About Pablo Reyes Muñoz
We are a local family who has owned the property for over twenty year. In 2014 we decided to open it to guests with the intention of offering high-standard accommodation to nature lovers a short ride away from Tarifa and its beaches. Since then we have been gradually undertaking a full renovation of the space. We have now completed the redesign and modernisation of two independent houses (El Alcornoque and El Acebuche) within the 2000 sqm parcel. We are fortunate to have hosted wonderful people from all walks of life and from all over Europe and beyond. We’d love to host you too!
Pablo Reyes Muñoz purchased this Cottage in 1995

This property is fantastic, comfortable and cosy, it has everything you need
We spent ten days at El Chapparo and the only issue was the road, but if you go slow its okay. The property is situated in beautiful countryside amongst the cork oaks with many wild flowers. We enjoyed pleasant walks in the hills. The property is lovely with fantastic views down the valley to the sea and even across it to North Africa. There is a secluded seating area which is perfect for watching the eagles and vultures as well as the domestic animals from the nearby farm. It is so peaceful, the only noise is the bells on the goats which is just lovely. There is a log burner and wood is supplied, so on a couple of cool evenings we had a fire, which makes the bedroom in the loft area very warm. During our stay we had several walks in Tarifa, along the beach and round the old town. There are three good supermarkets in the town so plenty options for shopping.
We explored the local area and would definately reccomend it if you are looking for a holiday away from busy resorts
Fabulous remote location but a bit of a drive to get into Tarifa
The villa is in a great location in the middle of a nature park with a smallholding opposite and goats, cattle, sheep, pigs, chicken, etc. roaming around. We were lucky enough to have vultures flying low directly over us several times and landing just 100m away on two occasions. It has a great view out the lounge window and is comfortable but with quirky, low-roofed bedrooms. Because it is a long way down a dirt track, badly potholed after winter when we were there, it was a bit of a trek to get into Tarifa. A great place if you want peace, quiet and countryside, but not the best for visiting restaurants in the evening.
I felt like Heidi in my loft bedroom:)
We had an awesome stay at El Chaparro. The cottage was clean and simple but comfortable for my daughter and I. The mountain side was quiet and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We especially enjoyed waking to the sound of the bells of the goatherds heading out to graze. The owners were very gracious and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The road to the cottage is a bit rough, so it might be good to have a rugged vehicle and try to arrive in the light! Also, read the guest book right up front. We waited until we had been there a day or two and missed some important information, like that the water is not treated and should be drank at your own risk. Overall, I would recommend this cottage to anyone who enjoys nature and the peace and quiet of a mountain location.
Authentic Rural Spain!
My mother and I stayed here for 4 nights and used it as a base to explore the region and for a day trip to Tangier. We chose it for its rural location and the beautiful setting and were not disappointed. Pablo was very attentive to all of my questions in advance of our arrival and made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. The house is very clean and has new furniture, appliances and bathroom.
The road to the house must be traveled with caution as there are numerous potholes, but attentive driving will ensure safe passage. The internet connection is not 100% reliable, but it always worked for at least part of the evening and in the early morning. The house is located on a farm and you can hear the bells around the necks of the goats in the evening as the migrate to a barnyard. We found this charming.
We were very happy with our stay and I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to explore pueblas blancas and other southwester Andalucian cities.
We really enjoyed meeting Amy and her mother. They were very nice and grateful guests.
Concerning to internet, although we had a good connection by cable, we experimented some problems with wifi system, which we have already resolved. Now we have a more reliable wifi connection.
The rural way (4 Km) is repaired once a year, and it often appears some potholes after winter rainfalls, so It is recommendable to drive carefully, specially during winter and spring time.
Otherwise, we like helping our guests in their travels around Andalucía and providing some information about the Natural Park.
Apartment located in the Natural Park of the Acorns, instead recognized as SPAs (Special Protection Area for Birds), 11km from Tarifa and its famous beaches (25 minutes). Ideal for lovers of nature and outdoor activities (bird watching, mushroom picking, cycling, hiking, climbing, windsurfing, etc.). Near the city of Tarifa, to historical and cultural interest, the Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia (Bologna) and other enclaves of prehistoric remains (dolmens and caves). The apartment is also close to other attractions such as the Shrine of Our Lady of Light, the rocky shores of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic fine sand. Being accessible to Tarifa (25 minutes drive) you can also enjoy the benefits of this city such as: nightlife, restaurants, Tanger connection, whale watching, diving, etc.
Important Notice: The state in which is the CA-2215 rural road leading from the road to the house varies by season. There is a maintenance once a year, but often the appearance of bumps in the road after rains, so you have to drive carefully.
