What an Amazing Property and Amazing trip!! We stayed at SanRoc for our Spring Break trip to the Keys and it was everything we were looking for. It truly is a Beautiful property. If you are looking to be able to kick back and just relax this is the place. We were traveling with 3 kids, 2 parents and 2 grandparents and it was perfect for all ages. The house was just the perfect size and had everything we needed. The backyard is huge and when the kids were not in the pool they could run around and throw the frisbee or ball around. You feel completely secluded, like you are on your own estate and when you leave you are literally minutes from anything you need, restaurants, entertainment, shopping. The view from the back balcony is postcard perfect and the pool and hot tub are AWESOME!! Fished off the dock and watched the boats go by. Make sure to catch the sunrises they are spectacular!! We still look at the pictures weekly and plan on going back again very soon!

First Time to Rent a Home, First Time in Florida Keys, love to come back again!

Small but beautiful home on gorgeous, well maintained grounds. Nice pool and jacuzzi, very shallow best for kids. Lots of wildlife including lizards, geckos, a couple snakes, white storks, and our favorite Iguanas. 3 bedrooms upstairs with two baths and 1 bedroom downstairs with 1 bath and laundry. We had a great time as we were two families that shared the home together with 4 adults and 3 children. We tried to catch fish off the dock, but it was a very short dock; a high tide only brings 2-3 feet of water, low tide leaves dry land/mud. It wasn't until we figured out the tide schedule and eating schedule of the fish, and putting chum and leftover fish heads/tails in a chum bag in the AM before we caught about 12 fish (7 keepers) and 2 nurse sharks (no real teeth) that we released. Easy access to great restaurants and grocery stores and diving/fishing areas. Picked up great lobster tails behind the farmer market area for cheap along with gulf shrimp. We felt like the only ones there as other homes were out of sight. The things this home needs is: 1) A rice cooker (we bought one and left it there for others, you can thank us now!), 2) a set of bowls for cereal or soups, there were only 3, and 3) most important is the bottom floor has NO ACCESS to internet and there is no phone downstairs. This was a real drag and we think the owner needs to put a much better internet wireless router and perhaps extend it physically to the bottom floor. The pictures look better than it is, but it is still a nice place that is clean and well taken care of. Lastly, beware the cleaning fee states $375 here but we got charged $425 in the contract, and tax gets added on as well. We would come back again.

An Oasis in the Keys

  • 5 of 5

For the last five years, my family has spent a week at San Roc. In fact, I think our three young children think it's our summer house! The estate, the house, the pool and the view are the best on the Keys. We spend much of our day just sitting by the pool looking at the ocean and watching the kids play in the pool while the palm trees sway. The patio is perfect for outside dining and we tend to grill the fish we catch on fishing trips out of nearby Whale Harbor. The house is both spacious and comfortable and we never feel that we're on top of each other. So many of our family memories are made at San Roc that I've never been tempted to look at another property in the Keys. While the house is great, I have to also say that Kari, the property manager for the house, is one of its best assets. She's always quick to help and has recommendations for everything. She's become a friend over the years. I have recommended the house to everyone considering the Keys for a vacation.

We're already looking forward to next summer's vacation!

Classic Beach House

  • 4 of 5

My family of 6 adults and 4 kids (including toddler and baby) stayed at San Roc last month and we couldn't have been happier. Starting at the long, winding driveway covered in a gorgeous canopy of trees, this place was kind of magical. We took many photos along this driveway, was kind of reminiscent of Narnia or Terebithia. The house was based on a Mediterranean style and had a super relaxed old time beach vibe inside. Very spacious but comfy and cozy and was totally outfitted with everything we needed. Downstairs the covered patio was a breezy warm place to get out of the sun for a bit. Comfy furniture as well as the gas grill located here. We cooked out and ate under the patio many nights. It was also a nice quiet spot to find some shade to read. The grounds provided a lot of privacy and space for us. The little boys loved playing trucks in the sandy yard. The pool was situated back from the house, near the Atlantic, and was surrounded by palm trees, lounge chairs and umbrellas and a great surround deck. The pool area, viewed from the house was like an oasis in the middle of the desert. The home is located near several great restaurants all within 10 miles. Most of our days started with a sunrise and coffee, followed by just hanging out at the pool with family. It was a very quiet and relaxing place to stay.

This was our sixth house we have rented through VRBO and it was by far the cleanest. It was spotless throughout. It had plenty of beach towels and shower towels. The house has everything you could ask for including two coffee pots which came in handy for 6 adults. We asked for the pool to be heated and boy was it! The pool was 88 degrees & the spa was 98. Don't know how much hotter you'd want it. The pool guy comes twice a week so it's always clean. Had one minor problem ( broke the handle on the kitchen sink-our fault), called Kari in the morning and it was fixed that afternoon! Whole new faucet! The house is very private, down a long drive, away from everyone. It's so centrally located, 10 minutes to almost anything you might need. An hour to the Everglades, Key West and Miami. The furniture was very comfortable, especially the beds and pillows. They must have gotten new lawn furniture because ours were not cheap plastic, but either teak or sturdy metal- I'm a big guy & I didn't have a problem sitting in any of them. It was just a great vacation & Kari, Moe and Marie were fantastic to deal with. Would I stay there again? In a heart beat!! We have rented 4 houses in Mexico and one in Tahiti Can't beat the water in Tahiti but this house was far better and cleaner. Also NO BUGS!!

Renters Beware

  • 1 of 5

The photos of this property are extremely old and the comfortable lounge chairs displayed in the property photos are nonexistent. They have been replaced with very cheap non cushioned moldy lawn chairs. The teak furniture that does exist did not have cushions and when we asked the property manager to provide them we got a few very old dirty cushions that provided seating for 3 of us. The hot tub would not stay heated and it needed to be serviced twice during our stay with an attempt to fix it. The grill was so old the knobs were broken off and should of been replaced before our arrival. When we expressed our disappointment with the broken grill , cold hot tub , moldy dime store lounge chairs , and the old run downed condition of the property the manager was not willing to offer any compensation for a terrible vacation rental experience. This property is definitely not worth the rental cost.
