Upgraded 50's style house in the quiet part of Seaside. This house has many personal touches. Homemade quilts and nice beach accents. Close to beach, across street from city park, two blocks to golf course, three blocks to grocery and local Pub.
There are four bedrooms; two with one queen bed each and two with two singles each.
Newer appliances, also featuring icemaker and disposal for your convenience.
A propane BBQ is available for your use as well.
You will love Seaside for the same reason we settled here in 1997. There is always something to do for adults and children. Walking on the beach is a favorite, you can also head down to Broadway and ride the merry-go-round at the Carousel Mall (my grand-kid's favorite)or grab a ice cream cone from one of at least five vendors offering different flavors.
Property address 1940 S. Franklin St. Seaside, OR 97138
Just a married couple who enjoys providing a nice house at a reasonable price. We manage this rental.
Jim Eiler purchased this house in 2006
We love this cottage, it has been our "go-to" choice in Seaside ever since 2006. We have stayed in several other cottages in Seaside, but always stay in this one if it's available. We've always found it spotless and quiet, it's on the south side of Seaside where the prices are higher due to location, yet this is very reasonably priced. The cottage itself is darling, the pictures don't do it justice. The yard is very secure for our dog and unlike most vacation rentals, is just as nice to look at as the interior of the cottage. We always feel welcome in a place that feels like a home. It's a five minute walk from the prom (the walkway that is on the beach) as well as close to the golf course for a quick nine. There is a lovely little park right across the street. The cottage is also the most well equipped one we have stayed in anywhere. Jim has always been very easy and personable to deal with and responds very quickly to any queries or concerns. As far as the beeping fridge, we didn't notice an issue - it just seems typical of all new fridges. There's a great new front loading washing machine and I absolutely love the new gas fireplace! All in all it adds up to a most enjoyable and relaxing vacation and we will like always, be back!
This is a very nice home with plenty of room for 8 people. We were impressed with how clean, well kept and stocked it was and how cute the beach decorations throughout the home were. The owner was easy to work with too. The kitchen is larger than it appears in the photo. Plenty of prep room for 2-3 cooks. The bedrooms with twin beds (upstairs) were also larger than they appeared on the photos. The dining room table had a couple of leaves that made it comfortably seat 8 people. I noticed on the reviews here someone mentioned there was access to the garage but we didn't see the code anywhere for it. That may have changed somewhere along the line so perhaps bring your own beach toys and bikes. The grill wouldn't fire for some reason but everything except for the sometimes beeping fridge, the kitchen worked just fine so it was not a problem for us. It's a fairly long walk to downtown via the promenade but with a stroller for the babies and good walking shoes, the fabulous scenery made it worth while. I think this was a very good value for the price. We would book this property again the next time we bring our family to visit Seaside.
Second year we stayed here. Just as great as last year's stay.
Perfect in every way: had fenced yard for our two little dogs, grill, bikes, sand toys, folding chairs, high efficiency W/D, great beds. Fully equipped kitchen with all the condiments (don't buy mustard for your hot dogs). Spotless! We were visiting our minimalist kids and they had no room for us at their place, so we rented this & invited them to the coast. They loved having the vacation & we loved the room! Had 3 generations in one house and plenty of room to spread out & do their own thing without bothering others with noise. Built bonfires on the beach at sunset. Beach hikes in the dark (bring a headlamp.) Dau-in-law is park ranger and she insisted on the night hike--very cool! Drove & hiked up and down the coast. Tip: go to Cannon Beach for tide pools, Astoria for Farmer's Market & eat lunch while listening to the live music. Roadside stands had cherries and berries in season. We like resale shops. The Animal shelter's shop is great. Don't rent the surrey bike for an hour unless you have buff people to cycle! Loved the arcade. Plan to book next y ear.
This house was a great place to stay. The property was well maintained and decorated very nice. Private back yard was nice for our small dog. We have rented a few different houses through VBRO.com. I must say that this was the BEST. My family was very excited when we arrived (Mom did good with this one). My kids very much enjoyed the park across the street. The owner was very easy to work with and the place was clean. Wish we could have stayed longer. This is a place that we would like to go back and stay at again. You can't go wrong with this place if you are going as a family.
Wonderful, beautifully appointed house for great intergenerational stay. We were here for a month in July of 2011 and the whole family had a great time. It has a gas fireplace and is very comfortable. A big bonus for grandchildren; a fabulous family park across the street. It really does only house 8 people; the sofa is strictly for sitting. The house and beach, which is 3 quick blocks away are in the quiet part of town and an easy walk, bike or drive to the main part of Seaside.
