A 2 minute walk to your own private beach. Great area with plenty to do if wanted!
If you are looking for a cozy breezy pet friendly minutes from the beach place to stay then this is the house for you. We spent 4 days with our 2 yo son and had the BEST time. The house is clean and comfortable and the breeze, especially at night is so refreshing. The clean private beach is just a few minute walk and the outdoor shower came in handy to wash away all the sand. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. All of the local favorites (Aunt Carries, George's, Champlains, Iggy's and the Lighthouse) are so close by. The owner Steve was friendly, responsive and accommodating. By far one of the best vacations we've ever had.
We stayed in Steve's cottage in 2014 somewhat by accident. (See my 2014 review below.) We enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to go back even though Narragansett is about 350 miles and a long ride through NY and CT from home. We were very glad we made the trip.
Steve was as kind and welcoming as last year and, from the time we arrived, we were glad to back. He'd made some improvements to the cottage (new counter tops and doors etc.). Mostly, however, it was great to be in this relaxing get away. There are beautiful views and good times in this quiet ocean front community. Our dog enjoyed the stay as much as we did, and, as last year, we were able to host dinner for family members who live not far away.
The local beach was a joy for us. Nearby Aunt Carries Restaurant was as good as we remembered it. This year we took the ferry to Bock Island. I thought it was worth the trip; my family would have preferred to have spent the day at Breakwater Village Beach and at Steve's. We have recommended the place and the area to friends and family. One person in our family uses canes to walk and a scooter for distance. The cottage is mostly accessible, and the beach is reachable with scooter. We hope to go back next year.
After my annual vacation plans were cancelled, I was devastated. But, the devastation did not last very long after finding this perfect cottage escape. The house was immaculate and Steve was accommodating and welcoming from the moment I arrived. The location is ideal with just a short walk to enjoy a private beach and the view from the Point Judith light house. As an earlier riser, it was the perfect place to watch the sun rise. The area and home are extremely pet friendly which was a bonus since I was traveling with my goldendoodle. Whether you are looking for some peace and quite or some summer fun, this is the perfect place to stay. My only disappointment was that I didn’t stay longer! I will definitely book far enough in advance next summer to thoroughly enjoy my stay!
We can't wait to return. We were blessed to find Steve and his classic beach cottage. We wanted a place to accommodate our attendance at a family wedding as well as our coincidental adoption of a dog from Paws New England in nearby Jamestown, R.I. on the same weekend. We found Steve's place on BringFido.com. The beach community and view of an iconic light house were better than described. Steve was very accommodating. We have already recommended the place to relatives and friends. The picturesque beach is nearby and easy to get to. One restaurant within a mile has received national attention, the others in the vicinity are also good. The well-outfitted cottage was mostly accessible for our son who walks with canes and uses a walker. Because two parking spaces were provided we could host nearby family.
We enjoyed walking our dog to the Fisherman's Memorial and lighthouse nearby.
My husband and I spent a week at the cottage and it was such a relaxing vacation. Everything was perfect. We had never stayed in a cottage so we did not know what to expect. The cottage is so well maintained, spotless, attractive and well equipped with almost everything you would need and WIFI. We loved the open floor plan for the kitchen/living room area overlooking the deck and flower garden. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. Everyone takes pride in their properties and there are flowers everywhere. It is a great place for walks, meeting the friendly neighbors, watching the beautiful sunsets, and going to the beach which is a very short walk from the cottage. Good restaurants and the light house are just up the street. Steve, the owner, was great to deal with. He has to be a very patient man because he put up with ALL my questions! He checks in before and after the stay. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Steve!
My wife and I along with our 2 young girls stayed for a week and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more! The house and location are fantastic and was super clean when we arrived. Everything in the pics and description are spot on including the great restaurants minutes away (we hit them all).
I will add that the neighborhood is also really perfect for young kids. They went biking and played on the roads on their own without any concern as the traffic is minimal.
Steve the owner is great, called before and after our stay to be sure everything was satisfactory and returned my cleaning deposit within days of returning home. I would recommend this rental to anyone and look forward to many more years of renting.
