Alaska!! Northern Lights!!
We enjoyed our stay, the house is comfortable and convenient to all we wanted to do. It was an awesome experience to view the Northern Lights from the driveway or even from inside the house through the windows!
The house was nice and great for our needs.
We spent most of our time out of the home, having all the local brochures was helpful in planning our days.
The Blueberry House was a great home for us for a week! Very clean, cozy and comfortable. The location is perfect! Close to everything, but still in the outskirts so you have amazing scenery all around. We were able to see the Northern Lights and moose. We were also able to drive to Denali for the day and the Chena Hot Springs. Dog sledding is a must! I would stay here again and recommend it.
A wonderful place to stay near Fairbanks!
My husband, myself and our two dogs went to Fairbanks for the weekend and really enjoyed staying in this home! Super comfortable, Netflix on the TV, and a bottle of wine to greet us on the table! It was everything we were looking for, and a close drive to Fairbanks and downtown North Pole! I highly recommend staying in this home!
A truly wonderful experience at Blueberry House
My family of 4 recently stayed at Blueberry House for 4 nights and truly loved it! I've been renting vacation homes on vrbo for almost 25 years, and Blueberry House tops my list of rentals.
Myong/Greg/Matt were very responsive to my questions - and I had a lot of them since I was planning our trip from scratch and had never been in Alaska in the winter before. I had a lot of concerns about the roads, since I have no experience driving in snow. I had also been convinced that we should stay in Fairbanks, but decided that Blueberry House was the place for us as we could (potentially) see the aurora right from the house.
The house was exactly as described, even better perhaps. It was very quiet, clean, and well-stocked with everything we needed. It was very comfortable, and we really appreciated having the washer and dryer. The roads were ploughed, and there was a plug for the car right near the front door.
Sadly, the aurora did not come out for us, but we planned a lot of other activities each day, including a visit to Chena Hot Springs (1.5 hr), a walk with reindeer (30 min), Santa Clause Workshop (15 min), ice fishing (45 min) , viewing the Trans-Alaska Pipeline (25 min), and seeing the Ice Sculpting Competition (25 min). Nothing was really that far, and we really enjoyed being outside of the city.
I've always believed that the accommodation for a trip sets the tone for the trip. We feel fortunate to have found Blueberry House. Thank you, Myong/Greg/Matt for helping make our Alaskan trip so fabulous and memorable!
Great Home To Stay In
Thank you for providing your home to us for our Christmas vacation. The size of the home and the rooms was great, it was convenient to North Pole and Fairbanks. The heat worked well, beds were ok, plenty of towels, simply decorated and enjoyable. I have no negative views on the home but as a cautionary note to people with large groups: The home sleeps 6 and there was only 3 adults and 1 toddler in our group. The home does not have enough dinerware to serve 6. There was 4 or less of each plates, bowls.... and the kitchen has very very limited cook/bakeware. Luckily we were invited elsewhere for Christmas dinner because it would not have been possible to cook more than simple breakfast, lunch, diner. I would check with the host prior to booking to see if this has been remedied. Other then that I have no problem suggesting this home for your trip to Alaska! I will be definitely going again and would book this home again.
