Do you want to getaway to the lake with privacy? This cabin is the best of both worlds! Located on Lake Cumberland, the property sits between two ridges overlooking the lake, surrounded by woods and wildlife. We completely renovated this treasure in the woods indoors and out, and gave it the rustic charm that Kentucky cabins are known for, as well as adding the modern conveniences of a wrap around deck, grill and fire pit. We maximized the sleeping space so you can bring the whole family. With three queens (two sofa sleepers that fold out), and three twins (a bunk and roll away), you can fit everyone into this cozy space for an economical yet luxury vacation on Lake Cumberland. Have a larger crowd than nine? We also have an additional 1 bedroom cabin and 4 bedroom house directly across the gravel road from the Hideaway to accommodate groups of ANY size. Whether you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway, or a large family or group of friends, co-workers, or bible study retreats, we can accommodate your group. Book early to book more than one property at a time, however, because they fill up last minute.
Because we are a large family with pets, we have made our property pet friendly with a $50 pet fee per pet. We ask to be informed ahead of time as to the breed and number, but understand the need and desire to travel with your fur family members. The cabins and house are located at the end of a gravel road and are on the point overlooking the water. Views vary with the season, but are spectacular if you time your stay right (best views are in late Fall through early Spring). We have trails that run to the Corps line for the adventurous ones but advise you take precautions and come with tick repellent and a walking stick (snakes inhabit the area as well as foxes, a bobcat and an occasional bear).
House rules are simple- please leave the cabin as you found it with the exception of: placing used linens and towels in the laundry basket provided, bagging and securing all trash and placing by the front door when you leave. Use caution when using the grill and fire pit, and never leave burning unattended. Due to forest fire risks, the fire pit may NOT be used during a burn ban, which is adjusted daily per weather/humidity conditions. Guests hike and use trails at their own risk, and owner is not responsible if you injure yourself exploring the area. If you leave the cabin clean and undamaged, your damage deposit will be refunded immediately upon inspection.
We created the Hunni Hideaway to be a place we would want to stay. We used quality finishes with pine throughout, barn doors, and provided a full equipped kitchen for maximum convenience. We welcome your feedback!
