Bedrooms 1
Property type house

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, Sleeps 2

Sunnyside's newest tiny house is bigger than its footprint and close to everything you need to live in Portland. Stumptown coffee. The restaurants on Division and the bars on Belmont. Biketown bike share. Mt. Tabor and Laurelhurst Park. New Season's Grocery store. Powell's books and backyard chickens. This two-story tiny house has a full kitchen with a gas range, a washer-dryer combo, a truly comfortable bed, radiant heat for socked feet, 13 windows, 3 skylights and two red dutch doors.

Whether you're in town for business or to explore the city, this tiny house in one of Portland's finest locations with a straight shot to downtown and mere blocks from everything you could need or want is tucked away in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood where rest comes easy.

The house has a wrap around porch ideal for morning coffee or an afternoon beer. For those rainy nights the metal porch roof will put you to sleep like a baby.

Our family lives in the main house on the front of the property and we love this city. We'll be more than happy to chat, answer questions, offer suggestions, but with a private key pad entry the tiny house is set up to offer guests as much privacy as they wish.

Fantastic little Gem in a hip little part of Portland

  • 5 of 5

Loved this little guest house. Very cute house with everything you need to enjoy your stay. It’s small but extremely well designed. Also a pretty short walk away from amazing restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Hip little area. I highly recommend. Owners are also super nice with excellent communication.

We had a fantastic 3-night stay at this Tiny House! Amy and Wes have built a true gem for anyone looking to explore Portland. The neighbourhood is full of great restaurants, lounges, and coffee shops. It's close to transit, making it easy to come and go. The tiny house itself is impeccable and flawless. So well built and thoughtfully designed. There is more than enough space! The home was cleaned, fully functional, and was so comfortable! Amy and Wes were easy and quick to communicate with. 5 out of 5 stars!

About Amy and Wes

When we were younger we lost moments by thinking there's more out there. But the lessons of time (being parents has helped), has made us try harder to be present, to let the future be special, but not more special than the now. When the day in day out pushes us too far into the future, traveling always brings us back to the present.

Amy and Wes purchased this house in 2017

Why Amy and Wes chose Sunnyside

We love Portland, we love calling this city home, so the goal in building the tiny house was building a space that felt like home to travelers, whether it be for one night or ten. Just stepping out into the neighborhood provides everything you need to feel like a Portlander, but the hope was not only feeling like a Portlander when you are out but also when you come home. The two-story tiny house has a full kitchen with a gas range because this city is surrounded by the best organic produce in the world. The comfy bed looks up at three skylights so you can see what you're sleeping under. The 13 windows turns the tiny house into a tree house. And the two doors, well the two red dutch doors because dutch doors are just cool.

What makes this house unique

You could come planning to see Portland and be content never leaving the neighborhood. With that said, we also love the key pad lock and how it makes coming and going so easy. And how the downstairs kitchen space is where we always find ourselves hanging out. And how the wrap around porch is perfect for morning coffee or an afternoon beer and book. And how the tall ceilings and sky lights make upstairs feel like sleeping in a tree house. And the metal porch roof how it makes it hard to get out of bed on rainy mornings. To us there is just something magical about the space. It's in the middle of everything, but quiet and peaceful. It's tiny but it's huge. It's brand new but it looks two hundred years old. It just feels like home.
