I cannot thank you enough, My family and I just came back from your beautiful cottage. We had the best vacation there ever. We fished a ton and caught a bunch of fish. My girls 11 and 7 had such a blast and caught fish. We went to Cabot which is so close and a maple syrup farm. I had my coffee on the screened in area. I fished while having coffee another morning. The cottage has everything you could possibly need including a k cup machine. It has a fire pit, a grill, a beautiful dock, you can walk to the boat place and rent a boat its about 4 houses down. It is the most peaceful place ever. The cottage has satellite tv and very comfortable beds. Laura I could go on and on, If I could give it 100 stars, I would. It is so private. We rented a boat and stopped in the middle of the lake to swim. There is also an amazing bakery down the street. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!! Save me a week for next year!!
My wife and I stayed here with our two kids (6 and 12) for a long weekend in August. The pond is gorgeous and a nice size to go exploring in. The water was warm and the bottom safe to walk on. The kids loved sitting on the dock with their feet in the water and the screened in porch was lovely at night. We made ample use of the fire pit (lots of locals selling firewood).
Cell service was almost nonexistent for us with our Verizon phones, but this was welcome for us. It does mean you need to come prepared with you maps and regional plan - no GPS or googling for gas or restaurants :)
We made a trip to Montpelier for brunch, which is a really beautiful 45 min drive. Beautiful downtown with great restaurants and shops and smiling, friendly people. We also made day trips of Stowe, Ben & Jerry's in Waterbury, and even the (best I've been to) indoor water park at Jay Peak.
Night time was especially pleasant - we live in the country already and this cottage had more stars than us by far. It is right on Rt 2, a common cross-state thruway, but I did not find it distractingly loud, as one reviewer did. This feature, though, is the only reason for 4/5 stars
The property itself was clean and the owner responsive. As she warned us, the kitchen is not stocked with food or pantry items. Plenty of dishes, though, and pots and pans, but pack the ingredients for cooking it that is your plan.
All in all, a great stay :)
It is a cute cottage by a beautiful lake surrounded by an equally beautiful landscape. The owner was very helpful and responsive. Has everything you would expect for a nice cottage retreat. We knew that the cottage was on a main road and expected some car noise. We were also aware that some reviewers had mentioned some noise from the road but that it didn’t bother them. We were however, surprised at the level of noise from traffic - which was very heavy at times - especially from transport trucks (causes cottage to shake) and motorcycles. We found this made it difficult to relax. Proximity to local state parks is a bonus for those looking to hike.
Joe's Pond is beautiful! Water is clear and great for swimming. Cottage has everything you need to have a great time. Pontoon boat rentals close by. Great fishing!
We really enjoyed this cottage. We were joining a larger family group for a reunion, and this cottage was perfect for our family of four. The setting right on the lake was beautiful, and the cottage met our needs in every way.
A beautiful setting to get away from it all. This is a perfect place for a couple or a couple w/2 kids. This place is right on a nice quiet pond. You can view sunrise as well as sunset. The cottage is situated right at the lakes edge. Despite a record 91 degree day the home stayed cool. The home is well equipped with kitchen utensils and bedding. Bring your towels. We used the canoe supplied by the owner but less than a block away there were various water craft rentals. Now, if you are sensitive to highway noise, it may bother you, but for us it didn't matter. The roomy enclosed porch made it nice for reading, playing games or just staring at the outdoors. And of the course, the price is so affordable.
I'm an avid road bicyclist so I had an option of riding on a highway (2B) which is a short ride from the cottage or you could head to New Hampshire in the White Mountains. There are dedicated trails in the area near Franconia Notch State park. We entered on the trailhead near the Flume, which had lots of activity including a tram, zipline, etc. There is also Echo lake and there is shopping mall near there (from what I heard). Of course there are mountain trails for mountain bikes also. It is only a 20 to 30 minute car ride away but well worth it.
We also went to Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory as well as Green Mountain coffee factory. These were also, only a 30-40 minute drive through beautiful countryside.
Overall a thumbs up and I would stay again.
