About Steve Snow

We are a family of four that look to provide everything we want when we are on vacation! We hope you choose to stay with us at Seawillows, Thank you!

Steve Snow purchased this house in 2004

Why Steve Snow chose Harwich - Harwichport

We fell in love with this house and have put our hearts into renovating it. When we were walking through the house with the previous owner Kim, (who was great), we stopped on the back staircase and looked at each other and said we have to figure out how to buy this place. And Kim, who was selling the house by owner accepted our offer! We love coming down and spending time down here with our family and friends. We were lucky to find Seawillows, and love spending time down here!

What makes this house unique

There are very few properties in this price range that can accomodate 12+ people in one place with beds - especially in this price range. It is an excellent value - great property at a great price! This house is great for families with kids, with a lot of books, games, toys, video's and separate spaces. Most kids love to play hide and seek since there are many nooks and crannies and two staircases. Toddler beds, cribs, pack'n'plays, High chair, etc.

Also great for people who want ability to walk to restaurants and shops. Five to ten great food options within a casual walk down Willow street. Also some fantastic shoppes of all kinds in the same area!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to take the time to let you know what an incredible time we had at the "Sea Willows" cottage. We have been heading to the Cape for about 12 years now, and typically we rent 3 separate cottages for our 3 families. It was nice, but not always convenient, especially with little ones how need to get to bed early. Having everyone under one roof made for such an easy time for all! The grown-ups had their place to relax at the end of the day, the kids had theirs (with more toys than they knew what to do with), and no one had to leave the fun early to take a little one to bed!

Having all the amenities there was especially nice; it definitely made the packing easier! And the kitchen was much more roomier than the picture led on. In fact, the entire cottage was much bigger than we expected.

So THANKS! again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful family reunion week

  • 4 of 5

This property was a great place for our extended family of 16 to spend a week. We rented both the house and the barn to have everyone fit comfortably. We used the barn for our four teenagers to stay, since they liked to stay up late and sleep in.

The yard was PERFECT! We ate outside every evening, since we were blessed with gorgeous weather all week. We set up bocci, croquet, corn hole, Frisbee, a hammock and used the moveable fire pit for making s'mores. It was my father's favorite place to be as we all gathered around and just visited.

The beaches are close - we were able to walk to one, and drive to others. There is a kayak rental close by, shopping, restaurants, ice cream shops, putt putt and music played outdoors all very close within a few minutes drive. Some of us even took the ferry to Martha's Vineyard for the day.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the lack of A/C. It was my error, and I didn't realize there wouldn't be AC. My dad is almost 80 and in hot weather, it can be difficult. But as I said, we were blessed with great weather and after one or two hot days, it cooled enough and the homeowners had plenty of fans, so we hardly noticed.

There is a lovely closed in porch that we also gathered in the evening to watch TV and played lots of board games, and did puzzles. The homeowners have a ton of movies, games, puzzles and books for guests to use while they are there. It's really great for families with young children.

Be sure to pay attention to which beach you get an access pass from. We somehow had some of our family members get a beach pass to one beach, while others got the correct pass to closer beaches. It can cost $20 per car per day at a beach, so make sure you all get the correct pass. The owner can advise you.

There are great outdoor showers when you return to the beach. The home is older, but clean and the kitchens in the main house were updated and beautiful. It came in handy to have two kitchens! Plenty of dishes, pots, pans, silverware to cook and eat with. The owners do a nice job of making you feel at home.

We left a set of our keys behind (oops) and the owner was nice and sent them along once we realized it and contacted him. We found them to be nice and responsive to any questions we had throughout the week as well as before we came. They have a great book of suggestions, maps, and menus. Look for that when you first arrive.

We made great memories!

Owner's Response: Hi Maria, Thank you so much for all the thought you put into your review - we really appreciate it. While we strive for 5 stars, your reasoning makes a lot of sense. We obviously don't tell anyone we have A/C, and are hopeful that we will add it one of these days! And with the hottest August in history this year in Massachusetts - it would be awesome, when we do add A/C. Again, so glad you and your family had a great time and enjoyed the properties! Hopefully, we will get you back here soon! Kind Regards - Steve & Maura

Enjoyable location and property

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this property. We definitely liked the two kitchen areas and large stove that helped spread people and dishes out during cooking and cleanup for 12 people. The amount of bed space worked out well also. We enjoyed the beaches and ponds nearby and found a good route to take the younger kids on bikes up to the pond. Thanks for letting us use your home.

Great house with great owners

  • 5 of 5

We were in need of a house for four couples for a wedding being held in Harwichport during September- when we arrived the house was in tremendous condition and was perfect for what we needed. The outdoor area was a perfect place for us to relax and unwind in between wedding events. The location is great it was close to the beach and close to town - we had a wonderful stay. Steve and his wife are amazing owners, they make sure their guests have everything they need to have a pleasant stay. I would suggest staying here to anyone with a larger group of people!

Lovely home for family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Steve and Maura's Cape Cod home. We had a family of four, plus both sets of in-laws, so 8 people in all, and there was plenty of space for everyone. Their home was wonderfully taken care of, with lovely New England decorations. The kitchen was just redone, and is beautiful. Our girls absolutely loved the "surf room" which had wonderful light streaming in. The various sitting rooms gave everyone plenty of space to either be together or have time apart. We even did a BBQ dinner one night on the grill. My girls also had so much fun playing wiffle ball with their grandparents (one of the many toys/games available). Steve and Maura were very helpful before and during our trip, giving us suggestions on things to do/see in the area. The location was also very convenient, centrally located to scenic towns both west and northeast of Harwich, and close to Star Supermarket and a small organic food market. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone else visiting the area.

Beautiful weekend for a wedding.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this home, it was a quick trip for five couples to attend a friends wedding. The home was cozy and had plenty of space for us all to get ready and spend quality time together. Steve is an amazing host, very open with communication before our stay. I couldn't say enough kind words to describe our interactions. Our group is already discussing our next trip :)

Wonderful house for families with children

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our mini family reunion with our 3 children, spouses, and 5 grandchildren, ages 7 and under! Everything we could want for the grandchildren was provided - double stroller, high chairs, cribs, toddler beds, playroom, toys, books, outdoor slides, and a dirt hole to dig in. This roomy house provided many areas for either solitude or family games. Plus the ample grounds were perfect for outdoor games or just sitting and watching everyone have fun. The hammock was a great hit with the kids. We were able to walk to a nice beach and convenient stores were nearby.

The owners, were wonderful to deal with throughout the entire rental process. They always responded quickly to all of my endless questions via email. There was a problem with the wifi when we arrived, but they took care of that right away. It was great to actually meet this very accommodating couple.

Our family will DEFINITELY rent this house again!

West Harwich is located in the mid-Cape area of Cape Cod on Nantucket Sound with miles of ocean and freshwater beaches. The Cape Cod Rail Trail for bicycling runs through the town, and there are well over 600 acres of open space and conservation lands for walking, jogging and birdwatching. Launch a kayak or boat around the corner from the house on the Herring River. Miniature golf, trampolines and go-go carts, are just minutes away, as are restaurants, day spas, summer stock, movie theaters, Cape Cod summer league baseball and great shopping. Wonderful public golf courses and tennis are close by. Harwich Port and its three gorgeous harbors and shops is just down the road.

Other Activities: wonderful crabbing on Herring River
