Yosemite National Park Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Lupin Cabin - Beautiful one-bedroom cabin just minutes from Yosemite Valley

Yosemite Hilltop Cabins are located within the gates of Yosemite National Park in the tiny community of Foresta. It is hard to believe that such a quiet and peaceful place like this exists just fifteen minutes from the sometimes bustling Yosemite Valley.

NOTE – This listing is for the Lupin Cabin. The listing and availability calendar for the Sage Cabin is also on VRBO/HomeAway under property number 815550. Both cabins are on the same property, have the same floor plan, and are furnished almost identically.

Reviews for both cabins are on this listing (115073). We created the separate listing for the Sage Cabin in early February 2016. We hope to get some reviews soon.

The cabins are very private. Even though the Sage and Lupin Cabins are located next to each other they are oriented to maintain maximum privacy. Each cabin has 17-foot-tall wood beam ceilings with ceiling fans and lots of windows to take advantage of the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. When you are at the cabins you can see the top of El Capitan, Yosemite's world famous 3000 ft tall granite cliff.

Each cabin has a master bedroom with a comfy king-size bed and down comforter. They also have a full bath, full kitchen, and reading loft. Each cabin also has its own patio with a high quality Weber gas barbecue

When you arrive at your cabin there will be fresh linens on the bed and clean towels in the bathroom. There will be brand-name shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the bathroom. You will only need to bring food, clothes, and personal toiletry items.

Fantastic hiking and running trails with wildflowers, waterfalls, and wildlife can be accessed right from the cabins.

The Sage and Lupin cabins are available for nightly rental. Each cabin has a TV/DVD player. There is a small DVD library to pick from or you can bring your own movies.

The kitchen has all the cookware and dinnerware that you will need to prepare and serve meals. The kitchen also has a microwave oven, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, and coffee maker.

The cabins are heated in the winter by propane heaters that look like wood-burning stoves. Both cabins have air conditioning for your summer comfort.

Some cell phones work at the cabins. Verizon is the best. Each cabin has a land-line telephone for use during your stay.

There is satellite internet provided by HughesNet. There is a cap on the amount of bandwidth that is available. PLEASE DO NOT STREAM MOVIES OR WATCH VIDEOS AS IT WILL IMPACT GUESTS THAT ARRIVE AFTER YOU.

As of November 2014 there is no longer a hot tub at the cabins. It was a tough decision but keeping the hot tub clean and in working order finally became too much.

Current Yosemite road and weather conditions can be found by calling Yosemite National Park at 209-372-0200. Current road conditions in the State of California can be found by calling Caltrans at 800-427-7623.

Grocery Stores/Markets near cabins – Crane Flat Gas Station/Market (8 miles), Yosemite Village Market (13 miles), El Portal Market on Hwy 140 (14 miles).

Lovely little cabin.

We enjoyed our stay at Lupin Cabin. The cabin is well stocked with everything we needed. Very comfortable. Convenient location. I would recommend this to my friends.

Great again!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Lupin cabin. The cabin is clean and comfortable and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend staying here for a great place to come "home" to while at Yosemite. We bring our own food and use the well-equipped kitchen to cook. We enjoy the hiking and photo opportunities that Yosemite offers. Steve and Karen provide all the information you need to enjoy your stay and will answer questions promptly if you have any. My husband and I are just two but a family of four would be quite comfortable in the space. Even two couples (who know they get along) would be comfortable. Kids will love the loft space! You don't have to hesitate, if you like the pictures you see of the cabin and you think you might like it I guarantee that you will!

Great Quiet Cabin

  • 4 of 5

Definitely a great place to stay. The small community within Foresta is nice, secluded from the main inflow of visitors and nestled in a quiet spot up on the hills above Yosemite Valley. Cabin was perfect for us (just myself and my wife) and includes everything you need. It was very clean and tidy when we got there.

The location is superb for driving around the park and being able to access multiple places without any serious length of driving.

Would stay here again.

Wonderful time in Yosemite

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very convenient but far removed from the crowds of Yosemite. The house was spotless on our arrival and very well equipped (books, movies, information about Yosemite, very well-stocked kitchen). Steve was great to communicate with and a wonderful host. Highly recommended!!

Quiet retreat adjacent to Yosemite Park

  • 5 of 5

Yosemite Park now averages over 4 million tourists a year! That makes for a lot of gridlock in the valley and even on Tioga Road. The Hilltop cabins in Foresta give you access to the park, but keep you away from the gridlock. The cabin was very comfortable and well-equipped. We especially enjoyed the comfortable couch in the living room to relax on and read or talk or look out the large windows where there is a lot of nature, but no people.
