We truly enjoyed our stay at Paradise at the Beach and would recommend our
friends to stay there.
Our stay in St. Thomas was wonderful. We stayed at a condo in the Sapphire Beach Resort we rented from Paradise at the Beach. The location was perfect. The condo was on the 2nd floor, which I thought might be an inconvenience, but it was actually better than the 1st floor. With the higher elevation we were able to enjoy the beautiful view of the beach and the bay every morning when we woke up. The condo was clean and quiet. There were plenty of towels and dishes for our needs. The owners also provide snorkel gear, which looked to be brand new. And speaking of the owners, I have to say how wonderful Jeff was in assisting us during our stay. My husband had to have emergency surgery a few weeks before our trip and I forgot to make car reservations. By the time I tried to make reservations, all the car companies were completely booked. I called Jeff and he was able to quickly get us a reservation. Jeff also was quick to respond when we needed assistance finding things around the condo. He also was able to help us with the rental car after our departure. I can't say enough about how attentive and helpful he was for us. Our visit to St. Thomas was our first. We took a trip to St. John's for a tour of the island. I would recommend taking the ferry over and asking one of the taxi drivers for a tour. The cost was $25 pp, but was very well worth it. The gentleman that gave us the tour had lived on the island since 1956 and helped build the infrastructures there. We also took an all day sail with Alaunt Charters. That was wonderful. Ron and Carol, the owners, gave us a private tour around the islands and took us out for our first snorkel trip. I highly recommend them. We loved our trip to St. Thomas and can't wait to come back. We would definitely stay at Sapphire Beach again.
I was really impressed with our condo. The king bed was very nice and there was everything we needed in it. I had talked to the owner about having to rent snorkel gear (you can rent it at the beach, but we were planning on going to several beaches and didn't want to rent gear at every beach). Our condo owner purchased four sets of snorkel gear to be stored in the condo. Excellent snorkeling right off shore. And if you go, you have to do a day sail on the Nightwind. We zip lined, did jet skis, paddle boarded, and went over to St John's for a day, but the day sail trip was our best day. The only negative thing I would say is that it appears that the Sapphire Beach Resort has been under renovation. It would be nice to see when done, but I had a few people state it's been under renovation for several years. Also to note, it's a good location. Close to ferry to St Johns, grocery store and several resturants. Not much shopping close by, but we spent part of the day in Charolette Amaile. If you plan to do this, be sure to go when a cruise ship is in, otherwise a lot of the stores will be closed. Most ships in port Mon-Wed.
We had an amazing stay at Sapphire Beach. Our airline lost our checked luggage, which had our snorkel gear in it. We had planned to snorkel 95% of our trip to St. Thomas, so we were pretty bummed that we had to share the two sets that were in our condo between the four of us. Jeff sent someone over right away with two more sets of snorkel gear. He completely saved our trip. The beach was beautiful. We went snorkeling at Coki Beach, Hawksnest (on St. John) and Trunk Bay (on St. John) while we were there and we still think that Sapphire Beach had the best snorkeling. The beach was never overcrowded and we all loved to lay out there all day. We bought a tiny grill while we were down there and cooked many of our meals on the beach. It was very convenient to have the key pad on the door so that we never had to worry about keys or anything. We could run down to the beach in our swimwear without hauling anything with us.
Location, location, location. The views from this unit are amazing and the unit was absolutely as described. Jeff was wonderful to work with from beginning to end. It was just what we needed for our vacation with an 8 and 6 y/o. Would love to go back at some point.
The condo was absolutley perfect for a couples getaway. The unit was clean and well taken care of. The views from the balcony were exceptional and the beach was equally matched! Jeff was great to work with for booking the reservation and providing us with all of the details that we needed. An added bonus was having a care to get around the island whenever we wanted to. The only item that would have been nice would have been a few basic spices for cooking. We left the sugar and spices that we purchased in hopes that if other travelers did the same they could just be passed forward. Other than that it was an absolutely perfect vacation and the condo was fantastic! We would stay at one of Jeff & Kelly's properties anytime we return to St. Thomas. Thank you!!
We had such a great vacation at St Thomas. Staying at Sapphire Beach resort was the undoubtedly the best choice after reading all the good reviews. Jeff's condo is at the best location in building C.Right at the middle of the complex. Away from the cruise ship tourists if there were any. August being the low season, there weren't that many ship docking that week. On 1 day there were suppose to have 3 ships, we avoided the crowd by going to BVI that day.
The condo had such a stunning view, it was such a pleasure to have breakfast at the balcony every morning.
The kitchen is well equipped. Fridge has ice maker. There are a blender and even George Foreman.
There are plenty of beach and bath towels.
The resort is less than 5 mins drive to Redhook. My husband walked there 1 day, it only took him 20 mins. Being so close to Redhook was a big plus, we did not have to get up too,too early even when we took the earliest car barge to St. John.
Banana Cabana is right next to building C. It serves breakfast starting at 7 am,lunch, then close at 5pm. Burgers were decent $11, 6 pieces chicken tender, I think it was $12. It was yummy with honey mustard. They serve a good variety of cocktail, from painkiller, bushwacker, lime and coconut. for $8.
Susie will come to take our order and deliver the food right to your lounge chair.
We also use the concierge service to book a daysail with Breakaway to go to BVI. Jody was very helpful. The marina was right behind the condo, that was where we board the Breakaway and it was so convenient.
My friend's family rented the unit next door. The balconies was conjoining. A car was included for each unit. We ended up using the coupon and upgraded to a 7 seaters Ford Flex. and paid $619 extra, that included all the taxes and insurance. It was all worth it!
We subscribed internet when we got there, It was $40 for a week. Allow 2 users at a time. However the reception at C201 was very poor. It took 15 mins to load a page. Out in the balcony had no problem. My friend's unit also had no problem.
We went to St John twice.Trunk bay 1 day and Watermelon Cay another day.Watermelon Cay had the best snorkeling. We saw sea turtles, reef shark and sting rays. The day sail to BVI was fabulous. They honor the 10% off even we did not book online.
Overall we had such a great vacation at Sapphire Beach resort. We sure will go back one day.
Thank you Jeff for promptly answering all our questions.
