This tranquil property, a 20-minute short drive from the buzzing St. Tropez, is set on 7 hectares of forest land with sunset views, on the hills of La Garde Freinet, a small village sought after by connoisseurs of the area. Ideal for those seeking privacy and quietness.
The approx. 300 sq.m. villa was restored with love by a young couple in late 2009. The old barns were converted to a double volume living room with an oversized fireplace, while the kitchen was newly equipped with an AGA stove and American style fridge and ice maker.
The house is decorated in simple and elegant Provençal style. Fully air conditioned, the property is perfect for summer holidays and cozy winter getaways. The pool can be heated* and has an electric cover. The oversized pergola by the pool is ideal for entertaining.
Secure and covered garage for up to three small / medium sized cars.
The 7 hectares of land are ideal for nature lovers, bird watchers and a perfect playground for the kids.
*: Advance notice necessary for heating the swimming pool. Advance time depends on season of the year. Extra charges apply for the operation of the heat pump.
The owners are a young couple who love nature, cooking and travelling. They fell in love with this property because of its wonderful energy and serenity and of course, the easy reach to the glitzy world of Saint Tropez, Cannes and Monte Carlo.

Perfect orientation with sunset views and a stone's throw from Saint Tropez. Absolute privacy and peace.
Peaceful and quiet
Newly restored with modern equipment
Stunning old trees
This is an exquisite property tucked in the hills surrounding La Garde Freinet in a very peaceful and relaxing setting. The house has been beautifully restored and the accommodation is perfect with an 'old world' charm but possessing all the mod-cons needed. The house is spacious with a charming kitchen and the bedrooms are a very good size with comfortable beds and in a style that is typically Provencal. However our favourite area was the pool house where we would have evening cocktails enjoying the spectacular sunsets.
The town of La Garde Freinet is easy accessible and has some wonderful restaurants plus excellent bakeries, butcher shops and a small supermarket that is well stocked. The wine shop is superb and the owners are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The twice weekly market is small but has some wonderful stalls, especially the cheese man, the florist and the rotisserie for some of the best tasting chicken you will get!
The beaches of St. Tropez are only 40 minutes away and much better accessed via the Ramatuelle road to avoid the traffic in town. However you may not want to leave the villa given the lovely pool, location and facilities. It really made for a wonderful stay and we have no hesitation in recommending the house as a great holiday spot.
We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful villa. The location is wonderful, being conveniently close to to cosmopolitan St. Tropez, yet a world away. Immediately upon entering the property, you can feel the stress melt away. The listing description is completely accurate - it is secluded with absolute privacy surrounded by nature's beauty. For us, this was truly paradise on earth because this was exactly what we needed. We loved being able to hike around the surrounding hills and to be able to walk to the quaint village of La Garde Freinet for dinner or a coffee.
The property was immaculately clean and very well maintained. The interior is tastefully decorated and very comfortable.
We were met by the property manager that provided exceptional service. We thought we left something behind when we left the property on our way to Monaco, so we called the property manager who took care of it for us with no hesitation.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!
This area of France is truly ideal for holidays. Situated between the Massif des Maures mountains to the North and the beautiful beaches of the Cote d'Azur to the South it offers everything one could imagine. Glitzy beaches, chic shops, VIP's in their oversized yachts and amazing restaurants in the famous (once sleepy) village of St Tropez or the much quieter coves and beaches with their laid back atmosphere in the villages of Canadel or Le Lavandou. The beautiful Iles d'Or with their crystal clear waters and unspoilt beaches are only a short ferry ride away. This is the perfect place to rent bicycles, pack a picnic and visit the magical botanical gardens.
Visit the nearby hilltop villages of Grimaud and La Garde Freinet, picturesque with their tiny winding streets, family-run restaurants and an air of tranquility.
For the wine lovers of course, this area is perfect. Visit the local caves and Chateaus and sample the delicious harvests. For the more active ones, there are many Golf courses, a thrilling go-kart track for the grown up children, tennis courts, hiking and biking tracks, as well as windsurfing and boat rentals at the local beaches.
If you like outdoor shopping then the wonderfully colourful French markets are a must. The most charming is held on Tuesday and Saturday mornings in Saint Tropez. And don't miss the incredible Thief's market in Grimaud, where every Sunday morning a vineyard turns into a bargain hunter heaven. Old linen, a vintage kelly bag or the perfect kitchen table, you can find everything there. Ramatuelle is another favourite place, with its stunning beaches and a beautiful crowd. Club 55, THE restaurant of choice (made famous by Brigitte Bardot in 1955) is well worth a long and lazy lunch. The food is simple and delicious and yes, the wait list for a table notorious.
About 35 min North from Garde Freinet is the perfectly preserved Cistercian monastery of Le Thoronet which was founded in 1120.
