My Birthday Weekend was fantastic!
The house big and beautiful. Very clean and the owners very nice. Loved the coffee bar. Walking distance to everything. 1st time my adult children were in Galena and they loved it! We be back in the fall!!
5th annual Galena visit
We visited Galena for the living windows for the 5th year in a row. I think we have found a house that we hope to utilize for future visits! Our group consisted of my husband and myself, 3 kids (ages 9-14) and a friend of our daughters. We messaged the owner on Friday saying we got an early start and would be in town early. She quickly responded with the fact that house was ready for us and we could get in early. A pleasant surprise.
Upon arrival we found off street parking connected to the house. Another definite plus. The kids unlocked the front door and the first thing they say was a HUGE Christmas tree. Being as we were here to celebrate the season this was terrific!
We all scattered to claim bedrooms. Each bedroom was cozy and tastefully decorated. I was a bit worried on how warm the house would be because it’s so old. The owners thought this through as well. There were extra fireplace space heaters located throughout the house.
After unpacking we headed to Main Street. Literally down a staircase (and not one of the huge staircases either). The proximity to everything was great. Running back and forth to drop off packages was no big deal at all.
The owners supplied coffee for both keurigs and a standard coffee maker. The kitchen was well equipped. The only thing I can think of adding would be a toaster and a large frying pan/skillet. Then again the majority of people probably just run to Main St for breakfast.
For the down time we played games, also supplied by the owners. There seemed to be ample channels on the tv. We did bring our firestick and used that as well.
I would not hesitate to recommend this rental to anyone. Great owners, great house and great location.
Thank you for your review! We are glad you found our Row House for your families' stay in Galena. It continues to be a very special getaway for our own family and we are constantly looking for ways to improve it both for ourselves as well as guests. We do have a toaster and frying pan but they were put away in a lower cabinet! I have since reorganized the kitchen and made sure things are a lot easier to find. Thanks again for your stay, we look forward to having you back!
The home, the decor, rhe appointments, the location, the owner - all amazing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
