PRIVATE STRUCTURE. Pratelle is an old farmhouse composed of two residential units dating back to the last century; over the years it has undergone successive renovations until 2000 when it took on its present form. The farmhouse is situated in a 33-hectare farm, on the highest part of a hill surrounded by woodland, vineyards and olive groves. The renovation was carried out with attention to the smallest details so as to offer guests an unforgettable holiday in the beautiful Umbrian countryside, close to the town of Orvieto. The choice of materials for the interior, such as terracotta for the floors, wooden beams and tiles for the ceilings harmonizes perfectly with the simplicity of the furnishings. The villa is surrounded by a beautiful garden with a splendid view over the surrounding countryside. Its location facilitates visits to numerous places of historical and cultural interest such as Orvieto, Todi and Perugia in Umbria and many Tuscan towns like Chiusi, Sarteano, Chianciano, San Casciano dei Bagni and, for nature lovers, the possibility of organizing pleasant excursions to the Lake of Bolsena.
MAIN HOUSE. The main house has three floors. The main entrance is on the ground floor which is composed of a living room with dining area with large central fireplace and access to the porch outside through a large French window. The dining area is connected to the kitchen through an archway. On this floor are also a toilet and laundry room. An interior staircase leads up to the first floor composed of a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower. Another open staircase connects the first floor to the second floor with a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower, ANNEX. The annex has two floors. The main entrance is on the ground floor which is composed of a living room with dining area, kitchenette, bathroom with shower for disabled persons and a twin bedroom. The living room has access to the outside through large French windows. From the ground floor a staircase leads up to the first floor with a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower.
The farmhouse is surrounded by one hectar of garden with a well-kept lawn. The garden is full of shrubs and rose bushes and aromatic plants and, near the main house, centuries-old mulberry trees which give shade in the hot summer days. At the back of the house, right outside the dining room, is a porch furnished with wooden lounge suite and table and chairs so that guests can organize enjoyable alfresco meals.
The pool is set between the main house (50 m) and the annex (10 m). It is open from the first Saturday of May until the first Saturday of October. It is rectangular in shape and measures 12 x 6 m with a depth varying from 1.50 to 2.50 m; access to the water is by Roman steps. The internal wall of the pool is lined in PVC and purification is by chlorine. It is situated in a beautiful lawn and is completely enclosed with wire netting and paling with two small wooden gates at either end which make it ideal for the safety of children. The solarium area is provided with sunbeds with sunshade and deckchairs. At the side of the pool is a large gazebo for those wishing to stay out of the sun. Outside the annex, which is just a few metres from the pool, are two rooms for pool use with a bathroom and a hot water shower.

Needless to say that the setting and layout of the Pratelle villa is perfect. With woods around it, on a hill of 450m high, we enjoyed a nice breeze even during the hottest days. We were there for a week (what a shame, should have spent more time), 11 people, four generations spanning ages from 91 to 7 months. The rooms were spacious, well equipped and clean, the facilities and amenities were as you would expect form a villa at this level. We enjoyed and made good use of the built-in barbecue and pizza oven and of course of the nice swimming pool. Liliana, the local manager was very friendly and forthcoming during the whole stay. Orvieto is really close for a nice tour or for shopping for groceries, but Morrano Nuovo can also provide closer and immediate needs with a small store and a nice family restaurant. All in all, Pratelle is highly recommended.
Immersed in country side,. located at 8 few Km the Motorway A1, exit Orvieto, it is a good starting point for whom like tours and sightseeing all over Tuscany, Umbria or Lazio. The important Umbrian cities like Todi, Perugia, Assisi and so on can be easily reached by the E45 super way. Orvieto has an important railway station that make easy visit by train the major cities like Rome or Florence avoiding the traffic and the parking problem.
