La Jardinerie, independant converted building is part of the old Farm of the Château of Aumeville-Lestre. You will arrive by the driveway planted with lime trees some of which are more than a hundred years old and will discover, hidden from the main road, a very peaceful and delightful setting.

Our cottage offers all the modern facilities as well as a play area for children, different garden areas and a private South facing terrace with view on the orchard, where you will be able to rest in the sun, enjoy a barbecue or an apéritif, .

Only a stone's throw from the sea it is the ideal place to spend great holidays as you can combine resting and resourcing with enjoying a wide range of activities.

Being in the 'Parc Régional des marais', a conservation area, the countryside around is home to a rich and varied wildlife.

At the end of the driveway, once you've passed the gate, you will find a nature trail leading through the marshes towards the sea. You can hence access the horse riding school on foot, the oyster farms or the track which is great if you want to cycle or run up to Quinéville or even further to the Landing Beaches, Ravenoville, Utah Beach...

If you are an early riser, you can walk or run down the quiet lane (700 meters) to admire the sun rising from the sea...!

Outside, barbecue, garden furnitures, a ping-pong table, a tractor for children, toys for the beach are at your disposal.

There is internet access although it is not very stable or powerfull.

GROUND FLOOR: (90 square meters)

- BEDROOM with large double bed and en-suite shower room, you can access directly to the terrace. This room is ideal for persons who have difficulties to climb up the stairs or for teenagers/ parents who wish to be a bit away from the rest of the group.

- LARGE LIVING ROOM: with sofas, TV, wood burner, music centre, nice view on the terrace, dining area, open kitchen (Oven, microwave, fridge, dish-washer), lot of utensils and crookery

- WC, utility area with Washing machine, iron, table, etc...

FIRST FLOOR:(90 square meters)

- BEDROOM with large double bed+ en-suite bath & wash-basin

- BEDROOM (30 m2) with 4 single beds ideal for children but also possible to make it as a third bedroom for a couple (bed of 1m80 wide) + 2 kids.

- Shower room

- WC

So that you feel on holiday straight away, your beds will be ready made when you arrive; the linen prepared with towels, tea towels and bath mats.

We can lend you equipment for your babies (high chair, cots, bath tub, etc..).

If you wish, we can also do some shopping for you an fill up the fridge.

Wood is included.

About Emanuèle Argentin

I have been working as a property manager for the last 10 years and concentrate on the Val de Saire area which is situated at the North East of the Cotentin Peninsula between Barfleur, Saint- Vaast-la-Hougue and Quinéville. Over these years, I have been involved in improving the quality of rentals and offering high quality services to holiday makers.

My husband works as a warden for Conservatoire du littoral and is a keen naturalist.

Why Emanuèle Argentin chose Cherbourg area

This property is part of the former FERME du château d'Aumeville-Lestre which we have been restauring for 15 years.

Our first gîte 'Le pavillon de Garde' being so successful we have decided to convert an extra building so that more guests can enjoy this wonderful place.

This new house is completely independent and has its own access, parking spaces and privacy.

What makes this cottage unique

Set in an orchard, it is very peaceful and offers a south facing terrace.

The house itself is very comfortable and has large rooms.

Wunderschöner Urlaub in der Normandie

Wir haben mit unseren vier Kindern und unserem Hund einen wunderschönen Urlaub in La Jardiniere verbracht. Das Haus ist zauberhaft, blitzsauer, geräumig und grosszügig. Die Bilder sind absolut realistisch. Wir haben jeden Tag gekocht, denn die Küche ist so ausgestattet, dass es an nichts fehlt. Der Eßtisch ist für so viele Personen absolut ausreichend und auch die bezaubernde Terrasse konnte wir nicht nur zum Essen gut nutzen. Hinter der Terrasse liegt ein großzügiger Garten, der von uns allein genutzt werden konnte. Vor dem Haus - auf dem "allgemein zugänglichen" Gelände- konnten unsere Kinder super spielen. Hier steht u.a. auch eine Tischtennisplatte und für die Kleineren ein Spielplatz zur Verfügung. Die Vermieterin Emanuèle ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Sie spricht fließend Englisch und stand immer für einen guten Rat oder ein Schwätzchen zur Verfügung. Als unser Auto kaputt ging, hat sie uns eine Werkstatt empfohlen und vorher dort angerufen, um uns zu avisieren. La Jardiniere liegt günstig in der Nähe des Meeres, aber auch verkehrsgünstig um Ausflüge zu machen. Wir haben uns sehr gut erholt und hatten viel Spaß, deshalb werden wir auch nächstes Jahr wiederkommen....!

Great country location near Chateau

Delightful location near Chateau and 15 minute walk to the seaside. Immaculate, very spacious accommodation. Well appointed kitchen. Wonderful wood burning fire in the lounge room. Delightful patio area. Easy access to Utah Beach WW2 sites and north eastern coast of Cherbourg.

Repos et bonheur au bord de mer et au coin du feu

Nous sommes enchantés de notre séjour à la Jardinerie, la maison est grande et décorées avec soin, bien équipée idéale pour des vacances cosy et reposantes, nous avons apprécié la cheminée notamment pour le réveillon de nouvel an et la proximité de la plage où nous avons profité du temps superbe en faisant de longues balades pour le plus grand bonheur du chien; et nous n'avons eu aucun problème avec la connexion WIFI!

Very nice stay in la Jardinerie, the house is large, nicely decorated and well equipped; no problem with the WIFI connection. We enjoyed the fireplace and the nearness of the beach where we had long walk with the dog under a bright blue sky.

Romantic Autumn Feelings in Aumeville-Lestre

Second time in Autumn, forth time overall in Aumeville-Lestre at La Fermier du Chateau, what a lovely place. We knew what we wanted and we got it. Weather in Normandy can be different, but again we were lucky and the weather was mostly good. The products of the region are so excellent that there is nearly no need for restaurants and we could spend all days without any stretch.

Lovely walks during the day to the beach, through the fields and on days where we wanted to to a trip we had sufficient choices like:

- Bayeux

- Cap de la Hague

- Several flea markets

- Landing beaches

- etc.

We hope we can come back next year or the year after. Thanks for your nice houses and all the help you provided us with.

We usually book full weeks from saturday to saturday during school holidays but do not hesitate to ask us for different days and short stays.
We require a non refundable deposit of 30% to confirm the booking. Balance and options are due on arrival at the house.
Prices include: rental of the house, linen , bedding, Wi fi access, tourism taxes, baby equipment
We require an extra charge of 10 Euros per day for: electricity, water, gas
During school holidays and in July and August, changeover days will only be on Saturdays, we only rent full week but we can be flexible

We are not registered with the payment on line on this site.
This option costs an unjustified high fee to the owners but also to the renters.
