Why Hilary Webster chose Weymouth
Grooms is small and cosy, the perfect place to unwind from the everyday stresses and strains. Couples love to return after spending their honeymoons here. Many guests say they have never been in such a quiet location, and often oversleep. Your dogs (max.2) pref small are allowed at an extra cost of £5 per dog per day and £20 per pet for the week. Contact owner for more details. Owner has a pet owners do's and don'ts list in the cottage. The location of the property is unique, and guests love to see all the wild life and the total peace that this cottage has to offer. My guest books tell the story of how much these holidays have been enjoyed over the past 12 years that this has been a holiday property. I hope you will come and enjoy it for yourself.
What makes this Cottage unique
Situated down its own private driveway, with plenty of parking. Comfortable chairs outside the cottage to enjoy a glass of wine before walking up the drive to the local pub - the Elm Tree. Excellent fresh food cooked to order. Well known for its local fish and local sourced produce. The cottage is situated in its own little micro climate, and benefits from being in the folds of the valley where it is very sheltered. The pet sheep graze in front of the Lounge window, and the birds and wildlife are in abundance.

Lovely holiday at the Groom’s Cottage
Very nice place, relaxing and friendly. It felt like we had escaped the world for a few days.
Away from it all
A peaceful and delightful spot. A comfortable cottage, well equipped and with plenty of outside seating to take advantage of late sunny afternoons. Friendly and helpful owner on site
Couldn't ask for more
Everything we expected - clean, well presented and equipped. Came away feeling relaxed and rested. Would definitely go again.
Perfect little cottage with everything you could need, lots of walks nearby and so much to do within a 15 minute drive in either direction. All sorts of birds to watch from the kitchen window. Hilary was near by to help with any issues (not that there were any). Had a beautiful weekend
Lovely cottage in a magical location
Beautiful cottage in a very quiet location. Loved all the wildlife at the door. Hilary is a very helpful owner providing those little extras that make the difference.
However, not impressed by HomeAway’s competence of booking and payment. Have stayed at many holiday cottages over the last thirty years without any problems whatsoever. HomeAway need to improve their systems as arriving to be told that the cottage has been cancelled is not the most relaxing way of starting your holiday.
Thank you for your very kind review. I am just so sorry you had all the problems with your booking from Homeaway. Hopefully they will learn from their mistake and it will not happen again.
I am pleased you enjoyed the peace and quiet that Groom's Cottage offers, and the ever increasing wildlife that visit.
I do hope to see you both again. Kind regards Hilary
Attractive, well equipped cottage in peaceful location
We had a lovely 3 day break. The owner, Hilary was on hand if we needed her. Great location for walks and good pub nearby.
Thank you for your kind review. I am so pleased you enjoyed your break, and look forward to seeing you again. Kind regards Hilary
Walking distance to the famous Chesil beach, but only 6 miles from Weymouth and 9 miles from Dorchester.
Plenty of walks to take in the stunning views of Abbotsbury and surrounding areas along the coastal path. The Elm Tree public house is a short walk into the village, next door to the Norman church of St. Peter. The Fleet Lagoon famous for the Abbotsbury Swannery, and subtropical gardens is approximately 1 mile down a country bridleway.
