About Mr. Bertel Dahlmand Stahn
Lisbeth and I have for 14 years been travelling all over Catalonia to visit properties. We have selected those, which we found of very good standard and situated in authentic settings. In the beginning, we mostly had Danish clients, but now we help people from all over the world to have a nice holiday in Catalonia in collaboration with our fantastic homeowners. Our company SYDENS FERIEHUSE consists now besides us of our kind employees, Gustav, Emma and Mathias. We will all be happy to help you to a fantastic holiday! Our philosophy is that a nice holiday consists of a nice holiday home and then some nice activities and excursions during the stay. We have made Activity documents for each part of Catalonia with our personal recommendations, and we will also be happy to help with any kind of question or request you might have. It is part of our service :-) Kind regards, Bertel Dahlmand Stahn (owner) SYDENS FERIEHUSE

El Solsonés is a region of the Pre-Pyrenees. The landscape is a contrasting mixture of forest, fields, villages and areas with wild nature, typically steep cliffs and mountains. The area is divided into 15 smaller areas, of which only six are real villages. The area consists mainly of scattered farms, of which some are excellent examples of Catalan rural architecture mostly from the 18 century, but some even back to 15 century. For the same reason El Solsonés has been called: The country of thousand farms. The area has ample opportunity for large nature, sports and cultural experiences. It is a landscape that has evolved over centuries with a very particular balance between nature and urban use. The town of Solsona has a population of 8000 on a total area of 18 km2 and as the rest of the region can easily keep its primary trademarks. Here you can enjoy an elevated tranquility in the middle of a very rich historical and cultural environment.
The Carnival in Solsona.
The Carnival, which is held in February each year, and continues through a two week period, is one of the greatest events in Solsona and a carnival famous throughout Spain. The giants are part of a long cultural history which has been maintained in Solsona, and really flares up during the yearly carnival.
The cathedral in Solsona.
The cathedral is, and not without reason, the most famous edifice in Sosona. It has become an emblem of the city. What today is called 'the cathedral' is a complex mix of different buildings of which some are built in the period from 11. - 18.century. The current cathedral is a Gothic cathedral, which was built between 1299 and 1630. To the left of the picture below, you see the old village church, an intimate little church which, among others contain a unique altarpiece in the Baroque style. To the right in the picture is the Chapel of Claustre, the current cathedral, which was built in honour of the city's guardian angel.
