Great beach retreat!

  • 5 of 5

The condo was very comfortable, and well cared for. What a great location! Although there are a lot of beach visitors during the day, it was quiet. The sunsets can't be beat! I was even up early one morning and watched the moon set over the gulf....so peaceful and beautiful! We'll be back.

Our New FAV!!

  • 5 of 5

I am originally from Florida, but moved away several years ago. I have returned every summer with my family in tow, but we had always gone to the Atlantic side…until we experienced Pass-A-Grille! We will never go to the Atlantic again! We LOVE PassAGrille Beach and we loved this condo! It is small, but very clean…and the kitchenette and amenities provide everything you need for your stay. The Murphy bed was very comfortable too! And that wonderful deck…ahhhhhh…! The local people and establishments were awesome too. Thank you, Ms. Gail, for having such a wonderful place for us to enjoy Florida again – we will definitely be back!

Picture Perfect

  • 4 of 5

This unit is desirable because of the lovely view of the Gulf of Mexico. The balcony is shared with everyone and the sunset is celebrated by the residents each evening. There is a nice mix of both renters and owners staying here.

We stay for 2 months each year (March & April) and find the unit very livable. The well equipped kitchenette enables you to prepare meals while enjoying a fantastic view! There are restaurants nearby if that is your preference. We like dining with a great view so even pizza, carryout, or prepared food eaten on the deck, are great options.

The Murphy Bed folds up into the wall during the day, affording much more living area. The couch is situated to enjoy a nice view, as is the eating area.

The closet space is more than adequate. The owner provides nice amenities such as beach chairs and an umbrella.

The long walking beach is such a pleasure that we walk most everywhere. Trips to downtown St. Petersburg are very reasonable with public transportation. There is a trolley stop is nearby. You can travel all the way to the pier in downtown St. Pete without changing buses. Buy an all day pass and travel up all the beaches as far as Clearwater on the Beach Trolley. Once you are 65 years old the bus fare or all day pass is half price.

We fly to Florida and don't find it necessary to rent a car. (This is quite a savings to us.) The beach is picture perfect.

Pass-a-Grille Beach Vacation

  • 4 of 5

This condo is in a great location with a great view and just steps away from the beach. If you don't feel like getting sandy there is a nice deck area overlooking the beach. We sat on the deck every night to watch the sunset. The neighborhood was extremely walkable with many great restaurants within walking distance. Merry Pier was also only a couple blocks away if you want to try the ferry to shell key. There were a couple of smaller convenience stores within walking distance and the Publix grocery store was only about a 5-10 minute drive.

A parking pass is included in your stay and it is very easy to find a spot unless you leave on the weekend and come back in the morning/afternoon. Parking is obviously busier during those times. If you have to drive some where on the weekend, just try to return later in the day and there will be plenty of spots available again.

The other great perk of this condo was that it had 2 comfortable beach chairs and a beach umbrella that you can use. The beach umbrella was a huge plus for us as we're from the upper midwest and not used to the florida sun. Sunburn would have been unavoidable without the umbrella!

The condo it's self was small but clean. Definitely only big enough for 2 people. Some of the decor was dated but other items had been updated. The only downside was that the murphy bed and pillows were not comfortable. We would have given the place 5 stars if the bed/pillows were upgraded to a better quality.

Owner's Response: I have had people stay in this unit for 2 and 3 months at a time and they have never complained about the bed. My pillow were bought new in Jan. Thanks for the nice write up of the area since it is a "little bit of paradise." Gail

Beautiful View - Great Location!

  • 4 of 5

The view and location were superb. The deck overlooks the ocean and the sunset view cannot be beat. We enjoyed relaxing in the sun and were truly impressed with how peaceful the location was. We only stayed for 3 days and each morning we sipped our coffee while watching dolphins play close to the shore. This condo is within walking distance to many shops/restaurants. We highly recommend the Sea Horse (we had breakfast there), Tequila Mockingbird (fresh/authentic Mexican food) and Sea Critters (fresh seafood! My husband said his blackened Chilean Bass was the best piece of fish he had ever eaten, while I enjoyed my lobster pasta). The change of pace and beautiful outdoor eating was exactly what we needed. The beach location was so impressive that we contemplated finding a condo to purchase ourselves!

For those who like to hit the slots or tables...we did make a trip to Tampa to visit the Hard Rock Casino (for my husband's birthday)! No big jackpots were won, but we did have a great time.

We stayed in the studio unit (#15). The unit was clean and quiet. The only "con" was that we did not know that the unit had only a murphy bed. We have not slept on a spring mattress for years, so it was an adjustment for us. This is the only reason why I gave the review 4 stars.

Pass a Grille beach is a great place to vacation and de-stress from your daily lives. We would like to make this an annual trip now.

Thanks for the great memories!

Owner's Response: I am so please you enjoyed yourself. It is a "piece of paradise" and so easy to get from one place to another. The mattress in the Murphy bed is a queen size posturepedic and I do not believe it has springs. I have people who stay 2 months at a time and have not complained. Thanks again for taking the time to write the review. Gail
