Casa Platin is over 100 years old and was fully restored ten years ago. It has all the newer tech benefits and is 2 blocks from the Taos Square, situated between a 4-star B&B and the only 5-star hotel in the area. This is the quaint Burch Street area. All restaurants are within walking distance as are grocery store, shops and galleries.
Taos is where the artists LIVE not just display their art. All seasons are magnificent. We have fires even in the summer on the HUGE flagstone patio, totally enclosed, under the spreading trees. Close to town and all amenities...Casa Platin has a sweet history but is brand new with tasteful furnishings.. Turn the key and you're home.

Pat and Linda are friends of 35 years from 'Denver Days'. We both are independent business women, Linda in commercial furnishings and Pat an insurance agent. We share a love of the American West and decided to buy a Taos House for ourselves and families.
pat prescott purchased this villa in 2002
Little Casa Platin is over a hundred years old but was totally remodeled. It has been Linda's creative eye to paint all the vibrant colors. Pat's creative bartending keeps Linda going.
Taos is a great getaway for us separately or even, once in a while, get the old 'Denver Days' group together with our old college chums etc.
The flagstone patio is unique in there are not that many, nor large, in the area. It is private as it is encircled by fences (adobe and wooden) on three sides. It backs up to a huge parcel of land. You can have your massage out there. The firepit is just the right touch for a dinner on the patio.
The house is walking distance from the town and it was cozy and decorated wonderfully. Property management was a pleasure to work with. Taos is a great place for a vacation and I will definitely be coming back and staying here. Ski, Art, Scenery, Hot Springs, Dining, Hiking. I wish I had more time!
My husband and I spent a wonderful month in this charming home. We enjoyed staying here very much. The house is equipped with all the staples you could want or need plus. Pat was very responsive and friendly. The location was extremely convinent to the Plaza and restaurants. We hope ti return again next year.
Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids aged 7 and 11) stayed here over Christmas 2014 - the house was just perfect. Loads of space for us. Great kitchen, well kitted out - lots of cooking ingredients and utensils, we were able to do a full Christmas dinner. Warm, cosy, beautifully and sympathetically decorated. Pat, the owner, was great to deal with. Responsive, thoughtful, down to earth....she arranged for a Christmas tree and decorations to be at the house when we arrived so the kids could decorate it, suggested lots of great things to do over the vacation (Christmas Eve at the Taos pueblo was unforgettable). Easy to get hold of, when we had queries.
And George, the manager on the ground, was fabulous. Showed us how to use the fire burner properly, arranged for the faulty refridgerator to be fixed (on Christmas Eve! - what a star). Plus, he's an incredible artist....massive art on buildings, we spotted them around Taos and at the Ski Village.....!
Only 10 minutes stroll into town, casa is in a quiet neighbourhood, easy parking.
I can't recommend the place highly enough. Gorgeous casa in a stunning town in one of the most beautiful parts of America I've visited.
My group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Platin. It was very comfortable and furnished with everything we needed.. We loved the outside area and spent much of our time outside eating, visiting, and just enjoying the weather. It is a short walk to the plaza and shopping. I think it is a great location. From a Texas very smitten with New Mexico and Taos in particular. The owner was most cooperative.
My wife and I stayed here with our two kids (13 and 10) for 4 nights. It was our first trip to Taos. We could not have asked for more. This home is located in a great spot. Quite residential area, yet only 10 minutes (walking) from the Taos Plaza and everything you could want to see. We walked everywhere. The full kitchen was great! We cooked more meals at home than we ate out. Big thanks to Pat, the owner, for filling us in on where to look to find out all the fun things that were gong on in Taos the week we were here. Tons of free music venues every day. The locals were very inviting as well (which I was some what nervous about). I would recommend Los Rios river rafters. My kids had a blast rafting down the Rio Grande (even though the river was very low). Lamberts and the DragonFly Cafe had great food. We tried something different every day. Many, many options. I recommend you check this home out. You wil not be dissappointed.
The house was perfect- old-style adobe with many modern amenities, and beautiful decorations. During the day, I enjoyed the sunshine out on the fabulous patio, and curled up in front of the fire while watching DVDs from their collection at night. The owner was so helpful and responsive- I would definitely recommend this property!
Our special thanks to local renowned artist George Chacon for his photos.
