Ideal location for a relaxing immersion

  • 5 of 5

From our first on line contact everything worked better than expected. Claire was very responsive, clear and honest with all emails and personal communications The flat was, we felt, better than advertised; very comfortable, well appointed and central. Being in the 2nd floor provided refreshing daily breezes and the sounds of small primary aged children in the school yard below. The location allowed us to enjoy the town as well as use it as an ideal base for regional exploration. Do yourself a favor and stay here, but leave room for our next visit!

A lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Claire (the owner) was very friendly and helpful, the apartment was just as pictured; clean, well looked after and had everything we needed. L'isle Sur La Sorgue is a lovely place to visit and a great base for exploring that area of Provence. The apartment is tucked out of the way on a quiet street next to a primary school. There are a number of stairs to access the apartment so it isn't suited to everyone, but for us it was ideal. There are a large number of local restaurants and bakeries within a short walk from the apartment and the market offers some great fresh produce if you don't want to eat out. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Outstanding accommodation in a picturesque town

  • 5 of 5

What a pretty apartment Claire has right downtown in I'sle sur-la-Sorgue. There is plenty of living space for two and it is exceptionally clean. Everything was provided for as advertised and the kitchen equipment and dishes and utensils were more than adequate. There was absolutely nothing we needed that was not provided. The bed was comfortable. The apartment is bright and sunny in the morning as well as the early afternoon. There are brand new windows everywhere and they are very good windows that do not allow drafts.

Claire had a new jar of nice tapenade and toasts for us as well as a bottle of wine as welcome gifts ready for us upon our arrival.

I'sle sur-la-Sorgue is small enough that you cannot get lost but large enough that everybody can find many restaurants to their liking. There are several fine dining restaurants. There is an excellent wine bar called 17 serving wines from all over France by the glass or bottle as well as cheese and charcuterie platters. The Sunday market is excellent and very large. With all the squares and waterways and water wheels and gardens, this has to be one of the prettiest towns in Provence. And it is well connected by bus and train. There is free parking available nearby.

My wife and I stayed here for the whole month of March 2015.

Charming and spacious apartment

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Le Petit Piccasso in October 2014. We found it to be a charming and inviting apartment, recently renovated, clean, spacious, well-equipped, bright and airy (with the blinds and windows open), and cheerfully decorated. It is located only minutes away by foot from multiple restaurants, cafes, and bakeries. It is also well located for touring Provence - during our week stay, we visited Avignon, Arles, Marseille (by train), Le Thor, Les Baux de Provence and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (the latter two were particularly delightful). We also found a lot to interest us in L'Isle Sur la Sorgue with its many eateries, antique shops, boutiques, and the Sunday/Thursday outdoor markets. Parking was absolutely no problem - after the first day we didn't bother parking on the street since a free public parking lot was available about a half a block away. The owners Claire and Gerard were great. Within 5 minutes of phoning Claire to tell her that we were outside the apartment, she arrived to let us in and spent a fair bit of time providing all the details on the apartment as well as recommendations to help make our stay in Sorgue and Provence enjoyable. A welcome gift of a very nice bottle of wine and local tapenade was an especially thoughtful touch. We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to friends and family.

Beautiful Apartment, Wonderful Owners

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently stayed at Le Petit Picasso and found it to be absolutely wonderful. When we first arrived we found locating the apartment a little difficult so we phone Claire, the owner, she walked around to meet us in the town square in the rain and kindly took us to the beautiful apartment. Claire then helped us with our luggage, gave us a run down on all of the things to experience in the area and then walked us around to a fantastic restaurant that she recommended.

My wife a I have a wonderful meal and met a lovely couple from Canada, we then lost our way home and in despair phoned Claire at 11pm, she kindly offered to come and pick us up but fortunately was able to pin point our position and direct us home.

Do not miss the markets and you must visit Fountaine De Vaucluse, just unbelievable.

Claire is just the most delightful person anyone could meet and could not have been more helpful.

The apartment is large and very comfortable and is sunny all day, all of the appliances worked perfectly and the apartment is a 5 minute stroll to the town centre.

We would highly recommend the Italian pasta restaurant next door to Café France, the owners are wonderful and their meals are very reasonably priced.

Thank you again Claire, we will be back!

L'isle Sur La Sorgue is famous for it's antique shops and markets and for it's delightful waterways and mossy waterwheels. The old town is charming with little shaded streets and open squares to explore. It has everything you need for a relaxing holiday for a few days, a week or as long as you can spare.

The town is medium size which ensures it is lively all year round; the old town being small enough though that you can become quite familiar with it and walk to everything you need. This home is away from the hustle and bustle but just around the corner!

L'Isle sur la Sorgue is known as having the largest number of antique and brocante dealers outside of Paris and you can spend many hours browsing their wares and eating in the restaurants you will find amongst them.

It has a selection of galleries showing very high quality artworks, many little stores to browse and too many good cafes, restaurants, wine bars and ice cream shops to sample in one holiday!

The Thursday and Sunday produce markets offer a delightful selection of everything fresh - the hardest part is not buying so much that you don't need to eat out.
