The house was great and the management team very responsive. The few minor items that needed addressing where handled quickly without issue. The rooms were clean and large. The location was great - very near town and a great reef out the back door (steps down fro the deck). The only items needing improvement would be to add a rinse tank and secure drying area for scuba gear. Hope to return to Bonaire and this house soon!
Great , perfect for family time vacation.
Used Hans at outdoor adventure for activities.
Amazing house with the world's best backyard
Our group of 8 adults had an amazing time in the fantastic house. Each room was large and quiet with an en suite bathroom and mini kitchen (mini fridge, double cooktop, and sink). But we didn't use our mini kitchens as we spent all our time either in the huge kitchen/family room area that looks out into the "backyard" or on the back patio. While the infinity pool was a great place to just hang out the best place to be had to be down the stairs into the sea. It's not the best snorkel spot as the main part of the reef is in 40+ feet of water (there are more shallow spots elsewhere in Bonaire) but if you dive it's just as good as any other dive site. We did numerous dives off the patio and enjoyed them all. Since it's centrally located it was easy to drive to other dive sites too...plenty of diving north and south of house.
When we weren't diving we were eating (and drinking). There are a couple restaurants within walking distance which was great the times we didn't feel like driving (or wanted to drink a bit more than we should if we were also going to drive). We also had several meals in the house. Several grocery stores are about 5 minutes away. The kitchen had the best and largest assortment of pots/pans/spatulas/etc that I've ever seen in a rental. There was also a cabinet with several dozen (yes dozens) glasses. We could have thrown a party for 30 people and had plenty of glasses.
The only 2 annoyances were (1) the mosquitoes on the patio...you will definitely need repellent but there's a huge basket of left overs from previous guest. (2) The dishwasher makes an absolutely horrid and loud sound. We only ran it when we were leaving the house.
We had some slight issue with the in room safes but Debby was super fast to come handle those. And there was a epic rain storm that tripped one of the circuit breakers which took out the wifi. Again Debby was fast to respond and came and resolved the wifi problem quickly. We couldn't have been more happy with the customer service.
We all miss the pool and the 2 iguanas that like to hang out on the dock. We especially miss the 2 parrot fish, angel fish, big red crab, and about 30 other fish that call the rocks at the bottom of the stairs home. It was great to just sit on the dock and watch the fish at the bottom of the stairs. Oh yah, did I mention the sunsets too? Amazing!
You can scuba dive directly from this beautiful, updated spacious villa
Nirvana Lodge is beautiful! There are six big bedrooms, each with their own newly remodeled bathroom. The two master suites are huge. We would absolutely book this villa again.
It's right on the water very close to the Bachelor dive site. Our family of seven dove directly from the back stairs several times. It's perfect for eight or more people and a group of 10-12 would not feel crowded.
Other than diving, our favorite experiences were the meals cooked at home by the chef that the owner and manager recommended. Han from FoodManiacs Bonaire cooked two fabulous five course meals (with wine pairings) while we all relaxed. We also did an amazing barbecue with Han. Those meals were fantastic! It was so lovely to enjoy fabulous food "at home" in our private resort villa. I would highly recommend both Nirvana Lodge and Foodmaniacs Bonaire.
A piece of heaven...
We vacationed at Nirvana Lodge with our family...children and grandchildren...10 of us. The bedrooms were awesome, each ensuite with a kitchenette and outside access. Infinity pool was so beautiful and enjoyed by everyone, from parents to grandchildren ages 18 to 3. Go down stairs next to pool and go right into the ocean...swim. snorkel, scuba among beautiful colorful fish. No need to go anywhere else, but we did...Marine National Park, beaches, Jibe City at Luc Bay, windsurfing, land windsurfing, salt flats, scuba sites, Cadushy Distillery and restaurants...best food ever. We cooked in 3 nights so were able to relax and enjoy the villa with its fully equipped kitchen. We loved every moment there and hope to go back in the future.
Beautiful villa, helpful agents, nice reef
The villa is spacious and patio and pool area are great places to hang out. We had 11 people altogether and it never felt too crowded. The reef is in good condition and you can see all the usual wildlife. Two of our divers encountered a pod of dolphins.
