This luxurious beach house is nestled among the trees on a bluff overlooking Cape Breton's most spectacular pebble beach. It is wrapped on three sides by a covered veranda with a gazebo that is set up for dining, and offers a glorious view of the beach and Cape Smoky. The house is furnished with attention to quality and comfort with details such as wainscotting in the hallways and a crystal chandelier over the stairwell. The floors are all ceramic tile and hardwood. On the main floor is a gourmet kitchen, a sun-filled dining area, and a living room with rattan furniture and wood stove. On this floor are also a bedroom with queen size bed, and a bathroom with full size washer and dryer. Upstairs you find a lounge with an entertainment system and yet another breath-taking view, three bedrooms, one with an ensuit bath, and another bathroom.
From the door step you have access to a newtwork of our own trails that lead along the shore and
up into the mountains.
I am a retired occupational therapist and currently a potter. I live and work right here in Wreck Cove and take pleasure in seeing guests enjoy this lovely piece of the earth. Since I live here full time, I deal with guests directly – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between. Both properties are fully furnished and have all the amenities of home!
Jitka purchased this house in 2005
The Garner family wrote in our printed guest book:
"A second year,
Just as wonderful as the first.
A great place, lots to do and great hosts; mostly great weather.
Overall, a terrific experience. We would recommend to anyone.
The Garners' friends added:
"Our 1st experience in the maritimes. What a splendid way to get to know this area. Spectacular scenery, good fresh fish, many places to discover and explore. Great relaxed atmosphere and friendly people.
A beautiful property, well concieved, well equipped, great views and exceptional hosts/owners. Jitka and Gilbert - always ready to answer questions, provide adice and welcome us.
All in all, a memorable (too short) holiday!

Perfect in every way: proximity to National Park attractions, unobstructed views of Cape Smokey & the magnificent Atlantic Ocean. Total seclusion, yet right on the Cabot Trail with amenities handy. Singing Pebbles made me feel I was living a dream; cooking was a pleasure in the fantastically equipped & high end chef's kitchen with the million dollar view. It was an ideal setting to explore the Highlands Park western end. The only downside was that we had to vacate after our week flew by. I would definitely say that staying in such an exquisite house enhanced the natural wonders of this unique part of Cape Breton. Thank you Jitka for the care & imagination you & Gilbert invested in this special dwelling.
I stayed here with my boyfriend and another couple in preparation for a wedding in july 2015. This place was spectacular and Jitka was so helpful! even let us borrow fishing gear (not that we caught anything!). The house is perfect for entertaining and cooking and staying in and the house itself is so close to nearby towns and communities that offer great restaurants and tourist opportunities like trail etc. We flew into sydney and it only took us about an hour to get to the house and that was even after picking up all our groceries! It stormed a few nights we were there and having that wrap around covered deck was AMAZING! we got to watch some of the best lighting I have ever seen! and enjoy the nice fireplace! I must say we had the best time here and hope to be coming back!
My family of five stayed here and loved every minute. The location is so beautiful that the pictures do not do it justice. Jitka is as warm and welcoming as the reviews said she would be. The house is comfortable and everyone had their own space. It was a wonderful vacation. There is so much to do on Cape Breton Island that we could have easily spent another week. My only advice would be to fly into Sydney rather than Halifax. The drive from Halifax is very long.
What a great place for a three-generation family reunion! Even with rain every day and two teenagers without Wifi, it was great. The setting, with views across a flower-filled meadow to endless ocean, cliffs and waves, can't be equaled. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. We particularly appreciated the wood stove on those rainy days. The porch with outside eating set-up would have been lovely in better weather. Jitka is a warm host. The situation is good for hiking in the national park.
We had such a great time staying at the Singing Pebbles beach house. It was so peaceful and relaxing and we loved every minute. Jitka was such a wonderful host and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The house itself was gorgeous, clean, and well equipped. No regrets other than the fact that we didn't stay longer!!
We just got back from spending four nights at the Studio apartment at Singing Pebbles.
We were celebrating our 30th anniversary!
Coming home to our "cottage" each evening after exploring the Island was delightful.
Jitka's suggestions were very helpful.
God's creative handiwork and majesty is wonderfully displayed in this part of the world!
We would highly recommend Singing Pebbles as a place to stay in the area; being close to many attractions and still a private place with personal attention.
And Jitka's pottery is amazing.
