Stunning Uninterrupted Eiger Views (Floor-to-Ceiling windows, Attic apartment)

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,291 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, Sleeps 6

The Monte Rosa is a 3 bedroom Attic apartment, with a beautiful vaulted wooden ceiling. It has uninterrupted views of the north face of the Eiger. Light floods into the very spacious open plan 3rd floor apartment living area from 'floor to ceiling' windows. Take in the stunning scenery from the large south facing balcony. Enjoying evening meals from the comfort of the dining table, with a view of the sun setting on the Eiger vista, we are sure you will agree, is a very special experience.

The 120m2 apartment sleeps 6 (3 bedrooms), with two bathrooms (there is a bath, and a free standing shower), one of which is en suite to the master bedroom. Two of the bedrooms have double beds, and the third has 2 twin beds. The Monte Rosa has a fully equipped kitchen, with high spec appliances. The apartment has its own private covered parking space (under the chalet). There is wireless internet connection, satellite TV, and DVD player provided. There are laundry facilities downstairs. Both a cot and a high chair is available if needed.

The chalet is located in a very quiet private road. It’s both a short walk up to the town centre, and a short walk down to the Grindelwald Grund train station. Conveniently there is a ski bus stop very nearby too. Whether skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer, or just exploring Grindelwald and the surrounding area, the Monte Rosa Attic is a perfect base.

Fantastic family vacation site!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is a terrific home-base in Grindelwald to experience the grandeur of the Swiss Alps with Schnigge Platte, First, Kleine Scheidigg and Jungfraujoch all easily accessable on day-trips. Modern amenities and 3 bedrooms make it ideal for a family vacation. My wife and I were accompanied by our two sons and their wives for a week in early September. Each couple would set off on their own adventure (6 hour hikes, 1-2 hour walks, or city tours of Lucerne, Bern or Interlaken) and we would reconvene at the apartment in the evenings to recap our day. Living is easy in Grindelwald, but visitors should expect that transportation and restaurant prices match the high level Swiss efficiency and cleanliness. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and would highly recommend the apartment.

Spacious, Modern Comfort in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in Monte Rosa Attic as a family of 5, and were completely at home. The apartment is very well equipped (good Wifi, great TV and satellite/DVD, very modern cooker, fridge, etc.), spacious and light, and exceptionally well located (a 5 minute walk to the station, although it is a steep climb which may cause some people problems). Views towards the Eiger from the balcony and living space are superb. The beds were comfortable, although the pillows were too thin. The property was clean and well presented. The property manager, Diarmuid, was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, I would certainly recommend this place to friends and family - we have visited Switzerland on several occasions and this is the best apartment we have stayed in.

Amazing View

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is gorgeous but you won't spend much time looking at it, your attention is monopolised by the amazing view of the Eiger. I'd seen all the photos but still wasn't prepared for the the impact, it totally blew me away. We could of spent all week on the balcony looking at the mountains but managed to drag ourselves away and did some terrific walking. I would particularly recommend the Eiger Trail and the glacier walk from Jungfraujoch to Monchsjoch. The town is genuinely only a ten minute walk uphill, and restaurants I would recommend are Bistro Memory and C&M Cafe Bar. A fabulous holiday, I feel privileged to of been able to stay in this apartment.

The apartment is superb!

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of three generations and all had a super time. The apartment is lovely and the views are stunning. Granted it is a climb to the top floor but if you don't climb to the top of the mountain you wont see the views. Only critism i had was that the pillows could be better. Everything else was faultless.
