Our large and lovely old 1880 two-story farmhouse is beautifully situated on 4 acres with a babbling brook and backs up to the Green Mountain National Forest. Easy access year around. Located on Route 100 just north of Hancock, a popular scenic route through Vermont.

It is certainly not fancy or deluxe, just plain/simple accommodations for a family to enjoy. We've left as many of the original features of the home as possible. But the home is very large, and with comfortable furnishings, it is a great place for families to get together all under one roof and enjoy a vacation.

Located in the heart of Ski Country just south of Granville--within 20 minutes of SugarBush, Killington, Middlebury SnoBowl. Also, ride-out to the VAST trails located across the road. Located right on Route 100 (some road noise), but easy access year round.

Golfing within 5 minutes, hiking, waterfalls, kayaking, rafting, swimming, ice skating, and lots and lots of beauty all around!

Washer/dryer upstairs. Also, additional kitchenette--microwave, table/chairs, dishes, refrigerator.

Upstairs has lots of room for games/puzzles/books. We've set up an older game system (Super Nintendo) for the kids to play, with all G-rated games.

We are located on a main road, and the hill by our driveway is a cause for caution when pulling in and out. When departing, before pulling out onto the road, roll down your car window and listen for traffic sounds. Only pull out when you hear silence, as that is a signal it is clear. The cars travelling along that Route 100 can sometimes be going fast, and come up fast over the hill. Listening for cars is vital! We don't want any accidents, so take these precautions!

We are the Mousadi Family of 5. We love skiing in Vermont! We found our vacation home, and fell in love with it immediatelly--from the babbling brook beside the home, to the wide-board hardwood floors, the spacious room, to the great location to sereral of the best skiing areas in Vermont! Fall foliage is beautiful, too! And the spring and summers bring beauty and delight!

Being from Vermont, Bethany always was back visiting relatives throughout the years. After getting married and having children, Alex and Bethany wanted to not only visit Vermont to see family, but have a vacation home to feel comfortable in and enjoy vacationing in Vermont. This home fit the bill--and because they don't vacation full-time, they've made it available for others to enjoy!

What makes this house unique

The benefits of this home are that it is right in the heart of Vermont activities--from cross-country skiing nearby, golf courses, snow skiing, VAST snowmobile trails right out the front door, Ben & Jerry's ice cream and other tourist favorites to enjoy, are only a beginning. Then the home itself is right on Route 100, easy access year around. It is large and comfortable, great for families who want to stay in the same home--there is room for all with plenty of room to spare--it's great!

Quiet and roomy farm house

We loved our stay at the Hancock Ski House. It was very large and gave us space to spread out. Although it was in the country it was close to a number of VT villages. We strongly recommend the Hancock Hotel and Restaurant for a meal. GREAT home cooking! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Convenient, comfy and relaxing

Our recent trip to Vermont was so enjoyable thanks to our stay here. The property was exactly as advertised. When we arrived, my two sons (10 and 8) immediately went to explore all of the nooks and crannies that a house from this era has. The balance of functionality (kitchen, laundry, wifi) and charm (fireplace, wide plank floors) made the place feel cozy. The back yard and stream were wonderful for exploring, and the fire pit was perfect for making s'mores. The property is conveniently located and proximate to the forest preserve. It's 5-10 mins down VT-100 from Rochester, where there is a lovely cafe, a used book store/coffee shop, village green and gas station/convenience store. I'd look forward to staying here again when we return to Vermont.
