About Connie Kirk
I am a CPA with 25 years in the banking industry. In June 2016, I took a "retirement" package with the bank I was working for and decided to "retire" from the rat race of city living as well. I fell in love with the view from this house and the peace and tranquility of lake living, I purchased the Lake House in 2016 and began renovations. The downstairs was renovated to accommodate my two grown sons, but since they live close and rarely stay here. I love people and serving others is one of my gifts, so I decided to share the beauty and peace of my home with others by way of opening a Bed and Breakfast.
Connie Kirk purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2016
Why Connie Kirk chose Oakland
Almost every room from the Lake House has a breath taking view of Enid Lake with the added benefit of direct access to the lake and beautiful hiking trails.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
Although the Lake House is in a rural setting, it is located only 30 minutes from Oxford, Grenada and Batesville and only 15 from Water Valley and 20 from Charleston , MS. Memphis, TN and Jackson, MS are only 1.5 hours away. This is the perfect location to just rest and relax, or bring your boat and enjoy the pleasures of Enid Lake. The miles of walking trails are also home to equestrian guests, but you will have to bring your own horse and there are no accommodations for overnight stalling.

This is an awesome home away from home place to stay!!. I would highly recommend this to any couple(s) retreat. My fiancée and I wanted a secluded place with quietness & peaceful atmosphere,we found it!! Very beautiful sunrises in the morning on the lake!! Connie the owner is most delightful, helpful person you could ask for. She went outta her way to make sure we had an awesome stay.. We will be back ASAP Connie.. Thank you so much!!
Perfect lake getaway
You will not find a better view or place for a weekend getaway. We will definitely be going back. Connie, the owner, shows Mississippi hospitality at its finest.
Lake Enid home!! Perfect Getaway!!
Just an unbelievably wonderful home that is perfectly situated on the lake for views, fishing, relaxing and FUN!!! Connie was just the most gracious of hostess’ and she went above and beyond with a delicious pound cake to snack on and a lovely breakfast on Saturday!! We had forgotten some spices for our meal and she ran to the store to take care of us!! Wow!! We will be back!!!
A wonderful getaway and great for game weekends or just relaxing.
This location is a lovely, quiet retreat within driving distance of Oxford. It was perfect for our gameday weekend. Connie, the owner, is a gracious and accommodating hostess who made us feel completely at home. The guest areas are comfortable and well appointed, and the lake view is beautiful. We will definitely return.
Connie's place is a great place to spend a weekend or even a week, especially if you want to fish and enjoy the North Mississippi experience. The price is more than reasonable. The rooms are large, comfortable, and have that home away from home feeling. There's a game room with a pool table and TV, and a separate room with a refrigerator and facilities for breakfast. What a peaceful, relaxing time, as we sat on the covered patio, enjoying Connie's breakfast casserole and jealously watching all the Crappie fishermen on picturesque Enid Lake, It made us want to get a boat and get out there with them, which you can easily do because Connie's place is near the boat ramp. It's close enough to Oxford that you can easily get there for the ball games and college activities, and far enough away so that you can stay out of the way of the crowds. It's convenient to Grenada lake where you can Crappie fish and also golf at Dogwoods golf course, a secluded, challenging and fun course. You can also go north to Sardis lake and Mallard Pointe golf course, which is also secluded, fun and loaded with rolling hills and terrain. If you want a very reasonably priced weekend getaway or a relaxing week of the southern experience of fishing, golf, and access to college football and activities, then in my opinion, Connie's place is as good a place as you will find to do all of that. And, we are going to try to go there again, as soon as we can.
An excellent experience. Quiet and serene. Owner was very gracious and hospitable.
Our trip was planned for daughters graduation. Spent two nights, beautiful and convenient to the campus. We were able to relax and enjoy the amazing lake views without the Oxford hustle and bustle, that surround the town during graduation. Connie was very sweet and accommodating. Breakfast each morning was a delight. Accommodations were spacious and the pool table added to the fun. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. Look forward to visiting again.
