The surrounding area offers something for everyone - from unspoilt countryside and stunning views to historic cities with Moorish roots to fine sandy beaches. From traditional to modern and cosmopolitan - it's all here.

There's plenty of excellent shopping around - from local street markets to traditional little shops to modern shopping centres to hypermarkets. Expect to pay a lot less than in the UK for things like leather goods, shoes, wines and spirits and more besides. Although many of the modern shopping centre developments will stay open all day, expect the more traditional shops in the towns and cities to close for the siesta around 1 or 2 pm and re-open again around 5 or 6pm until around 9pm.

Torrevieja is the nearest large town and it's about 15 mins away by car. As you come in to Torrevieja on the Carretera de Crevillente you will pass some larger supermarkets such as Mercadona and Carrefour (the largest of them all) where you will find an extensive range of goods from groceries to electrical. Next to Carrefour is the new Habaneras shopping centre where you will find modern shops with all the latest fashions. Around Habaneras are a number of restaurants. Continue in to the town centre to explore this traditional Spanish town and port. There are a number of car parks along the front. Along the seafront there are many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and most days there is a streetmarket. Turn in to the maze of smaller streets to find all kinds of sights and sounds waiting for you including lots more little shops and some excellent restaurants. The town also has many other facilities including an aquapark, a large children's play area and much more. Salt plays a large part in the town's heritage and salt production continues to be a major activity to the present day.

Just up the coast towards Alicante on the main N332 road lies Guardamar. It has a fantastic Blue Flag beach with a long expanse of almost white sand. There are numerous climbing frames and so on for children to enjoy, and during the summer numerous cafes and restaurants open right next to the beach. To the north, the pines that were planted to halt erosion by the sands create a striking landscape. Today the area is a 840 hectare Forest Park called the 'Dunas de Guardamar', and has been declared an Area of Natural Interest.

Elche is the third largest city in Valencia with a long history dating back to the 8th Century. It is probably best known for its palm grove - the largest in the world with over 200,000 palm trees designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. For a bird's eye view you can climb up the bell tower of the impressive cathedral and look out over the entire city. A new museum charting the history of the area is well worth visiting.

There's one major golf course - the Marquesa - right in Quesada just a few minutes away - you can see part of the green from the roof terrace. It is open all year, you can take classes and they have facilities to hire clubs and so on. Another, perhaps more renowned, is in Villamartin which is about 20-30 mins away, south of Torrevieja.

Lovely 2 bed town house with stunning views over the Mediterranean
average rating of 4.4444447 based on 9 reviews

Lovely air conditioned apartment which was very welcomed due to high temperatures

  • 5 of 5

Well equipped apartment with added extras like sunshade for the beach, body board, bar-b-q, rubber rings for the swimming pool.

Lovely communal pool.

Only slight niggle was lack of necessities on arrival - soap for wash basins, washing up liquid and cleaning cloths.

Overall a great apartment and we really enjoyed our stay.

Quesada 2 bed town house

  • 5 of 5

We had a great , relaxing week's break in this lovely 2 bed town house. We would recommend this town house to anyone looking for a quite , relaxing break. Town house very clean and well equipped. A short walk to a couple of local cafes and a supermarket for everyday essentials. . Quesada was about a ten minutes drive. Journey from airport to the town house made easy with excellent directions from the owner before our flight to Spain. On arrival we were met by Terry who was very helpful...thank you Dewi, thank you Terry.

Well furnished and equipped town house in a delightful complex - excellent choice!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this delightful property for 3 months between December and March 2015/16 and had a great time. Ideally situated, within walking distance of a small supermarkets, various friendly clubs and bars and about half-an-hour's stroll into the main centre of Quesada. It is perhaps the best equipped holiday home we have ever rented and we certainly intend to book it for next winter. We were met on arrival by the friendly agent, who showed us around and gave us lots of advice and information on where to go, what to see and where to eat and shop. The place was spotlessly clean and well maintained. For an extended stay, it's access to wifi and UK telly is very useful for keeping in touch with family and friends and finding out what's going on in the world. Quesada itself is a pleasant town, located fairly close to the main attractions of the region and only about 30 miles from Alicante Airport. Because we were on an extended stay, we travelled 500 miles overland to Quesada from Bilbao with our car which developed a clutch problem. We found two English-speaking garages in Quesada, one of which, Quesada Autos, fixed the problem for us, with a minimum off delay and cost, enabling us to have a problem-free return journey. All in all, the property is an excellent choice and we have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it to other travellers.

Small and basic, poor quality furniture, only plus new modern bathroom.Terraces front and back only 2 metres wide only small table and two uncomfortable chairs downstairs .Upstairs roof terrace lovely veiws but no shade,no umbrella(health and safety issue ?)Next to electric access gate noisey.Lacking basics, hairdyer, coolbag etc.No cushions for outside chairs.Could hear every noise from neighbours. Not suitable for long stay, perhaps just for a base.Definately not home from home. But then we have high standards, paid for them but were not delivered.

Owner's Response: I’m genuinely sorry that these clients didn’t enjoy their stay but they seemed to have a very negative attitude. They complained about everything from bags for the vacuum and windows they felt needed cleaning, to tables that were too small for their taste and a small crack in a corner of a mirror. They complained about things we have never claimed to provide: coolbags; hairdryers; private parking. We made every effort to respond where we could, providing a new steam iron and towels within 48 hours of them complaining about these, but they were clearly determined to find fault everywhere. I would encourage anyone who reads this review to read the other 5 reviews on this site which all say the complete opposite – e.g. “small and basic” vs. “very comfortable and clean with loads of space” and “It was very spacious and comfortable”. Another example: “poor quality furniture” and “lacking basics” vs. “This is a well maintained town house” and “it had everything we needed and more” and “All facilities are very clean and modern”. Draw your own conclusions.

A great place to chill out.

  • 5 of 5

We would highly recommend this place to stay, the villa was very comfortable and clean with loads of space. It had everything we needed and more. In particular we enjoyed the views from the roof terrace and the privacy to sunbathe. The location we found quiet which was fine for us, you are however close enough to Quesada to pop down for evening meals and do the odd bit of shopping. Most of the restaurants are good and not to dear, the fish and chips are to die for! I shall indeed be going back there.
