Perfect countryside cottage with lovely hosts and easy access to the city

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay here! You are in the country side surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife yet so close to Amsterdam centre due to the brilliant public transport system. Margot was the perfect host, left us to it but was there whenever we needed her. The only down side was we only stayed two nights!! We would love to come back for longer another time! Can't recommend this place enough. Thank you again, Beth and Jay x

Close in rural charm!

  • 4 of 5

Margo, Bas and the kids were a delightful bunch. The little cottage is comfortable and toasty on a cold day. They were very helpful with all of my needs and questions. It's a fairly rural setting, but the bus stop to Amsterdam is a quick 2-3 minute bike ride and ten minutes to the Central Station. If you want to eat somewhere close the Drie Noten bar and restaurant are just a short bike ride down the road. It was nice to come away from the city and get some small town fun in too. You have Marken, Edam, and Volendam all within a close bus or ferry ride. It's a small space but comfortable. Thanks Margo and Bas!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Margot was the perfect host alongside the wonderful, homely cottage which is kept immaculately clean and tidy. Modern interior with all necessitates included, the bikes and travel cards were a great added bonus and made our trip 100x easier and cheaper, would recommend to anyone.

Pretty cottage with lovely hosts!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage itself was kept amazingly and was exactly what we were looking for our break away! The host Margot was lovely and welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. The location of the property is secluded but is only a short walk away from the bus station which took us right into the centre of Amsterdam! The surroundings are also very tranquil and relaxing. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Amsterdam!

Beautiful and relaxing stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved our stay at Margot's cottage. The cottage is clean, tidy and nicely appointed. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and peaceful, with neighboring towns straight out of a storybook. We both felt we got the best sleep of our 12 day trip during the 2 nights at this cottage. We enjoyed use of the bicycles for quick rides to/from the bus stop into Amsterdam, as well as a morning ride through the countryside. You can also ride easily all the way into Amsterdam, or take the bicycles to the ferry---all lovely options. The location is ideal for what we were looking for, a bit of quiet countryside with easy access into Amsterdam. Our only regret is not staying longer!
