If you are looking for a luxury apartment to rent on the famous Platinum West Coast of Barbados within walking distance of the best beach on the island - you may have just found what you're looking for.
Our two bedroom apartment sleeps 4, has wonderful sea views and is set in well-tended tropical gardens, just a few steps from famous Mullins Beach. Fine sand and warm turquoise waters await for a pre-breakfast stroll or a lazy day in and out of the water.
Sun beds are available to rent as are jet skis and other water sports. You are just a short walk from Bombas bar and restaurant - the perfect spot to end the day and watch the spectacular sunsets.
The apartment's large terrace is open on two sides with views over the tropical gardens to the ocean beyond. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with the distant sound of waves breaking on the shore or enjoy a candle-lit dinner to a (rather louder) backing track of chirping tree frogs.
The inviting, shared swimming pool is adjacent to the apartment building; an oasis of tranquillity and a perfect spot for relaxing in the sun.

The large terrace is open on two sides, making it feel particularly spacious. Tropical plants from the gardens below create the foreground for a wonderful view of the ocean at Mullins Bay beyond.

The kitchen is modern and clean and fully equipped with everything you could need for your stay - right down to the espresso machine! There's a huge American-style fridge/freezer for the local beers and ice cream, a full oven and hob, a microwave and a dishwasher. There are laundry facilities too.

En-suite Master Bedroom
The main bedroom is a dual aspect room with a wonderful, high ceiling and the convenience of a modern en-suite shower room. The room is fully air conditioned and features a (really comfortable) king-size double bed. There is a dressing table and plenty of wardrobe space. A hairdryer is provided.

The second bedroom is a dual aspect room with views to the ocean side of the apartment. The room has twin beds, is fully air conditioned and has plenty of wardrobe space. The family bathroom is adjacent although not en-suite.

Pool and Gardens
Beacon Hill is a small gated community, set in beautifully landscaped tropical gardens. There is an inviting, shared pool and jacuzzi adjacent to the apartment. This is shared with just 5 other apartments and is never busy. There are loungers provided for sun worshippers and a shady retreat under the gazebo for escaping the midday heat.

We are Mark and Lisa Hammerton and live in Staplehurst, Kent. We have been lucky enough to spend many holidays in Barbados over the years and were even married there.

Why Mark & Lisa Hammerton chose Mullins
We bought Ocean View in 2013 after a long search and feel privileged to be able to call it our second home. The apartment is one of a very small number in the Beacon Hill community at Mullins Bay. When we first took a look around it felt 'absolutely right': it is in a truly splendid setting which is very well maintained and the apartment itself is extremely well finished and equipped. The most important reason for choosing Ocean View though: Location, Location, Location.
What makes this Apartment unique
For us, Ocean View is the perfect base to enjoy wonderful, relaxing holidays on the west coast of Barbados. It is extremely comfortable, has splendid sea views, a lovely pool and is within steps of a super beach. We only wish we could spend more time there ourselves!

Wonderful apartment, fabulous position, just great
We stayed in the apartment for 2 weeks over Christmas 2017. The apartment is one of the best we've stayed in with many many great little touches from appliances in the kitchen, all the mod cons, to the artwork on the walls. You cross one road, literally 20 seconds from the apartment and you are on the picture postcard Mullins beach. We frequented Mullins Beach Bar way too much, drinking copious amounts of Mojitos and rum!. The balcony is a perfect way to relax while taking in the sun.
The owners were really helpful, giving many good tips and as this is the first (but not the last) time in Barbados we appreciated the help. We would definitely stay again and again.

AMAZING apartment, perfect location!
We've had an amazing couple of weeks in Barbados. The apartment is beautifully decorated and furnished with lovely fluffy towels! Very well equipped kitchen and entertainment system and a totally amazing terrace on which we enjoyed breakfast every morning. The owners were very helpful before arrival, arranging collection from the airport and a hire car on our behalf. Also sending a really useful information pack before we arrived. The property manager Ann and housekeeper Kathy were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The apartment was kept immaculate by Kathy visiting every other day, I even caught her doing our washing one day!! The location of the apartment in our view was perfect, we visited lots of areas and whilst we found some other stunning beaches, the closeness to Mullins Beach and Beach Bar was fabulous. We love the West Coast, so perfect for us. Our favourite restaurant, which is a must to visit, is Bombas, just a short walk north of Mullins Beach. Really can't recommend this place enough....will recommend to all our friends (so long as they don't want to come and stay the same time as us!!). Thanks Mark and Lisa, we'll be back! :)

Stunning Apartment in a fantastic location
We have just come back from Ocean View and I have to say, we were blown away.
Prior to going, I had so much help from Lisa and Mark, the owners, to make sure we knew about Barbados, the local area and the facilities at Ocean View. They sent a handy welcome pack, 6 weeks before, that had so much information on things to do, which was a fab kick start to us planning our trip. They also organised for us to be collected from the airport and for any groceries we wanted at the apartment, to be there.
We knew, from the pictures the apartment would be lovely and the area looked great, but we were still completely stunned by how lovely Ocean View was. it is stunning and all the furniture and decor is so beautiful and really high end. It certainly had the WOW factor. But it just kept getting better and better, as we lived there, as anything we could have needed or wanted was there. There is nothing this place does not have.
Once you have taken in the apartment, you then walk out on to the balcony, which just has such a lovely view of the beach and is such a comfortable place to relax during the day. It is also a stunning location to dine out on, in the evening, as it is beautifully lit and looks so pretty.
While we were there, we were so well looked after by Ann and Kathy and there is nothing that wouldn't help you with or advise you on. It was so lovely to have them popping in to look after us, and keep the property immaculate.
The apartment is just opposite the beautiful Mullins Beach. We were so close by that we used to get up, and run down to the beach, before anyone else was down there. It was so lovely to be able to swim, with nobody else around, before we headed back up for breakfast.
I could go on and on about the beauty of Ocean View and the Mullins Beach area, but don't let me spoil the surprise for you. Make the trip and see for yourself. It will be one of those holidays you will never forget.

Perfect holiday at Ocean View
We have just returned from a perfect holiday at Ocean View, Mullins. Having stayed in Mullins before, we knew that it is our favourite area in Barbados. This apartment was the best we have stayed in: The apartment itself is spacious and airy, very well equipped so we were able to dine in in comfort, we especially enjoyed evening meals and breakfasts on the balcony with the sound of the sea in the background. It is such a treat to have the beautiful Mullins beach across the road and in addition, the pool area was quiet and most of the time we had it to ourselves. All correspondence with the owner has been prompt and efficient, and when in Barbados, the manager Ann welcomed us and the house-keeper Kathy looked after us really well and was happy to work around our schedule. Thank you Lisa and Mark, we cannot wait to return!

Excellently maintained property in good position.
Extremely well equipped apartment - staff excellent. Well positioned for Mullins Beach just steps across the road. Gardens well maintained and lovely pool area. Would stay again. Lots of activities within Barbados - car isn't a necessity but would recommend for ease of travel. Several local restaurants including Bombas and Sea Cat are well worth a visit.

We visit Barbados every year, always staying somewhere on the west coast. We had a wonderful 3 weeks here over Christmas with our 18 year old daughter. The apartment has absolutely everything you need from Netflix TV and comfy sofas in lounge to cool box, ice maker and quality coffee machine in kitchen. The apartment is just set back from the main west coast road, so there is a little traffic noise on the balcony. However you soon get used to it and it disappears when balcony doors closed. You can pick up a local bus just outside - just 70p wherever you want to go. Alternatively, like us, hire a car for at least part of your holiday visiting the Rum factory, Harrison's Caves and North point . The Round House or The Atlantis on East coast great places for lunch. We had a power cut one night ( common here) but the White Company scented candles provided created a very romantic atmosphere. We enjoyed all of the premier restaurants along this coastline but the best night by far was Simon Cowell's charity auction, which we attend every year. Apartment very clean, light and airy and property manager always on hand to offer help and advice if needed.

The nearby beach is ideal for everyone. The gently shelving fine sand and warm waters make it perfect for young children while teenagers can take to a jet ski or enjoy other water sports from the beach. Royal Westmoreland use this beach for their beach club with attended service to some sun beds. For everyone else, there are plenty of beds and parasols to rent by the day with drinks and ice creams sold from a little kiosk on the beach. The beach is perfect for a morning stroll before breakfast. Depending on the tide it is a lovely walk around to Gibbs Bay with the palm-fringed sands and turquoise waters looking at their best in the early morning light. To reach the beach from Ocean View, follow the short path through the gardens to the keypad entry/exit gate. The beach is then just across the road. For a change, try the beach at Alleynes Bay slightly to the south and near to the Fairmont Royal Pavilion hotel and the Lone Star restaurant. Access is down a path next to Ju-Ju's bar with beds available to hire. Catamarans often moor here as it's a great place to go swimming with the local turtles. Mullins Bay is in the parish of St. Peter, just to the north of St. James. The main town in St. Peter is Speightstown (pron. spyts-town) which is the second largest town in Barbados. This is a very historical place and was once the busiest port on the island. Today, it has taken on a more relaxed feel and is very pleasant to wander around with a choice of bars and restaurants, a bank and a Jordan's supermarket. Speightstown is home to St. Peter's Parish Church, which is one of the oldest in Barbados having been built in the 1630's. To the north of Speightstown is Port St. Charles, an impressive development of town houses and apartments around a central marina. To the east, lies St. Nicholas Abbey, built in 1650 and apparently one of only three remaining Jacobean properties in the western hemisphere. The house is surrounded by 225 acres of sugar cane fields and is open to the public on special occasions. Holetown was the first settlement in Barbados and the main town in St. James, just to the south and 10 minutes' drive from Ocean View. As well as the new Limegrove shopping complex featuring luxury brands, Holetown offers a very good supermarket, a branch of Cave Shepherd (department store) and a number of individual gift shops in the colourful Chattel Village. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to bars and restaurants nearby. We list below some of our favourites: Bombas: Just across the road and right on the sea with wonderful views and a laid-back feel. Plenty of full-on flavours from Wayne and his team. Ju-Ju's Bar: On Alleynes Bay, just to the south. Wonderfully informal and a great spot to drink a rum punch as the sun sets. Try the flying fish! The Tides: In Holetown and one of our favourites. Super food and wonderful service. Cin Cin: In Prospect, south of Holetown. Elegant, modern restaurant in a great location overlooking the sea. The Cliff: Say no more... Costly but a great all-round experience. Cricket is the national sport of Barbados and the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown often plays host to many international matches. Golf can be enjoyed at a range of excellent courses on the island. Sandy Lane alone has three courses but Royal Westmoreland, Apes Hill and the Barbados Golf Club also offer challenging courses. Polo is a very popular sport in Barbados and is played by international teams in front of significant crowds of locals and tourists. There are four polo fields at Holders, Lion Castle, Clifton and Apes Hill. Fishing is as much a way of life as a sport for many Barbadians. There are many deep sea fishing charters available with a chance to catch Barracuda, Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado and Blue and White Marlin.

Please note: The maximum party size is 4. We may be able to supply a cot/high chair on request – please ask at the time of booking. Although we state 1 week minimum stay, your holiday does not need to be a multiple of 7 nights and we are happy to try to fit in with your flight plans as far as reasonably possible.
We request a 25% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking with the balance payable six weeks before arrival. The balance is also non-refundable once paid. All prices are quoted in Sterling (GBP) and we accept payment in Sterling or US Dollars. Payment can be made by Bank Transfer or Credit Card.
