The location catches the sun all day and the village is both quaint and quiet. The villagers are very friendly and you can buy wine and home made cheese a few houses away. The swimming pool is highly insulated and the water temperature can go up to 32c degrees in the summer.
The village is just like the rural Portugal that I fell in love with twenty years ago. Within 7 minutes of Penela and 25 minutes to the city of Coimbra

Although newly built this villa is crammed with charm. Located on the edge of a rural village the villa offers you tradition but with a modern twist. Close to the charming medieval town of Penela which is crowned by a castle straight from a fairy tale you can have all the modern amenities without the hustle and bustle.
A short drive are the huge Roman Ruins at Conimbriga and Rabacal. The university town of Coimbra is another short drive (25 mins) Lisbon and Porto and about an hour and a half drive.
Local festivals abound in Central Portugal and at the end of September one of the biggest ones takes place in Penela - the Festa of Sao Miguel. Here you can sample the honey, nuts and wine of the region.
