Excellently managed holiday home elevated above the rolling countryside of the Teign Estuary; this modern 3 bed bungalow maisonette offers a sunny Devon base for family and friends.

River View Shaldon offers multi-level living that makes the most of the wide far reaching views across the River Teign and beyond. Set in a quiet residential road, but within close proximity of restaurants, cafés, pubs and shops; this is an ideal retreat for world-weary families in need of peace and tranquillity.

Ground floor

The coastal-themed hallway spills into a living room with picture windows with far reaching views of the estuary to the pretty hillside beyond. A flat screen TV, DVD player & Wi-Fi access complement a comfy sofa suite.

The fully-equipped kitchen diner features a breakfast table & chairs. Just the end of hallway is a spacious dining room with a TV, CD player, children's books & games and French doors leading directly to an enclosed outdoor terraced patio with table & chairs.

There are two beautifully appointed bedrooms on the ground floor - one double bedroom with views across the river, while the pretty twin room gives a lovely views of the rockery at the back.

These 2 bedrooms are served by the family disabled friendly bathroom with a bath along with a level entry shower, adapted for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.

Dormer bedroom

The upper level of the property features a king size bed, an en-suite shower room and views over the sunny back garden.


The pretty landscaped gardens are to the front & rear and feature two enticing alfresco dining areas. There is a table set on the front patio of the property, complete with a dramatic river view backdrop and BBQ and another set on the back patio too. This allows you to follow the sun as it makes its way around the house. The garden also offers a play area for the children.


There is off road parking conveniently offered for 1-2 cars in a layby to the right of the owner-shared driveway and the shops, restaurants & cafés of Shaldon are just a very short walk away.


As well as beautiful beaches, captivating coastal walks and sea view golf courses, the surrounding area is home to a wealth of activities and sites including Living Coasts in Torquay, Kent's Cavern, Paignton Zoo as well as sailing, boat trips, fishing and water sports. The breath-taking Dartmoor National Park and its National Trust properties are also within easy driving distance, allowing guests a year-round holiday of outdoor fun.

This property is a little gem, set in the most lovely area of Shaldon, the views from the front of the property are wonderful and the garden at the rear is a little sun trap just such a lovely place to stay

Golf ~ Teignmouth:

Teignmouth Golf Club is justifiably proud of its heritage. The course was designed by the legendary Dr Alister MacKenzie and opened in 1924, some 9 years before he completed his most famous work at the Augusta National, home of the US Masters.

Teignmouth’s course is situated near to the South Devon coast and, at 800 feet above sea level, it commands spectacular views of the sea and nearby moors.

The 18 hole moorland links presents a great test of golf for players of all abilities. Features include six varied and challenging par 3s and no fewer than 11 two-tier greens, a true MacKenzie trademark.

Shaldon is a pretty, unspoilt village which is situated on the Teign estuary. A ferry runs a frequent service to the larger resort town of Teignmouth, which on the opposite side of the estuary.

Shaldon has a long clean sandy beach, grocery shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants and also a Zoo! Shaldon Zoo is located in beautiful woodland and you will be able to see a variety animals, including some smaller more endangered species.

It still retains much of its old world charm, with many thatched cottages and a typical village green. It has a thriving community and several local families are still linked to the fishing industry.


Teignmouth has that relaxed holiday ambience generated by its people and buildings, such as the Georgian crescents found in the town. Teignmouth is a true historic seafishing and industrial port and also a classical seaside resort. Both industry and fishing are now much reduced, but watching the ships and pleasure boats passing the Ness between Shaldon and Teignmouth is always enjoyable.

Teignmouth boasts a promenade, a Victorian pier, a swimming lido, plenty of shopping, a theatre, very safe main beach, great walks, a railway station and parks.

Add to this the great selection of restaurants, such as the Crab Shack, and local pubs touching the water front, beach huts sitting proud on the 'spit' and the ambience is complete. Teignmouth is easy to reach by car, just 15-20 minutes from Exeter by car or by train. You can even arrive by boat provided you can find a mooring.

For fishermen Teignmouth is a true haven, with a large beach front, and an estuary that sees a good number of bass and flatfish caught by locals every year. Float fish off the spit on a full tide with sandeel, spin in the estuary or beach cast into the surf (watch the surfers however when an easterly is blowing).
