Rockland House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms/1 Bath (1 Queen, 1 Full, 1 Twin, 1 Sleep Sofa)

EXPERIENCE ROCKLAND MAINE

If after traveling hundreds or thousands of miles, you want to relax and enjoy your vacation feeling and being as comfortable as you do in your own home – this is the vacation rental for you and your family.

We take pride in that everyone who visits enjoys that the home provides them nearly everything you’d have in your own home to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

The full modern kitchen is equipped for anyone wanting to provide home cooked meals, mixing cocktails, baking, or nuking popcorn during their stay. There is an abundance of pots, pans, dinnerware, flatware, glasses, cups and utensils for every purpose.

There’s a small sitting room off the Master bedroom at the front of the house which provides a serene and picturesque view of the harbor. It’s great for morning coffee, tea or just relaxing with a good book while the sunrise welcomes the day.

Our two decks are great for outdoor dining, tanning or simply relaxing. One deck is above the garage and provides a great view overlooking the property and an ocean view. The rear deck is off the dining room with a grass covered back yard and gas grille in proximity.

Just down our street is the famous Samoset Resort and only ¾ mi.away is the Rockland breakwater and lighthouse. The ferry landing, just over a mile, provides transportation to a group of nearby islands at reasonable rates.

Our home is conveniently located and close to attractions, restaurants, shopping, hospital, and across the street from the Rockland Harbor. Most important is that the center of the town is within walking distance (1.3mi) from our location.

The annual Rockland Lobster Festival and the North Atlantic Blues Festival are two of the region’s most popular events during the peak season.

At the center of town are boutique shops, galleries, cozy coffee shops and restaurants known to please diverse palates. All of this is complimented by the sereneness of main street and the friendliest merchants and townspeople who work and live in the community.

There is so much to enjoy in Rockland as well as the surrounding cities and towns nearby. You and your family will find your stay here as one of your most special vacations.

About dennis & carol

We live in Rhode Island and have been here all our lives. Rockland Maine has been a favorite place for us for quite some time.

dennis & carol purchased this house in 1998

Why dennis & carol chose MidCoast and Penobscot Bay

We both grew up in Rhode Island but my wife's aunt lived in Rockland. My wife visited her aunt, uncle and cousins in Rockland annualy-usually lobster festival week - and fell in love with this small seaside town. When we met in the 80's, I joined her on her visits to Rockland. We found this home on our way to visit the Samoset Resort and the Rockland breakwater and purchased it in 1998.

What makes this house unique

There is a great view of the harbor from our home. There is a small sitting room off the master bedroom with a large picture window where you can relax with a coffee, a good book or your ipod and truely relax. You can also go to the large deck above the garage and capture the ocean breeze and sunshine along with a view of the harbor.

Very comfortable, and access to everything

  • 4 of 5

This property was a great location for day tripping along the coast. It was comfortable for the 4 of us, (2 couples), and we enjoyed sitting on the deck for coffee, and cooking lobsters on the grill out back. Plenty of cooking utensils, and comfortable beds. Thank you!!!

Many Maine vacations we have spent here.

  • 5 of 5

Just a quick note to say, again, that we highly recommend this for a vacation stay. We have used this comfy, bright, clean, and well-located home for years----2-week stays twice a year. Our last review, in 2011, is still applicable, as are all the other reviews, before and after, so I will let them speak for themselves.

Loved An Oceanview Home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our visit to Rockland over the Veterans Day week-end and this cozy home made a great home base. It turned out to be the perfect time to visit, it felt like a sleepy town but there was plenty open and lots to do. Of course, it was on the chilly side, but the house warmed up very quickly when we checked in and we stayed comfortable. The owners very thoughtfully provided 2 looseleaf books with lots of information about things to do in the area. The home had everything we needed. We even had dinner guests one evening and we did not lack for anything necessary for a lobster boil - including placemats with directions on how to eat a lobster! The beds were comfortable and I absolutely loved waking up in the morning and looking from my bed straight across the road to the calm waters of the harbor. We did not need our hosts, but I had their phone number and was confident that any problem would have been resolved quickly. We loved our special dinner out at Primo (Sunday night, $1 oysters!) and our meal the night before at 3 Crow was also very delicious. We hope to return to Rockland someday and also look forward to returning to An Oceanview Home!

Great Vacation Rental!

  • 5 of 5

We just had a great weeks stay in this vacation rental. The listing & photos accurately describe the property & location, the property was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed for a Maine vacation. The owners were communicative and responded in a timely manner. Rockland was a perfect home base for day trips. The Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse & Pemaquid Point Lighthouse were among our favorite sites. Longer day trips to Popham Beach & Acadia Natl Park are highly recommended. The lobster purchased from Knights by the Ferry Landing was fantastic; the rental was well equipped with whatever we needed to cook the lobster.

I would highly recommend this rental property!

Charming home

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a delightful stay at this lovely, comfortable and bright house. (The pictures do not do it justice). Wood floors, brick fireplace, just-right paintings which grace the walls provide a perfect setting for a Penobscot Bay vacation. The views of the water are serene and soothing and the house is filled with light and the sweet ocean air. Now and then the soft sound of the lighthouse horn can be heard.

On a more practical note, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well and thoughtfully equipped, the off-street parking was nice and, unlike many rental homes, the tv had many many channels (way beyond basic cable) so we could watch favorite shows.

In sum, this vacation home is quite special! Having enjoyed nine summers in Mid-Coast Maine, we all agreed that this rental house was one of the best ever! Many thanks to Dennis and Carol~

Rockland House

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for four days in February. What a cozy house it was! The kitchen was very well equipped, and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The master bedroom was very comfortable, my husband and I commented every morning on what a good nights sleep we had! The view was so pretty looking out over the water. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again!
