Bear Valley is a family-oriented Sierra mountain resort in Alpine County, located between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite, only 3.5 hours from the San Francisco Bay area. Bear Valley is located off of Highway 4, a less traveled and highly maintained road that almost never closes in winter. In the Winter, Bear Valley cabins are closed to cars, (pedestrian and snowmobile access only) adding to its beauty and peacefulness. After you park once in the central parking lot, this cabin is only a 5-10 minute walk from the Lodge and Restaurants. FREE shuttle buses take you right to the ski lodge every hour and back home on the half hour, or you can ski down the Home Run at the end of the day, right to the cabin door!
This updated and cozy cabin features four bedrooms and a loft, two full baths, large living room with gas stove, and updated kitchen. There are three bedrooms upstairs: Room #1 has a full-size bed and connects to a bathroom; Room #2 has a queen-size bed; and Room #3 has two twins beds. The downstairs bedroom #4 has a queen-size bed.
Bear Valley offers a great variety of activities from skiing in winter to hiking, biking, and other summer activities including classical and popular music festivals. If you are looking for a less crowded alternative to other busy mountain resorts like Lake Tahoe, Bear Valley is the place for you.
We provide plastic sleds for you to carry in your belongings; snowmobile transportation service can be arranged from the Bear Valley Transportation Center if required for an extra fee.

We found your cabin to be quite comfortable and convenient. We would definitely recommend it to our friends who ski or just want to have fun in the snow.
This mountain cabin is very tastefully decorated and has everything you need. The house was literally buried under the snow. The snow shovels and sleds in the entry way came in handy. Kitchen and living are nicely sized and very attractive. A great rental!
We had a great time at the Cozy Cabin. It was very homey, in that it felt more like being in a home than in a hotel. We had all the supplies we needed. The eight of us comfortably fit there. It was a surprisingly close walk to the parking lot, even though it felt like we were far away. I'd be happy to go back!
The cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway. Walking distance to the village shops & bear valley resort shuttle. The sleds were helpful to transport our luggage. Kitchen had everything we could have needed. Fireplace and floor heaters worked well to keep us warm. We had a fantastic time. Thank you for sharing your home.
We had an amazing long weekend in Bear Valley and truly enjoyed the cabin! The location was perfect and the kids loved it. Backyard had pine cones to play with and rocks to climb and enjoy. Everything was a close walk: nature trails, hike up to the lake, the lodge, and rock climbing. The cabin was clean and spacious and had a wonderful kitchen for us to cook and BBQ. We really look forward to returning again!
If you are looking for a true snowy wonderland experience, this is it! If you are already familiar with the whole Bear Valley cabins situation, you already understand the layout - but if like us you it is all new to you, make sure you read the directions. (Our other couple arrived first, in the rainy dark after a long drive, and were not the happiest as they wandered around in deep snow looking for sign posts in the rain.) So if you will be arriving at night please DO read the directions thoroughly, bring strong flashlights, and make sure you know where you are going, as it is a tiny bit tricky. But it is WELL worth the effort - once we found our beautiful cabin, we were beyond thrilled. As the instructions state, you park in the plowed parking lot and walk a fairly short distance on snow covered roads to the cabin. You can also arrange for snowmobile taxi service (for a very low fee) or collect sleds on the porch to fetch your belongings from your car. After that you are in the most pristine, idyllic world. It is quiet and beautiful. It is also an easy walk over to the lodge if you want a drink, a library book, to rent skis or a snowmobile, or really anything. But why would you? The house is gorgeous. The fireplace is gas, keeps everything toasty (and you never need to chop wood or breath in smoke). The bedrooms and baths are spotless and up to date. The kitchen and dining room are comfy and charming. This is not a cabin furnished with someone's mismatched outcast furniture, but a very lovingly cared-for home. One day we rented skis in the lodge, caught the shuttle bus (which leaves right there) up to Bear Valley, enjoyed the slopes all day, and then skied back down, returned our skis and strolled home. If you have your own skis you could catch the shuttle up and just ski straight to your door - it is a beautiful long run. There is also a gorgeous cross-country area just across the road. We also rented snow mobiles, just for fun - a first time adventure. Can't say enough about how beautiful it was. We give this cabin our highest rating. Just be aware you can't stroll in and out -- to us that was part of the fun, but if someone in your group isn't up to walking in snow, that may be an issue. Otherwise, it really makes this far and away a much more special place - one you really won't forget
The cabin was exactly what we needed. We came to Bear Valley for a wedding. The house was a great fit and Sue was great with communication.
Would definitely recommend!
