)
We had no issues whatsoever with the apartment so did not need to contact Molly during our stay; however, prior to arrival I found it was easiest to text/call. She is very responsive.
Our trip was a fun, memorable time and it was made simple and comfortable by choosing Molly’s Hillsboro Village apartment. Would definitely recommend this home to anyone with a group of 1-4 people and on our next trip to Nashville, we will plan to stay here again.
On another note for Nashville newbies… our FAVE was the Bluebird Café! Intimate and engaging setting to sit and really listen to some of the best music Nashville has to offer!
Great spot, short Uber or Lyft to downtown. Had everything we needed. Restaurants, coffee shops, and a grocery store walking distance. Quiet.
Perfect apartment in great location!
We had a fantastic time in Nashville at this apartment. Molly was very responsive and accommodating, and the apartment was so cute! We had plenty of space and privacy for two couples, and the downstairs bathroom/shower was especially nice. Super conveniently located just a quick uber ride away from downtown, with lots of cute restaurants and shopping just a block away. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this rental!
