Beautiful House/Lovely area
The house was very clean, open and inviting and had a beautiful view of the mountains and the sea-Eileen pays very good attention to detail and you can tell the effort she places into making sure your stay is perfect-thank you Eileen!!!. The kitchen had all the supplies you need to make meals each day and there was plenty of seating if you are traveling with a larger group, it was just myself and my husband so we didn't need all the room but here was plenty of it. We never watched tv as we were either touring around the area each day or sitting in front of the picture windows watching the view. Many nights we were treated to a beautiful sunset, we saw seals most days and the occasional sailboat or kayaker would drift by. Places of interest we visited were Roundstone (here you can find the beautiful beaches of Gurteen and Dog's Bay along with Errisbeg Mountain, shops and pubs, Inishee Island (has a wonderful walk that looks out over the sea and the mountains), Clifden (a very lovely town 25-35 minutes away-depending on traffic- with a SuperValue, loads of pubs, restaurants and shopping), Connemara National Park, the Sky Loop, and some of the Wild Atlantic Way. We ran out of time so were unable to do Kylemore Abbey but it is just a short distance away and looked pretty. We also took in horse back riding in the town of Cleggan just a few minutes outside of Clifden and walked around the Derrygimlagh Bog where Alcock and Brown landed-we toured the bog after visiting the Station House museum in Clifden which gave added information about Alcock and Brown. All and all we had a pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a house with character and charm, a very nice lady who wants to make sure you enjoy your stay, and a central location to area attractions.
The True Ireland
On April 14, 2018 myself, my daughter, and a dear friend arrived at this lovely home and was greeted by Mrs. Connally. She gave the information we needed to navigate the island and to get the most out of our vacation.
The home was immaculate and contained everything needed to make our stay comfortable. The view of the 12 Bens Mountains, the Atlantic and the rocky coast not to mention the rainbows were etched in my mind forever.
I hope to return to this lovely place and to see its lovely owner and Irelands people again. Pat Barbosa
Thank you I am delighted when guests enjoy themselves. Teach Greine is situated on the Wild Atlantic way with views of the mountains and sea that can be enjoyed, just sitting and looking our the big windows.
Absolutely stunning place!
Just returned from a beautiful stay at Teache Greine (i hope I've spelt that right). From the moment we arrived, Eileen couldn't be more helpful. She gave us information on everything we needed to know, even got some groceries in for us for when we arrived, and overall made sure our accomadation was perfect. Which it was. It was my mums birthday on the Saturday also, and Eileen got some beautiful flowers and a lovely card for her, which i thought was so kind, and the flowers were beautiful. We enjoyed every single day of our stay, even when the weather wasn't great, the views were amazing and sitting in front of the log fire watching the views were perfect. We cant thank you enough Eileen, thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home. We will definitely be returning at some point.

Thank you I am always delighted when guests enjoy themselves. Even when the weather is not so kind you can sit and look out the big windows at the wind on the sea and relax.
Peaceful and beautiful location
Thank you for a lovely stay in a beautiful part of Ireland. The house was perfect and we were very comfortable and happy there. Beautiful views from all the windows and lovely to be by the sea. Lovely kitchen and will think about some of the things you are doing to be more eco friendly ourselves.
Thank you, I am delighted when guests enjoy themselves, in a peaceful place, surrounded by nature, the sea and the mountains.
Excellent home in the Connemara area
My husband and I stayed here for 11 nights during our first vacation to Ireland. We were very happy with our choice! The home is beautiful, comfortable, clean, came with everything we could possibly need, and served as a perfect "home base" while we enjoyed touring Connemara. Stunning views from the home. Really enjoyed having a washing machine too! We greatly appreciated Eileen sharing her suggestions in the area as well as maps and tide tables. We hope to return someday soon!
Thank you I am delighted when guests enjoy themselves. Sit and enjoy the stunning views from the big windows of the sea and mountains and the sunsets and the ever changing colours of the sky.
Everything we'd dreamed about and more.
It's wonderful when your expectations are exceeded. We wanted a comfortable home on the sea that would allow us to enjoy the best of Connemara. We came to Teach Greine to celebrate our 20th Anniversary, and hoped for a private house that would reconnect us to the wild beauty of Western Ireland that we'd fallen in love with 20 years ago on our honeymoon. We could not have anticipated quite how magical our time at Teach Greine would be. Eileen was a gracious hostess, welcoming us with roses and a card for our anniversary, food staples, and an excellent orientation to the house and the region. The house had everything we needed. It was warm and cozy even on the windiest of days. The fireplace added charm, and the views of the sea and the 12 Bens from the picture windows were nothing short of spectacular. The ever changing sky made each look out the windows unique. We loved walking the gorgeous property, abundant with wildflowers and lovely grasses. We spotted sea otters, seals, and plenty of bird life. It was easy for us to make day trips all over the region including Clifden, Roundstone, Leenane, Kylemore Abbey, Oughterard, Ballynihinch, Inishbofin, Omey Island, Dog's Bay, Connemara National Park, Galway City, and more. Restorative beauty around every corner. We were even able to make it up to Ballycastle and Westport in Co. Mayo. We looked forward to cooking meals in Teach Greine's perfectly planned kitchen, and took advantage of many great bars and pubs in the area as well. It was very hard for us to leave Teach Greine. We hope to be back again soon.
Thank you, I am delighted when guests enjoy themselves. Connemara is spectacular, the ever changing colours of the countryside, sea and sky. Enjoy the serene ambience of Connemara looking through the picture windows in Teach Greine.
There is a scenic walk from the house with splendid views of the Twelve Bens mountain range and magnificent Bertraghboy Bay and on a good sunny evening there are majestic west of Ireland sunsets. Experience the tranquility of the local beach in Moyrus. A drive to Kylemore Abbey & Victorian walled gardens is a must. The Connemara National Park is well worth a visit. The harbour village of Roundstone can be been seen across the bay, which is an artist haven, and the nearby splendid beaches of Gurteen and Dogs Bay are another must-see. Clifden, the main town in Connemara has lots to offer including craft shops, restaurants, walks ,museum and the Sky Road drive is worth it for the views.
