TOWN INFO: There is a great park 300 yards away from the house. You can reach it by walking on a beautiful bike path or driving. The park has a playground for all ages, tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields. Ice skating in the winter, weather permitting.
Colchester is a very cute little town just north of Burlington, Vermont on Lake Champlain. The home we rented had one of the best sandy beaches in the area. The home had everything we needed to be comfortable and to prepare a variety of meals. It was right on the bike trail which was a treat--you could head out onto the causeway between the lake and Mallett's Bay, or head the other direction and run/bike right into Burlington. The owner had a reasonable contract and handled all the financials professionally and efficiently. I would recommend this rental.
Stayed at the Colchester house with my husband and son. Great bike path just across the street. We biked the causeway and took the bike ferry across to South Hero, biked south to the beach accesses, and biked into Burlington for lunch and shopping. Also rented kayaks at North Beach, went running, and used the soccer fields. The house was well equipped to make dinner, shower off or run a load in the washer to clean swim suits or running clothes, and a fully equipped kitchen for breakfast and dinner. We were there for a heat wave and the window AC unit did a great job cooling the house in the evening. Great stay!
My husband works in Vermont every winter and this house is perfect for a long stay!!! The house is well equipped with furniture and household items needed for "home" living. It's big enough if the kids and I come up for vacation. Close to the beach!! Of course it's too cold to enjoy the beach but ice skating at the local park is fun! It's close to work, Burlington for prime restaurants and ski resorts for skiing. Lori or Raquel have always been available for any of our needs or concerns. Great property.
Just as nice as it was back in September!
All the comforts of home, just not at home. Very good beds. Place was spotless. Read the Manual for the house-complete and informative. We lucked out, having 3 days of uncommonly great weather. Lake was enjoyed by all. Picked apples and just relaxed.
Hopeful that the home will be available at Christmas-We'll be back!

Nice property and the management is great to deal with. The lake is close, just a walk across the street, and was shallow enough to be perfect for all our kids. Between Colchester, Burlington, and Shelburne, there is plenty to do and see by yourself or with a family. We look forward to coming back.
Gorgeous bike/ hiking trail across the street that goes south all the way to Burlington (7 miles) through a new bike bridge, or north to the Lake Champlain Islands via a bike-boat ferry that operates during the summer weekends (the 2011 floods have ruined the connection to the Islands). About 15 minutes drive to downtown Burlington with its restaurants, shops, and cultural life (5 minutes to local markets and restaurants), 20 minutes to airport. Less than 2 hours to Montreal and one hour to Stowe. Perfect for nature lovers, artists, romantics, or anyone looking for a beautiful getaway or for outdoor sports and activities. Recreational activities for every season, including swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, skiing (within 45 minutes), and ice-skating. Brilliant foliage in autumn.
Ski: About an hour drive from Stowe, Smugglers Notch, Bolton and Sugarbush and one and a half hour drive from Jay Peak.
