Ruby and Paul W.
About Ruby and Paul W.
Ruby and Paul constructed this home in 1997. Their two children enjoyed the spectacular views while growing up but they have now successfully started their own careers. Ruby and Paul met in San Diego, CA and are both alumni of San Diego State University. Ruby was raised in San Diego while Paul is a 5th generation native Oregonian.
Ruby and Paul W. purchased this Guest House in 1997
Why Ruby and Paul W. chose Beaverton
Ruby found this property when it was a bare lot. She convinced Paul this was "the place" so we sold our current home and used the proceeds to purchase the lot and secure a construction loan. Paul was the general contractor during the project while also fulfilling his full-time job duties as a Civil Engineer. We completed the first phase of the project in 1997 and then finished the basement and the Deck a few years later. We have now upgraded the side entrance to provide guests a safe private access to the basement guest suite.

Worked out very well for a family get together
We enjoyed our stay, especially the large and open family room area that accommodated our group and our local guests comfortably. The views from the deck were beautiful and the hosts were thoughtful enough to make sure the outdoor heaters and fire pits were fully operational; we were quite comfortable being outdoors on the deck despite the season. The hosts also got us an extra table and chairs to accommodate a larger group one of the evenings we were there. We loved the ice-maker in the bar area. The hosts also provided a highchair for the baby to use. It’s a clean and modern space and well insulated; we were very comfortable. We hiked on the local trails that begin steps from the door and enjoyed more views. We definitely recommend this vacation rental.
Thank you so much for the compliment. We are so glad our rental met your needs as well as taking in the mini hiking trail in our neighborhood. Please come by again because Beaverton, and our neighboring, cities have more to offer in activities, sights, etc...
Fantastic Place For An Event or A Peaceful Getaway!
We held my daughter's bridal shower out on the deck and it is a fantastic place for an event. The house and deck are even more beautiful and spacious than the pictures show! The kitchen, bar area and dining table were perfect for setting out the buffet. And afterwards we spent the night in some comfortable beds and enjoyed a beautiful sunset and then a relaxing cup of coffee out on the deck the next morning. The owners were very accommodating and responsive. They contacted me in advance and made sure we had plenty of tables and chairs and parking instructions. They actually moved their own cars to give our guests more space. It was a very positive experience. This place was perfect for our party but It would also be a nice place to spend a peaceful getaway and just enjoy the house and the beautiful views from the deck.
Thank you so much for your positve review, Cheri. We enjoyed having you. 😊
Excellent week or weekend getaway!
Very clean, nice, and well setup place! Views are fantastic from the covered deck, and the kitchen / wet bar areas are very nice. The openness in the great room is excellent for multiple families, and everything is neatly laid out and easy to understand! Would certainly stay here again. Absolutely no complaints - and again will say we loved how clean and tidy everything was.
Thank you so much John. You and your party were wonderful guests! We will welcome you back again.
Microbreweries, Evergreen Forest Walking Trails (right outside your door), and the Air Museum in McMinville where the famous "Spruce Goose" is located (50 min drive)!
