Wake-up spectacular sunrises and enjoy your vacation in this peaceful and uncrowded Caribbean Reef condo, located right on the Mayan Riviera beach, less than 100 feet from the Caribbean. This condo is unique among other condos in that your view and access to the beach are completely unobstructed and you have a large modern infinite edge swimming pool for your enjoyment. As you look over the infinite edge it blends into the Caribbean giving the illusion that you are in the ocean.
The beach in front of Caribbean Reef consists of soft white sand and the water is shallow, gradually becoming deep--it is perfect for swimming and wading and the snorkeling is excellent.
The Puerto Morelos location offers convenient access to authentic Mexican cuisine in the many restaurants, as well as a fresh food market, a daily fresh seafood market, and grocery store.
There are many ancient Mayan ruins and beautiful Yucatan cities to visit as well as tourist attractions and golf courses nearby for your exploration and enjoyment.
If you desire the excitement of Cancun or Playa del Carmen, they are just a short car, bus or cab ride away. After exploring the sites, escape back to rest, quiet and relaxation at Caribbean Reef. Enjoy a tropical drink on the balcony overlooking the infinite edge swimming pool and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
The condo has been updated with a new decor and natural cedar doors. It is a second floor unit and has two sides which can be separated for privacy: one side is a kitchenette with a queen size Murphy bed and sofa which sleeps two to three and the other is a studio with a king size bed, sleeping two. Each side has its own bathroom and shower. The condo is perfect for two couples or a family with two or three children.
This is a perfect location for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation!
As Minnesotans, we enjoy getting away from the long winters to locations that guarantee warm weather, beautiful and interesting attractions and friendly local people. Mexico's Mayan Riviera is one of our favorite spots.
Mike Curran purchased this condo in 2005
In 2005 we achieved our dream of purchasing a condo as our residence right on the ocean. As a bonus, our condo is very close to the friendly and authentic Mexican fishing village of Puerto Morelos. The town is non-touristy yet close to the cities of Cancun and Play del Carmen. We especially enjoy living among the Mayan and Mexican culture that is prevalent in the Yucatan area.
Let us share our residence and our dream with you!
Spectacular direct full views of the Caribbean from living room, balcony and bedroom, just as the pictures show.
I was looking for a relaxing and quiet place to recharge. This place was perfect. I go to Mexico 1-2x per year from all inclusive a to boutique hotels...and loved this place. Would definitely stay here again. If you're looking for nightlife, this is not the place.
Beautiful pool, spacious condo, and loved keeping the bedroom window open to hear the waves while I fell asleep and first thing when I woke. It was an easy walk into town for dinner and a few groceries...although we really couldn't find the shortcut path.
The only downside was the Internet was spotty and the beach wasn't well-groomed and not great for walking or running.
Stayed for 8 nights through until 29th of December. It was everything it was advertised to be. The unit is quite large and held 4 of us very well. This is self contained and has everything you need to do your own cooking. The staff is delightful, they will do their utmost to keep you happy and your unit running to your satisfaction. I would rate the staff a perfect 10. The pool is also a highlight. It is quite large and well maintained overlooking the ocean. This complex is on the south end of the town(which is also delightful) and unfortunately you cannot get to the town by the beach. If walking you have to take the road. We had a car so wasn't a problem and you can also rent bikes in town which people were doing. The restaurants in town are very good and I would pay attention to who the owners recommend in their information package once you sign up to stay. We were away on day trips but when we were home we thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation!! Would return for sure!!
We stayed at the Caribbean Reef Villa for two weeks. I would say it is close to perfect. The pool is amazing. The property is right on the beach. Nice and quiet. Only about 20 units. The staff do well maintaining the grounds. Our room was cleaned three times during our stay. Our one bedroom unit was larger than I thought it was going to be and the layout (murphy bed in the living room, two full bathrooms) would allow for having guests stay with you The only downside is the location. It is a bit less than a mile south of town but you cannot walk the beach into town. you either walk the road or walk by the perimeter of the shipping yard. We typically walked into town but took a taxi back (50 pesos). A location North of town would be better but the property itself is great.
This was my second stay in your condo. We had such a great time, and the condo is so pleasant! Perfect for a quiet getaway, and so close to lots of things to do. The pool and beach are beautiful and quiet, and I enjoyed more than a few hours on the balcony. Thanks so much!
First, I apologize for all the mistakes as English is not my langage.
With my husband and daughter, we were there for 3 weeks and we really enjoy the place and the condo. It was exactly what we need.
The bed was confortable, we appreciate the big water bottles and it was really clean. Enough room for us 3, probably ok for 4 too. Cooking ustensils were minimum but ok.
The staff, specially Marlene and Fernando, were very kind and helpful.
We found the ocean not so beautiful for swimming (but beautiful to watch it by our balcony), much rocks and not clear for snorkeling while we where there, not to much to see anyway. But, it was ok for shorts swims and we passed all our days just on the beach at the palapa that we enjoy to don’t have to « fight » to get one! We went some time in town, just in front of the hotel "Ojo de Agua" to do snorkeling and we take a tour to the reef one time.
Pool is wonderful.
The walking to the town was about 20 min, we walked to get there but we always took a cab for coming back at night as it's not really a nice walk and it is dark. My husband rent a bike in town so he was able to do the shopping in town every day. There is one grocery, a fruit and vegetables strores (they make delicious juices), the fishermen's coop, and on the third street, a man that we call him "mister freeze" as he sold all frozen (fish, meat).
Generaly, we enjoy everything, , the place is really beautiful and quiet.

My wife and I stayed at this charming condo for about a week. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The unit is spacious especially for just the two of us. Would be comfortable with four or five people for sure. The only downside to the unit was the mattress in the master bedroom. it was as hard as a rock. We switched to the Murphy bed in the living room and it was actually pretty comfortable. If there were not the option of a different bed, I may be writing a slightly different review. My suggestion to the owners would be to update that mattress and the condo would be perfect.
The pool was wonderful, the view was great as well. We watched pelicans diving for fish in the ocean. The ocean beach itself is pretty rocky. We did not swim in the ocean, rather we went scuba diving and explored other beaches. For me this was not a problem at all, but may be an issue for others.
The condo is in a pretty secluded area. very quiet and not many people around at all. Great for people seeking to get away from the huge tourist traps and noise of Cancun or Playa. This feature was probably the most important to me as I've stayed previously in Cancun and really hate obnoxious tourists. with that said, you really should have a car or bicycle if you want to enjoy the town of Puerto Morelos. The town is walkable, but it can get very hot and you probably don't want to walk this stretch every day. We rented a car and had a great time. I believe you can rent bikes in town for farely cheap as another option.
The town itself is very charming with many great restaurants. Our favorites: Chimichuris, Los Gauchos, and a great BBQ chicken and ribs shack down the street from Wet Set Scuba (hotel de Ojos).
The staff on hand were excellent. Armando, the night watchman was very helpful and pleasant especially when we had to check in late at night.
Overall I would give this place 4 stars. If the bed was better it would be five stars. If I stay in puerto again I would definitely consider this condo again.
There is good snorkeling right in front of the condo and kite surfing nearby!
