It’s hard to believe that this sleek, cosmopolitan residence was once a coach house. Today, instead of horses, this beautiful property is home to some of London’s most discerning visitors. It has been tastefully designed and finished to the highest quality, with everything you need for an unforgettable break.

Located in a traditional mews just around the corner from Russell Square tube, The Old Coach House offers a peaceful retreat from the buzz of the city. Bloomsbury is a friendly neighbourhood with green spaces, unusual independent shops, buzzing cafes and excellent restaurants offering food from all over the world. Yet a short walk or tube journey will take you to St. Pancras and King’s Cross stations, the British Museum, Covent Garden and to London’s West End, famous for its world class theatre. Nearby Coram’s fields will make you smile – it’s a park to which adults are only allowed if accompanied by children!

The property has three bedrooms, the largest one with a super-king size bed (or two twin beds if you prefer), a double room and a further bedroom with twin beds. A family bathroom serves the bedrooms upstairs and there is an additional wet room on the ground floor. The spacious reception room has original stable doors to the front, with sliding floor to ceiling windows within - push these wide open and you can ‘bring the outside indoors’! A fully-equipped bespoke kitchen, fitted with Siemens appliances, wine cellar and Joseph & Joseph utensils, has a small breakfast counter and offers open plan dining.

We go to extreme lengths to give you the best possible night’s sleep. We are talking about the ultimate level of comfort – bespoke, hand-made in the UK beds and mattresses, made specifically for Merino Hospitality in partnership with the official bed makers for the Rolls-Royce Enthusiast Club, EPOC. Ours are layered with over 12 inches of Merino wool, white cotton felt, cambric, silk and individually pocketed springs to make you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud.

You may need to work whilst staying with us, in which case we hope the HDMI connectivity and reliable Wi-Fi will be useful. Then relax and unwind in front of your Sony BRAVIA 55″ Full HD Smart LED TV with Netflix and a SONOS audio system. We hope you will find the spacious and light-filled interior of The Old Coach House, which has solar-powered underfloor heating throughout, a restful place to unwind.

Other facilities include LED lighting and solar heating system with underfloor heating throughout, whilst skylights and floor to ceiling sliding windows flood the house with natural light. You will also find a washer/dryer (detergent and softener provided), a large dishwasher (tablets included), iron with board and hair dryers in every bedroom, as well as luxury amenities by Aromatherapy Associates and Pecksniff’s, soft towels and top quality bedlinen. Fresh fruits, flowers and a small selection of groceries will be waiting for you on arrival (including a bottle of wine, juice, milk, eggs, bread, butter, crisps, chocolates, biscuits and sweets). Cooking spices, salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, sugar, tea and coffee are all supplied free of charge, as are cleaning materials for your daily needs. Additional housekeeping is also available on request for a small surcharge. Stays of 7+ nights benefit of complimentary weekly cleaning and linen change.

In December, my wife and I stayed in London for a weekend after visiting our son, who is studying in Winchester. Based on our friend’s recommendation, we chose the Colonnade apartment in Bloomsbury area. Caio, the hotel proprietor of Merino Hospitality, met us at the apartment and explained everything carefully, including the facilities, location and other transport details.



The interior of the apartment is very tidy and neat. We just felt like home and the standard of it is excellent. The apartment is in Zone 1 and it is within two minutes’ walk from/to Russell Sq. underground station. It is only 15 minutes away from the London shopping and famous theatre district. The apartment is clearly in the luxury class of its own and comparable (even exceed) to any five-star hotel in Central London.



We have no hesitation to recommend this apartment to our friends and relatives in both Hong Kong and China.

We were very pleased with our stay at this wonderful VRBO in Bloomsbury London. The location was great and the accommodations extremely comfortable. Prior to our arrival, the owners were extremely responsive to our inquiries and very helpful upon our arrival. Highly recommend staying here!

Stylish, clean as a whiste, quiet & nice extras!

Loved our brief stay at this wonderful, contemporary and quiet apartment on a charming cobblestoned street in Central London. On top of the stylish and tidy accommodations, our hosts included some extras not usually provided including a large basket of fresh fruit, some farm fresh eggs along with some other snacks and a bottle of wine. The upstairs bedrooms had skylights with shades which made it very open, light and bright. The bathrooms had some nice toiletries provided. And there were two markets and some restaurants & shops in an outdoor mini-mall just a block away. Would definitely recommend a stay.

Great for a family of five

Property was super cute, just as portrayed in pictures. Fantastic location - convenient to Underground station but also easy to grab taxis, and just a few blocks to the British Museum, but the property was so quiet - it was nice to get away from some of the hectic touristy areas of London and feel like we were in a true neighborhood. Three grocery stores just a few blocks away, so it was easy to have meals in our home. The Merino staff was so nice - following up via email before our arrival and meeting us at the property, with a welcome food basket included! We had plenty of room for our three kids. Highly recommend!

Great Location and Great Property

My family (including 3 teenagers) stayed at this property at the end of June. I can't say enough about the property or the location. The apartment was immaculately clean and the 3 bedrooms easily accommodated our family of 5. All toiletries provided, we had the fastest wifi we had during our stay in the UK, and a well-stocked welcome basket was waiting for us on our arrival. Caio and his team were available to make recommendations about local places to eat and to help us with anything we might need during our stay. The location is just around the corner from Russell Square station which provided access to all of London's tourist spots, and it is an easy walk to the British Museum. The ability to find places like this one is the reason I continue to use VRBO for all of our family vacations.

Oasis in the centre of London

My family stayed at this property at the end of spring. We loved it! The location was fabulous: a two minute walk from Russell Square station, a five minute walk to a well-stocked supermarket, and lots of interesting attractions all around.

Caio and his wonderful team couldn't have been more welcoming. They were fantastic, friendly, and helpful. They made it clear that, should we need anything, they were available to help.

The house itself was beautiful. Modern furnishings filled large rooms that were kept immaculately clean. A good-sized kitchen, an entertainment system, and wifi meant that the house was able to function as a home away from home.

Importantly, though, the house was comfortable. Although it is situated in the centre of London, it is perfectly quiet. Beds were comfortable. It was easy to get a good night's sleep after a day of touring.

Not only is the neighbourhood convenient, but it is safe. We walked around at night, and felt very secure.

We loved our stay in this house. We hope to stay in it again when we return to London. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable place to live in while they're visiting London.

Nearby Coram’s fields will make you smile – it’s the last park of its kind to which adults are only allowed if accompanied by children!

Bloomsbury is the literary heart of London and often referred to as Midtown due to its superb central location and ease of access to all corners of London.

Lambs Conduit Street - hidden away in the back streets between Holborn and Bloomsbury, you won’t find it on any tourist map or city guide but those who are in the know or happen to stumble across the street instantly fall in love with its unique charm. It’s a street that feels different, it’s as if you aren’t in central London, with a cosmopolitan mix of Cafe’s, Restaurants, Boutiques and Galleries and it’s great for shopping and relaxing but yet a very residential area with hundreds of apartments in the surrounding streets, as well as a vast amount of council homes. This is what makes Lambs Conduit Street so special and so unique, it still has that community spirit that has sadly been etched away from so many old neighbourhoods in Central London. Nothing beats an afternoon lunch sitting out on the street with the sun on your back, in absolute peace and quiet – yet only 5 minutes’ walk from Holborn tube station? – That’s quite surreal.
