Lake Tahoe North Shore Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-6)

This one bedroom, one bath Ski Trail condo lets you literally BIKE IN AND BIKE OUT, JUST A FEW FEET FROM YOUR FRONT DOOR. Park the car, forget about the shuttle, and stop carrying your equipment hundreds of yards. We have two boot dryers/heaters for your use. (And the secure locker just outside the front door lets you leave your gear outside the unit.)

The living room features a large leather sectional sofa, real wood-burning fireplace with gas starter, and a 55-inch wall-mounted HD flat panel TV with HD programming and a DVD/DVR (Like Tivo). We also provide high speed internet access via a high speed cable connection and Wi-Fi.

The kitchen includes a large refrigerator with ice maker, gas stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker. You can eat at the pass-through bar between the kitchen and living room, or use the table, which can accommodate four.

In addition to the queen-size bed in the bedroom, the living room sofa easily converts to a queen-size sleeper. Two foam sleeping pads are also available for floor use, and are great for kids. We have added a queen size air bed. Very comfortable.

Your stay will also give you access to (and gated, private parking at) the recreation center ($2.00 per person per day), which has a complete workout gym, an outdoor heated lap pool open year-round, and three large hot tub spas available only to Ski Trail owners and guests.

It really is ski-in ski-out

  • 5 of 5

It sits right on the "condo run" ski trail. Excellent location (if "condo run" is open).

Apartment was great, clean and in good condition. The only complaint I could have is that the heating was quite noisy when running.

Perfect Ski-in/Ski-out

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with our two-year old and it was perfect. In order to actually get out on the slopes, we needed to be able to just swap out taking care of him and this place was truly a ski in and ski out, and it worked great. The property was clean, comfortable and well situated. We would stay here again.

Great location and comfortable accommodation

  • 4 of 5

We've stayed in a few of the ski trails condos over the years and this property stands out as one of the better ones. The property is comfortable, quite well equipped and has very easy access onto and off the Village run so it is "ski in / ski out" bar a pretty short walk.

As others have noted the boot warmers (and glove dryers) are a really nice touch and perfect for the ski in / out nature of the condo - it really does make it a bit easier getting into ski boots if they are pre-warmed.

We had a minor logistical issue with getting the parking pass but Tom was very responsive on email and sorted it out in good time - so we can also commend the attention to detail in making the overall experience as straightforward and stress free as possible.

Our only grumble was that the heating system was rather noisy - more so than other properties we've stayed in - maybe it needs checking out. We resorted to turning the thermostat down just before we retired to bed - to prevent the heating firing up regularly and disturbing us - as it was particularly noticeable in the bedroom. And that's the only reason we have gone 4 stars instead of 5 - and if we could we'd have gone with 4.5 stars.

Would certainly stay at this property again and that is the best recommendation we can give.

Great Condo!

  • 5 of 5

This condo has one of the best ski in locations we have ever stayed at. The condo is clean and very comfy. The only thing we noticed is the hide a bed sofa sleeper is a bit worn out and sags quite a bit - not sure 2 adults could sleep on it. My daughter opted to sleep on the aerobed inflatable instead. Overall a great stay and we loved the boot warmers! So convenient we would stay here again. Kitchen is really well stocked and good usable pots, pans and dishes - not your typical worn out rental stuff. We cooked a full meal and had all of the equipment we needed.

Nice condo in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The condo is as advertised, great location, comfortable and well-equipped. And as others have commented, the owner Tom is responsive and provides excellent support. The condo was nicely cleaned and prepared for our stay.

Rather than repeat comments made in previous reviews, here is some additional information:

- A true ski in/ski out: at the time of writing this review, there is a 3-feet base at the condo so plenty of snow to ski from the condo to the gondola (the 'Big Springs Express Gondola') that takes you to the main lodge at the base of the mountain. Ski back to the condo on the 'Condo Run' (this runs parallel to the 'Village Run')

- A 5-7 minute walk down to the Village - look for the trail that runs under the gondola - and a 5 minute walk to the 'Highlands Gondola' which is free, operates into the evening (9pm, later on weekends) and takes you to the Ritz Carlton. A nice place for non-skiers to check out the action on the slopes.

- WiFi: robust and fast, we measured 15Mbps

- Large 60" HDTV with many HD channels including HBO plus a DVR to record programs

- Fully equipped kitchen: fridge, dishwasher, oven, range, microwave, drip coffee maker plus filters, toaster, electric kettle

There is no grocery store in the Northstar Village but there is a large Safeways in Truckee. Stop by the 'Dark Horse Coffee Roasters' in Downtown Truckee for the best coffee in town.

Overall pretty close to perfect

  • 4 of 5

The location was perfect! We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. I do wish Id known before hand that I had to run out and get firewood. So didnt have to go out in the dark all the way to the store. Otherwise This place is a gem for the price! Could use some updated board games for the kids maybe. Northstar activities close promptly at 9pm so you have to be prepared to drive or be prepared to stay in and watch tv play games etc.. This is our 2nd time and will definately come back. Clean and comfortable!
