This lovely, remodeled, antique farmhouse near Sylvester's Cove is the perfect antidote to today's complicated, hectic lifestyle. Situated on an interior lot with four private acres, the house is sheltered on the north by a grove of pines. To the south, lawns and a large meadow edged with old apple trees provide lots of space for lounging or playing. The views are pastoral (one house visible through the trees beyond the meadow), and the Sylvester's Cove beach is only a five-minute walk away.
Life in the farmhouse is simple and relaxing. The spacious living room boasts comfortable furniture, a west-facing bay window, a sea chest full of games and puzzles, and lots of books. The sunny, old-fashioned, eat-in kitchen overlooks the meadow and the barn.
For those who wish to bring a computer, we provide wireless DSL Internet access.

We had a wonderful, old-fashioned vacation, flying kites, making ice cream, looking for shells, reading books. We not only survived the lack of TV, we thrived! For serious art lovers, check out G. Watson Gallery in Stonington, as well as Turtle Gallery in Deer Isle and Pitcher Masters toward Haystack. The ...tours of Haystack are great and kid friendly.
We've been staying at the Farmhouse for years! We come every summer for the local Lobster Boat Races and the house is absolutely perfect for what we need. It's spacious, a quick walk (1/4 mile) to the beach and full of charm!
We have stayed in several places in the general Deer Isle/Blue Hill area, this was our favorite. It's an old farmhouse in the middle of a field, well off the road. It is simple, quiet, and lovely.Very comfy furniture and beds. On the ocean side of Deer Isle, it has nice walks to two different beautiful coves. It's only missing a screened-in porch or a deck, but otherwise great.
We spend two fabulous weeks at the farmhouse on Deer Isle.
The farmhouse is beautiful, clean, nicely decorated and fully-equiped. It is conveniently located within walking distance to the beach, a short drive to quaint towns of Maine and far away from the stresses of daily life.
The farmhouse was the ideal location for us to reconnect as a family, sleep in, enjoy the beach, watch the kids play in the front of the house and catch a glimpse of deer and fireflies while sitting in the kitchen.
Betsy was wonderful to deal with and patiently answered all out questions and concerns.
We had a wonderful time and will make a point of returning for future vacation getaways.
Thank you, Betsy and Elisabeth, for sharing your piece of heaven with us.
