About Eileen Noonan Connolly

My name is Eileen Noonan Connolly a widow and I live with my two cats in Letterard, Cashel, beside Teach Greine the holiday home. I am an aspiring artist but previously worked for 30 years as a Laboratory Technician in the Shellfish Research Laboratory Carna four miles from here. I was reared in Tubbecurry Co Sligo. I enjoy gardening, walking and hill walking.

Eileen Noonan Connolly purchased this house in 2013

Why Eileen Noonan Connolly chose Ireland

I designed this house 15 years ago with a Eco concept with the help of my beloved husband Josie who died in 2004 and I have slowly worked on the house till it's completion this July 2013.

What makes this house unique

It is a dream house beside the sea where you can experience the solitude and beauty of Connemara.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have rented houses all over the world. But we must say that Teach

Greine clearly is one of our favorites. The house promises, what the

photos show. The location and the views are incredible. We could see a

seal every day. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything is very

clean. Eileen is not only a very welcoming host, but has even stocked

the fridge. We enjoyed our stay very much. Teach Greine is a wonderful

starting point to explore Connemara and definitely worth a trip.

Warm welcome in a superb and fully accomodated house at the seaside with a splendid view!

  • 5 of 5

We were warmly welcomes by the owner at this beautiful house at the seaside. Everything we needed was available. There were plenty of beds, big rooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equiped kitchen and even an open fire! We enjoined our station very much. Great nature, beautiful environment and plenty of things to see and do in the area. We've made nice walks and enjoined visiting Roundstone, Clifden and they abbey of Killary. Top location for those who love nature and adore the absolute quiet environment.

The new, bright and perfectly equipped house is situated in a superb landscape right at the sea, pure nature: no noise but always a nice seabreeze. Eileen Connolly is a very warm, friendly and interesting person who makes your stay really comfortable. We had a beautiful week with plenty of lovely weather and know that we want to come back. Very nice week in Connemara

  • 5 of 5

We spent a very nice week in Connemara end April.

We have very appreciated the very clean & quiet house, located 15m to the sea and more particularly:

In the living room :

- The unique & splendid view to Errisbeg, Roudstone, the bay and the twelves Bens...

- The bay & sunset observation area (bow-window of the living room)

- The fireplace

The wide kitchen & dining area was also perfect for cooking & dining.

I have very appreciated all the flyers, touristic guides and the detailed maps, made available by Eilleen to prepare our daily visits: Lough Bolea, lough aliggan Moyrus Beach & Carna; Roundstone , errisbeg & the gorteen bay; Kylemore Abey; Killary harbour, Leenane & the Aasleagh Falls; the Connemara National Parc , the 12 bens & Diamond Hill; Omey Island; the bog road & Ballyconnelly bay; Clifton , the shopping and the sky road; the landing site of Alcock & Brown in Derrigimlach.

Post Office, Petrol & Food are available in Carna and in Clifden.

Conclusion : A perfect house and a wonderful region for nature lovers.

Merci Eilleen.

A wonderfull place, a lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is well situated by the sea, with a beautiful view on the bay and Connemara mountains. The house is comfortable with large rooms, clean, and well decorated with nice paintings. We had a very pleasant welcome, the owner is really a very nice person (as much as most of Irish people, that's the reason why we love them and their country). We were sory about only one thing: not beeing able to speak English better (luckyly, one ff us could speak English better thanks to his irish origins).

Unforgettable holidays for all of us. Thank you very much, Eileen.
