About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.25 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Comfortable old home with a cozy farm house feel. Situated on the crest of a knoll in Brooksville, Harborside overlooking beautiful Penobscot Bay. Our Sunroom on the second floor is a favorite spot to watch the lovely sunsets over the bay with the Camden Hills in the distance. Harborside is off the beat and path and a wonderful area for walking, biking, hiking and kayaking. Just a short walk to Goose Falls and Holbrook Island Sanctuary. Wander down the path in front of the house to sit on the rocks close to the ocean, or take a swim at the little beach just down the street for the house.

Surrounding area include picturesque towns of Castine, Blue Hill and Stonington. Take a ride on the mail boat to Isle Au Halt, or a day trip to Acadia National Park. Or just sit on our private deck and let the ocean mesmerize you. Very quiet and relaxing area away from it all. The house is not too large for just 2 but also has plenty of room for 6 people. Enjoy the cozy woodstove in the kitchen or the Fireplace.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What an incredible view! After only a couple of days here, I'm in love with the place. If there's a better place to read and nap, than the upstairs livingroom looking out on Penobscot Bay, I'd like to see it. I have never come across it's equal in all my years coming to this area.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely old house in a gorgeous location. Beautiful views, nearby beach, short walk to Goose Falls and Holbrook Island Sanctuary. Cape Rosier is a magical place. We have stayed in this location many times. The house is always very clean, well-maintained and most welcoming. Our kids love it here, as do we.

Perfect Peaceful Vacation

Harborside is a hidden gem on the coast, very quiet, and beautiful. We spent most of our time there taking walks, reading, and going to Holbrook Sanctuary to put kayaks in for a paddle around the islands and over to Castine. If you kayak, be sure to check it out. The house works out great for four senior ladies who enjoy their space. We love the sunroom upstairs (the view is incredible across the bay), morning coffee on the front porch, and watching the birds from the back deck. We always go to Bucks Restaurant in Bucks Harbor for dinner one night.

I think we have been staying here for the past five years and have booked it again for this year.
